To Sarah Palin, the Arizona Shooting Is All About ... Sarah Palin

UHHH---American media/journalists/and ordinary people were merely ECHOING what Ms. Giffords, herself, said in March....

Giffords said that Palin's targets on her were putting her life, office, etc. in jeopardy.....death threats, vandalism at all of the "crosshairs - oops, I mean surveyor's landmarks", etc. were the DIRECT result of idiotic Palin's comments.

So, when we AND the Sheriff say it - it is only because Giffords foresaw what eventually happened.....

The 22 year old may have not done it directly because of Palin - but the "targets" were put on by Palin over a year ago....AND he lived in that area and could not help but notice it.

I see an awful lot of thinly veiled hate and hypocrisy in this article and the negative comments about Sarah Palin. She did not insert herself into the news about the shooting - grotesquely incompetent Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik did. If conservatives have created such a violent political climate as he says, then why wasn't he there? Clearly, Dupnik failed in his responsibility, as local law enforcement, to protect the Congresswoman. That failure must be investigated, and I wonder if that's why he's lashing out in all directions - he's trying to divert attention from the fact that it was HIS FAULT Loughner was able to carry through with an attack that killed six people. This article is nothing but a continuation of his red herring, by liberals determined to blame someone they don't like rather than those responsible.

"Just wondering, if Sarah Palin had good heart for the victims did she have to wait 4 days to prepare a script?"

Actually, Palin DID come out with a short condolence statement within hours of the shooting, only to be raked over the coals by the Left for supposedly not being contite.

She can't win, no matter what she says or does.

Sarah Palin is not a victim. She has repeatedly designated who her opponents are, with nasty comments, snide mockery, and borderline character slander. She has used gun metaphors, violent allusions and gun-related imagery to feed people's anger and to encourage them to do something about it. I know, I know, she is not the only one who does or has done this, but let's admit it now, this consistent negative behavior is her trademark. It's gotten her a lot of attention and it's made her a lot of money. Now that the attention is negative, she's upset. Well too bad. You reap what you sow. She is not a victim here. She's basked in the spotlight for supposedly speaking people's minds (though she never once spoke for me) and now she has to face to the criticism for her angry, inflammatory rhetoric. Now she gets to know just how many people really don't like what she says. That doesn't make her a victim. It makes her accountable.

In times of trouble we need leaders, not people who think they are victimized. We need people who step up to the plate and lead by example. You want civility from others? Be civil to them. You want respect from others? Be respectful to them. Learning the difference between debating and baiting, and critical thinking and just being critical.

What happens everytime something happens in the country that involves Political Reps and High Profile Civilians, some people with their agendas in mind turn around and look for someone to blame while the Law Officers in all levels involved are still performing the investigation?

Too many people open their mouths too soon! Who does not care or does not love those affected by this event? None. Every civilized citizen in their right minds loves and cares. STOP the Finger pointings and the judgings. Ms. Palin properly and sincerely responded to the critics and expressed her sympathy to the families of the victims, and she must go on with her life.

Susan

Whether you are a fan of Sara or not, you have to admit that she has a right to defend herself. Minutes after the shooting, the left wing apparatchiks ( in this case the press) were blaming her for inciting the mob and encouraging the killer. The dems hate her and fear her because she tells it like it is, exposes their (your) hypocrisy and doesn't hide her motives and philosophy behind political correctness double speak designed to fool the masses.

The people of America are not that stupid yet. However, they are getting there, thanks to stupid writing like this. I used to read US News regularly years ago until you became another liberal mouthpiece. Oh by the way, the emperor has new clothes!

We are now in the DIVIDED STATES OF AMERICA, can we come together and forgive-forget and become where we were before,THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA? Forgiveness is always the norm.

manzi of CA 3:14AM January 14, 2011

The best thing america has better than any other country in the world is forgiving.

All you have to do is come out like a good politician, tell the victims survivors eye to eye that while you are saddened by their loss you are also saddened for being cast as part of it. That cross hairs did not mean guns to kill the opponents. That it all misunderstandings that it mean't to be ballotbox. American people and victims will look into your eyes and say: YOU ARE FORGIVEN. and the next headlines would be Lindsay Lohan

manzi of CA 2:54AM January 14, 2011

Just wondering, if Sarah Palin had good heart for the victims did she have to wait 4 days to prepare a script? even some republicans are happy with that. If were sincere she could have put aside politics and preparations of scripted speeches and join others in memorial. What a shame!
