Maine Gov. Paul LePage's Artless Political Purge

The Governor ordered the removal of a mural from a public building on the grounds that it was anti-business.

Maybe the history of the AFL-CIO is anti-business. Strike it from public school textbooks.

The question isn't that he did something illegal, its that he did something that showed his commitment isn't truly to the people of Maine. 62% of voters agreed, they voted for someone else. The man doesn't have the support of the people; its dangerous to do what he does.

Also, fruitless as it is, I remind Bill Hedges of Missouri that Barack H Obama II is the President of the United States and he deserves and should recieve respect from every adult in this nation regardless of their political beliefs, just as I will honor the position of Governor Paul LePage even if I disagree with his policies.

Gov can have it taken down. Is not destroyed but stored.

If he did something wrong, please provide evidence with link.

The bust of Churchill was on loan. The murals weren't in the Blaine House or the Capitol but had been commissioned with federal funds for the space the were in during the Bush administration.

barry took down Winston Churchill bust. Returned to England I believe. Furniture gets changed in White House at the whim of the current President. That’s his right and have no problem with it. Understand there are tunnels full of stored artifacts and things.

My definition of "Milligan"_ Reading liberal derogatory meaning into things in order to put down people of opposing view points. A "Milligan" doesn’t find sinister meaning in removal of Churchill bust. Is personal preference...

The man is the governor. He hates the paintings and had them removed. End of story. Who needs your darned speech about it?

If you don't like it, move to Maine, get elected governor, and put them back up. Sheeeesh.
