"... based on negativity ... "Would you please explain what's positive about what the O campaigner's policies?

To Ms Milligan, any group that is aggressivly seeking change are the "wacko wing".

Trying to derail the healthcare "overhaul" which "...has barely gone into effect..." Well let's see. When a huge airliner is falling out of the sky .. which has barely hit the ground yet,do we know what the final outcome will be? "PULL UP! "PULL UP"! ,and bring it out of the fall and save it.

OCare is falling upon the country. A change in the Whitehouse will bring it out of a disastrous dive.

Susan Milligan must have been under a rock during the 2008 presidential election. Consider this pivotal assertion in her article: "The Republicans’ problem right now is ... "that the appeal of its leading candidates now is one based in negativity, instead of a positive vision for the future."

Really? I remember something Ms. Milligan does not: the relentless, hateful attacks on George W. Bush from everything from Iraq (which reminds me, where are we in Libya and what are we doing there?) to his IQ (although his grades were better than John Kerry's at Yale) to Gitmo (yes, we're still there) to military tribunals (yes, we're still doing those) to too much spending (yes, the current president has actually managed to DOUBLE Bush's spending rate in his first two and a half years in office).

Ah, the nonsense, Ms. Milligan. Barack Obama's campaign was entirely a negative attack on Bush, and it worked. But with Obama's approval rating now down to only 41% (only the die-hards like Ms Milligan and a few others remain on his directionless ship of state), making negative attacks on this president should pose no problem. It worked for Democrats against GW Bush and against Sarah Palin, but the ever-observant Ms. Milligan missed all of that.

NMo, they can't.

But they sure can win easily on the facts.

It's pretty typical for both parties to push hard to the extremes during a primary. Once that is over, candidates move to the center to snap up independents and "soft" party support, secure in the knowledge that the extreme (right or left) of their party simply has no remaining option other than to vote for them.

It ain't "hate", it's pandering.

Of greater concern is that this strategy plays out, election cycle after election cycle, proving that our elected officials are simply the best liars and manipulators money can buy. The best-qualified candidates are usually left to rot in the primaries.

that bloggers at U.S. News pick some topics other than election politics. I mean it's bad enough that the prez spent 50% of his time for the past two years in campaign mode, before going to full power, blast off stations a couple of weeks ago. Though I gotta say it's kinda nice not having him around to mess stuff up while he's out grinnin' and glad handing his Obamatron base and B.S.n' the indies.

But God! Can't we just watch reruns of 2008? There's is nothing new - nothing of interest - just same'o same'o. I'm thinkin' that maybe this time around he'll pop out of a flamin', fiberglass Krakatoa like a native super spirit instead of the Greek God and pillars theme of '08.

But what really makes all this soooo boring is that the Republicans don't have a viable candidate. Hell, Obama's political hair is on fire but the right has no one who can chase him off the stage. Gosh, that's sad.

Our country's only hope is that gas hits 6 bucks by this time next year and the Independents come to realize that windmills, solar panels and fairy dust isn't happenin'. And, that stratospheric energy costs and nutty Enviro regulations will totally destroy industry, jobs and the economy. Maybe that will wake folks up and put a little cloud of doubt over Environmentalist Theology and their Green leaders.

Oh yeah, almost forgot, Happy Earth Day...

so far the the republican field of presidential candidates seems to be a hodge-podge of rhetoric filled malcontents.

perhaps a new more centerist candidate will emerge out of the pack with a solid plan to get the country back on course.

She proves a labodamy is not necessary to be a liberal, BUT DOES HELP.

Obama plans to spend $1 billion to get elected for a second term. If he was doing a good job would he need to spend even close to that amount? If that does not clearly indicate something is very wrong with our government, I don't know what does.

We need to end all of the wasteful and inefficient government programs to make it easier for people to live off the system than to be productive members of the economy. I am tired of paying taxes to pay for the person in the checkout line in front of me using food stamps to buy food only to follow that up with using a large amount of cash to by cigarettes. I am tired of paying taxes so government workers can get salaries and benefits far beyond what I get in the private sector. I am tired of paying taxes to support people who have little incentive to work and achieve. Our government is dysfunctional, inefficient, and too big. It is our huge, dysfunctional, and wasteful government that is holding back our economy and job growth.

Until we get him out of office, Obama will:

* Spend $1 billion to buy back a job he has failed miserably at.

* Attempt a huge tax increase on the people who create jobs and economic growth so they will send even more money out of the country.

* Regulate and tax business so that cannot possibly compete on the world market.

What people need to know is we are destroying our economy with massive public debt, the huge amount and complexity of government regulation combined with the huge amount, number, and complexity of taxes.

Obama, Pelosi, Reid, and the rest of the Democrats believe in big government and intrusive regulation. They believe in taking from the people who work hard and get educated to achieve and give it to the people who do not try to better themselves.

Our government is dysfunctional, inefficient, and to big. It is our huge, dysfunctional, and wasteful government that is holding back our economy and job growth.

We must continue to VOTE THEM OUT!!!
