Take Note, Tea Party: Government Workers Got Osama bin Laden

Commandos from the US Dept. of Education -- not SEALs not CIA -- got bin Laden. The SEALs and the helicopters were a diversionary cover story. bin Laden was morte when they arrived. Earlier, DoE Commandos paraglided down from the Himalayas, with blow guns and poison darts. Their motto: One dart, one kill. And the reason why Obama won't release the dead mug shot of bin Laden is because the DoE Commandos took scalps.

When you're that good, they let you do things your way.

That whole education thing with the DoE? Cover story. And those Tea Party people with their limited-government talk about getting rid of the DoE in favor of determining educational programs and standards at the local level are going to irreparably damage our national security.

Great article, Susan>

The Seals done great. Obama delivered on a campaign promise that matters.

I guess they are finding out that Osama was running the show and we just took out the lynchpin of terrorists opposed to us.

Seems like there some who don't like our government, but offer no alternative except tory return to colonial rule by the impending Koch Dynasty seeking to overthrow our govt.

The first tea party protest was against corporate monopoly, specifically the East India Company and their tea monopoly. All the founding fathers were opposed to monopolistic rule and set up our own country to foil the economic colonialism that exploited us for royalist corporatism. Which seems like what the Republican are trying to put into place.

I've heard the Tea Party complain about "incompetent, fatcat, government employees." Sounds all-inclusive to me. I've never heard anybody complaining about government employees make an exeptions for the military and intelligence community. Maybe it's one of those 'understood' things that I don't understand.

I've heard the left complain about military "war-mongers" in terms that imply everybody in the military is alike. Excuse me? Why would the military (the ones who actually get shot at) want to go to war? I was there for 24 years and the last thing I wanted was a war; I was ready for it if (when) it happened, but I sure as hell didn't want it!

What I have yet to hear from either side is anything resembling rational thought and the acceptance from everybody that we need to a) cut spending, and b) raise taxes to get the deficit (and debt) under control. To express anything different is to display non-existent math skills.

You say , " Goverment is a good thing , that's why the founding fathers created this country in the first place " . Either you're a moron or just plain stupid , may-be a young product of the public education system . I suggest you do a little research on your own as to why the pilgrims came here . Until then there's no sense talking to anyone that has your opinion .

It's a shame this is an example of what our tax dollars are paying for in the school system .

Was not “Wall Street tycoons who endanger us ”, was Clinton’s scheme to get unqualified home buyers that could not afford the homes they were buying. Was lawyer obama and Acorn that lead to sub-prime. Was Fannie and Freddie selling the bad home mortages that broke Wall Street firms.

WI must lower public employee demands because benefits nearly doubles their earnings.

“The policy of the American government is to leave their citizens free, neither restraining nor aiding them in their pursuits. ”

“To take from one because it is thought that his own industry and that of his father’s has acquired too much, in order to spare to others, who, or whose fathers, have not exercised equal industry and skill, is to violate arbitrarily the first principle of association—the guarantee to every one of a free exercise of his industry and the fruits acquired by it.”

“I think myself that we have more machinery of government than is necessary, too many parasites living on the labor of the industrious. (Back then!) ”

“Were we directed from Washington when to sow and when to reap, we should soon want bread.”

The navy Seals show killed Bin Laden get paid around 55k a yr. Compare that to the Wall Street tycoons who endanger us with their reckless gambling problems.

Lets thank the Navy Seals, or the local cops and firemen, rather than Republicans so vehemently trying to cut their pay.

Government is a good thing, that's why the founding fathers created the country in the first place. If you want to defend the Constitution, defend the government that that embodies it. If you hate our government you hate the USA and we don't need you - we just killed off one major USA hater in pakistan and put Tim McVeigh to death before that. Time to take a stand if you are for the USA or against it.

Uh, regarding "controlling your womb". You're quite right - you should control your womb. However, if you act irresponsibly and allow life to be created within it, then that life should be protected from being destroyed for the sake of your personal convenience. It's a baby you and your partner have created - not a "choice" or a tadpole.

Regarding the government deciding, "...who gets to marry whom..." . Whatever could you mean? Men marrying little girls? Men having multiple wives? Brother marrying sister or father daughter? Mom marrying Grandma? Uncle John marrying niece Anny? High School teacher marrying her 16 year old student?

No, no - you must be referring to gay folk wanting to distort the traditional, religious, cultural and legal definition of words to suit their "progressive' mores and lifestyle.

Some stuff government does well, but much of it is simply stupid, meddlesome and downright irrational. I'm fond of telling people I meet that the problem with government is that "Andy retired and left Barney in charge."

Perhaps you're too young to remember the show.... But I always preferred Andy's way of doing things - and so did America, back then.

Say, Mary, you're from Missouri so you must be familiar with Harry Truman. Now there was a Democrat I could admire. Come to think of it - he was sort'a like Andy - simple and plain spoken.

That really does sum it up pretty well.

"1.Rich: So you consider Abu Ghraib 'unseemly' Also rape of civilians. I wonder what your idea of 'extremely bad' or even 'inhuman' or possibly 'horrific' would be? Actually I had never suspected that our military raped civilians. I'm surprised that someone who wants to appear supportive of our military would throw those charges around so carelessly."

Happy to oblige. I consider beheading humans with butcher knives to be inhuman and horrific.

The charges of rape and murder are not thrown around carelessly. It happens.

I do support our military; but not every soldier. Some individuals have no business representing our nation under arms. Liberals often love to sieze on individual instances and use them to condemn the entire military; I condemn the individuals responsible. Can you see the difference?

"2. Of course the military got bin Laden. That would include the Commander in Chief who made the decision about how the mission would take shape and gave the orders for it to happen."

I don't deny Obama's role. He made a good call. But equating the military with other public servants, as the article does, is ridiculous.

Rich of CO 10:22PM May 09, 2011

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but this garbage commentary is really just a lie. First of all when the TEA Party has talked about the role of government they state the military is one of the few things the government should do and does right. And one of the things conservatives believe is the government should let the military do their job and not get in their way.

But what conservatives think the government should stay out of is things like where a company can build a plant, such as the Obama administration paying back the unions for their contributions by trying to stop Boeing from opening a factory in the right to work state of South Carolina. Things like stopping oil exploration off our shores, saying we have to stop our dependence on oil while helping a George Soros backed Brazilian company drill off the coast of Brazil and saying we want to be one of their customers, complaining about corporate taxes being too low while giving his contributor GE tax breaks to the point that it paid no taxes.

You know that conservatives have always praised the military and this article was just a cheap shot that has more to do with your hatred of conservatives and trying to prop up the most corrupt and incompetent administration this country has ever had. Of course you have to get in now, while he is rising from the only thing he has done right in 2 ½ years. And contrary to way it is portrayed in the liberal press, Obama did not kill Bin Laden; he only allowed our military to do their job.

3. R. L. Schaefer: You may never have met a Libertarian who thinks government is unnecessary, but I remember a very well known quote about drowning government in a bathtub that certainly sounds like at least one person thinks government is completely unnecessary. (Grover Norquist)

4. Although I agree that some things are not within the government remit, such as controlling my womb and deciding who gets to marry whom, I'm actually pretty grateful to the 'big' government that inspects my food, tests drugs, builds bridges, tracks disease, maintains my roads, protects my drinking water, etc. If you do not want such services, I'm sure you could have your house disconnected from the water, sewer and power grids, and pay to maintain your road yourself, and have your food directly imported from China where the inspections are not so rigorous.
