The Rupert Murdoch Lesson the U.S. Media Should Learn

It is my understanding that News Corporation has hacked phones in the U.S., and is using additional electronic resources to gather other U.S. information that assists Rupert Murdoch in presenting his corporation's unprincipled perspectives and his devious plans for industry, corporate power over, massive land and water acquisitions, and state and national political power in every part of the World. Why would any of us in the U.S. continue to tolerate this? Rupert Murdoch has a goal: he wants to live to see the World as a One-World Oligarchy, and Rupert wants to be "Chief Oligarch!"

Dan Cooper, one of Rupert's former producers and executives has much to say about electronic hacking conditions at News Corporation in the U.S."

This is Sourcewatch article is well-documented, although frightening for all of us, but in the course of discussing the News Corporation, I was referring to the 5.1 person section in the outline above. Charles Reina, former Fox News producer, and his opinion of Fox News after having worked ther for many years.

For Bill Hedges:

Although I put the sites above in another comment, I guess you did not read them. I, again, want to point out all the quotation marks throughout these articles. It is not that the articles are primary documentation, but the sources (the people's who spoke or wrote the original words) of the quotations ARE from primary sources. Please, Bill Hedges, referencing a partisan blog does not prove a point, nor does it prove you are right. It only proves that you are not open for intelligent discussion, and prefer to base your opinions on hearsay, written or spoken by "journalists" and "pundits" who are paid millions of dollars to deceive you. You are not researching PRIMARY INFORMATION to find out if a statement is true or NOT true.

One would think I was a "fool" or something, by the way Billy Boy ignores me!

This man has manipulated the media to create the opening for a political party in the U.K to come to power that would let him shape his media empire , he became a King Maker and like the Earl of Warwick he will lose everything ,if I was the F.B.I over there I would be raiding his offices as well, if he done it in the U.K you can bet your sweet F.A he’s done it in the states as well

Hedges, everything you say is idiotic but you wouldn't be getting paid to be the censoring court jester here if it wasn't. Keep up your nonsense - it supports the fact extreme conservatives are basically pathological liars and sociopaths.

obama’s GOOD BUDDY GE “ream this country”, as you say.

Prove “nazi like beck”

You say “No wonder Fox News takes such a hard line on against taxes ”

Of course Fox does:

“According to the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO), the Bush tax cuts actually shifted the total tax burden farther toward the rich so that in 2000-2004, total income tax paid by the top 40% of income-earners grew by 4.6% to 99.1% of the total.”

Don’t forget, we went through Clinton’s recession and possible entering into obama’s recession.

... along with all his mafiosa journalistas.

Its ironic that Nixon's GOPtv plan spawned Fox News that's run by Murdock's criminal journalism empire. The media arm of the Republican party is now and forever will be tagged with their crime boss, Rupert Murdock. We all know Fox has been dishonest, misleading and lopsided as sin for the crazy righties, but what else have those crooks been up to?

FOX News run by an international criminal organization is the primary source of information for many of the GOP extremists who are trying to ream this country. Does it come as any real surprise. Who else would hire a nazi like beck?

The other thing folks should reflect on is that News Corp is another one of these American Corporations that has a negative tax bill to the tune of $4.5 bill, which means News Corp is corporate welfare queen. No wonder Fox News takes such a hard line on against taxes - they are making out like bandits enriching themselves with US taxpayer money. Now that's is criminal or at least it should be.

The real lesson folks should learn is that liars never win and Rupert Murdock should lose any FCC broadcasting license in the US.

that Milligan would write something about journalistic integrity when only recently she screwed up and called Bachman a liar unfit for office, when it was Milligan herself who was ignorant about the history of the Founding Fathers and their struggle against slavery.

Will we ever see an apology over that, Susan?

that someone would bring up something written by Koppel as something worth reading.

Koppel - wasn't he the big-time reporter who got canned for promoting made-up evidence of supposed "favoritism" for Bush when the newspapers investigation showed that not only was the "evidence" totally false, but that Koppel had violated just about every journalistic standard there is in trying to promote that story?

What ever happened to the lawsuit that Koppel was going to bring against the news outlet for supposed firing him improperly?

Maybe it disappeared because it had zero merit?

That is, just about the same merit that Koppel, as a "journalist, has?

In other words, about the same merit that Milligan, Schlessinger and Steinham have?

Everyone with a by-line had the same supposed journalistic 'integrity' and 'excellence' as Susan Milligan, now self-appointed Media Police comish, formerly self-appointed Television Police comish, and before that self-appointed comish of the Excessive Celebration over bin Laden Dead Police?

If that were the case, then anyone with a by-line would have the sole opinion that the media treated big-liar Anthony Weiner 'inexcusably' during his big week of l-i-e. Everyone would have seen and heard Weiner SQUIRMING LIKE A LYING TOAD for a whole week with their own eyes and ears while all the Milligan by-line pod journalistas would have gone, "Lie? What lie? We don't see any lying. And comrades, it is in your best interest to not see any lying either."

Think Weiner being exposed as a big liar has nothing to do with this Milligan post?

Read this choice sentence again:

"But while the U.S. press has not crossed the line to phone-hacking, it would be wise to give lawmakers a bit more privacy."

Yeah, don't stake out their internet activity. You might catch some lefty liberal progressive democrat 'lawmaker' make the big mistake of sending a skanky twitter message publicly instead of privately. Then that lefty liberal progressive democrat 'lawmaker' would have no other instinct but to go on a week-long campaign of L-I-E. And after that week-long campaign of L-I-E, finally fess up to being a big jerk liar.

And if everyone with a by-line had the same supposed journalistic 'integrity' and 'excellence' as Susan Milligan, no one with a by-line would have any opinion at all about Obama's More-Bush-Than-Bush non-war Libyan war.

Time after time after time, Milligan sets herself up as the grand poobah of right and wrong, as exemplified by her penchant to oh so very selectively use the word... 'inexcusable.' As if she holds the copyright to it.

Well, let me violate that copyright:

Anthony Weiner *****inexcusably***** was a big liar.

And More-Bush-Than-Bush Obama calling the Libyan war anything but is *****inexcusably***** an even-bigger liar.

Hence, the update:

12 July, War Powers 90 plus twenty-three:

Still dem-shill oblivious to democrat Obama's More-Bush-Than-Bush non-war Libyan war, Pyongyang Soo pours a few more yards of concrete on top of her already-buried credibility.

--------------

PS: To all members of the press. Disregard Pyongyang Soo's blanket dictate to give lawmakers 'more privacy.' If in your reporter's gut you feel some lawmaker is lying like a squirming toad -- be it about a foto of his junk being sent on twitter or about redefining the word 'war' -- go after such RELENTLESSLY. You don't have to phone-hack or do anything else illegal, just keep putting that mic and camera in front of/on their face. Not doing so would deep-six your credibility as much as not doing so has buried Pyongyang Soo's credibility.

Murdoch was perfectly capable of what is being exposed in England because we have witnessed his idea of fair and balanced reporting on this side of the pond.

Forget Murdoch! Much of today's news is intellectually bankrupt as they attempt to be "NewsMakers" as opposed to "News Reporters". The foreign bureaus have long ago been reduced to token presences and the lack of cohesive reporting of world events is palpable. The 24/7 cycle has reduced the media to portrayors of anything that will stick til the next cycle, truthful or not. To report half the story, or sensationalist, out of context elemnets of a story is the same as fabricating a story - or should be - to a serious journalist .

Se Ted Koppels lament in the Washington Post 11/14/2010 "Olbermann, O'Reilly and the death of real news". Talking heads have become preachers to the choir.

Why, because we allow them to. The Ludicrous Left and the Ridiculous Right have carried the dialogue in this country for the last 15 years. The media is now filled with both. Unless we take back this country and from the Zealots and our press returns to its essential position in a free democracy, we are doomed!

Thank you,

*That's* the lesson you think we should learn? Don't be so interested in celebrities?

How about the lesson that we shouldn't believe every obvious lie that comes out against someone we don't like just because it comes from a media outlet that shills for our favorite political party? How about the lesson of not standing by and letting our government dismantle regulations that used to require REAL fair and balanced coverage? How about valuing the facts, more than proving the other guy is wrong, for a change?

How about the lesson of valuing accuracy in the media more than who's getting more viewers? What about the lesson of letting the news become "entertainment" instead of an accurate window on the world?

Don't even TRY to pretend this has to do with celebrity worship. There's something much darker at play, and if we don't learn that lesson from the exposure of Rupert Murdoch, the US is headed for a new dark age.
