I chickened out (or whatever) and had Budapest's Gresham hotel deliver my two turkeys for my feast! I cooked the rest of the food for three days...It was fun to give Hungarians their first Thanksgiving.

P.S. That quote is from a movie ("The American President"). I don't take credit or it, but I support it, just like the nation that it describes.

No Cathy Primerin... What we liberals hate is that you and people like you are too simpleminded to really understand what it means to love America. We work hard for our love of America.

America isn't easy. America is advanced citizenship. You've got to want it bad, because it's gonna put up a fight. It's gonna say, "You want free speech? Let's see you acknowledge a man whose words make your blood boil who is standing center stage and advocating at the top of his lungs that which you would spend a lifetime opposing at the top of yours. You want to claim this land as the 'land of the free'? Then the symbol of your country cannot just be a flag. The symbol also has to be one of its citizens exercising his right to burn that flag in protest. Now show me that, defend that, celebrate that in your classrooms. Then you can stand up and sing about the 'land of the free'.

So, may God, or whatever deity you believe in show good fortune to this great nation. And may we learn to (like our parents and grandparents) make it greater still.

I'm gonna be true to myself here and blurt out what the liberals absolutely hate....

"GOD BLESS AMERICA."

Lets give thanks to America , our fore fathers and capitalism . It has given us whole turkeys and the ovens to bake them in .

Good story, Sue!

Bizarre that it was so hard to get a whole turkey, but I'd be willing to bet that that issue and their small ovens go hand in hand (probably had zero problem before electric ovens became common, replacing wood-fired brick ovens).

Happy Turkey Day!
