If I were there, I'd stick a finger or two up in that. She looks good

COLUMBIA BROADCASTING BUTTOCKS

The media are bleeding profusely for poor Lara Logan, who had her ass grabbed on the streets of Cairo. But, in between the screams of “sexual assault”, real victims of sexual assault go unnoticed. Afghani women, darlings of the media, have the centuries old habit of hacking off the genitals of wounded soldiers after a battle. Contrast this form of sexual assault with the fate of poor Miss Logan, who suffered the infinitely greater ordeal of having her breasts and buttocks stripped and fondled on the streets of Cairo. Miss Logan is fortunate that she is a woman. Her immaculate posterior is more worthy of protection than the anus of white males sodomized by blacks behind prison bars. She only had to suffer a few minutes of paws on her love cheeks, as opposed to bending over on a daily basis.

Let us not deny Lara Logan her dignity. She suffered minor abuse but abuse that does not even begin to equal those who suffer far more outside the carefully focused indignation of the media lens

Go back and READ this article again!!!

I wonder if you'd say the same thing if your mother was in Lara's shoes.

Good job on the human compassion.

The courage and bravery shown by lara logan is very much appreciable and the incident is not going to take her courage down

I agree with John Thames. Every story has a lesson. Logan made a career out of putting herself in harm's way and then selling the story. As a journalist, I respect her greatly. But how long did anyone think she could hang out in war zones and lawless nations and not get hurt? Lots of reporters got beat downs in Egypt. Sadly, Logan's beauty made the assault take a sexually violent turn. All reputable sources that have commented on specifics have clarified that she was not raped (see Wall Street Journal and NY Post). However she was at least partially stripped and severally beaten with sensitive areas squeezed and pinched. Rape is defined as penetration. This is clearly sexual assault and no doubt traumatizing in the extreme.

The men who did this too her are the guilty party. They should be identified, tried and punished under Eqyptian Law. But if anyone thinks this was not a wake up call for Logan they are not thinking clearly. I hope she returns to work and continues to churn out great reporting. But I highly doubt she will put herself in that kind of situation again.

This tragedy that happens with Lara Logan February 11, 2011 is horrible, un-human. People are saying she deserved this for going out to Tahrir Square in Cairo. Even know the circumstances; she still went out because it’s her job. One commenter said “She got a wakeup call, and that bitch isn't so innocent either”. How would this person like it if they got raped in a different country? You don’t deserve to live writing something like that. Another commenter said “Lara Logan deserves no sympathy whatever. She "assumed the risk"”. How can these commenter’s even call themselves human? How can you live thinking of people like this? She didn’t deserve this; no one should no matter what the circumstances. My opinion, Lara Logan is one of the bravest I know.

Im Not Un-Human of ND 12:46PM February 28, 2011

Lara Logan deserves no sympathy whatever. She "assumed the risk". She put herself in a dangerous situation where she was likely to be attacked by an angry, hate America mob - and the worst case scenario happened. It is exactly like me walking into a crime ridden area at night, holding in plain view an expensive ten thousand dollar gold fountain pen . I get mugged and robbed. Was the criminal justified in his act? No. Did I display a callous, stupid disregard for my own welfare by venturing where I shouldn't with a valuable object in plain sight? I certainly did. The case of Lara Logan is no different.

I have not read very much about the terrible attack against Lara Logan but I would never imagine that anyone would believe she should or could be blamed for those who savagely attacked her. It does show the degree that empathy and kindness have been abandoned by many. I was so sorry that this happened to her and so sorry that being a reporter puts our brave reporters in such dangerous situations.

our cultural myths of victim and villain are so one dimentional that no real historical human can possible meet their test. 'oh, yes if you were are REAL victim, then my reaction would be as black and white as vicitim/villainy is but in this case i the "victim" is actally the villain because she's victimizing the myth of the victim because she's not a real victim because victim's are helpless and without options and therefore blameless. After all, who would choose to be a victim, right?'

we can't face our own vulnerability so we can't deal with someone else's so we need to diminish that of others. we don't love lara logan not because 'she doesn't deserve it' but because we don't love ourselves as we are: human.
