The Tea Party's 'Real America' Is a Fantasy

This was a somewhat reverse racist, stereotyping post. I consider myself conservative, but I have never watched a NASCAR race, I practice Buddhism, and I go hiking as often as I can, and I know many people who fall along these same lines. I think what the Tea Party is actually asking for is a more libertarian government. As the United States has increasingly adopted socialism, the economy has gradually worsened - FACT. Deregulation makes economies grow exponentially - FACT, as we can see from the fall of communism in Russia and the end of Saddam Hussein's tyrannical rule, with both events leading those countries to have the fastest growing economies in the world for a time.

Those who claim all one needs to do is read the Bible or the Constitution share something in common - a fundamental tendency towards literalism which neither the theological instructors in the mainline schools of Christian theology teach nor any law school across the country.

A return to a "simpler" America ignores the fact that the corporate giants who have been busily shifting jobs overseas following their success at pushing for a globalized economy which - surprise - helps no one but themselves and their bottom lines are the forces which have created havoc and destruction in America. Until the lights are shined on them - the real work for reform is null.

Raul, you are a perfect example of someone living in a fantasty land. The America you yearn for no longer exists. The America controlled by WASP (White Anglo-Saxon Protestant) male is fading into the dustbin of history. The Mad Men era is over. Get over it!

I guess I'm one of those educated left-wing elites that the Tea Baggers just can't stand. While they are out demostrating in the streets and have the time to listen to fake news on Faux News and screaming windbags on the radio, I'm working to support my family and an out-of-work daughter and son-in-law.

There are so many ironies in the Tea Party positions. The Tea Party was 'astro-turfed' into existance by powerful, wealthy elitists from right wing think tanks who don't want to pay their fair share of taxes or follow environmental laws like the rest of us. Somehow the the tea baggers have been brain washed into thinking they are working for the common worker when the opposite is true. Their actions will benefit the rich and powerful at the expense of the middle class. For example, many tea baggers were opposed to saving millions of American jobs by saving America's auto industry. Tea Baggers were against the stimulus plan that saved many of their jobs.

The Tea Baggers can't see how they are being used by the right-wing elitists. The Tea Baggers will be dumped out to fend for themselves once they have given their 'big money' 'fat cats' what they want.

Susan, may God bless you. Your views and opionion are typical of a Harvard day-dreamer.

The fantasy you speak of is core America and the true views and hopes of 70% of real Americans. That is why California voted dowm "Prop 8" to everyone's surprise. Most are against Obama/Pelosicare and spending away our future.

No real America wants as you say a "New America" because America doesn't need to be made new.

Susan, please read the Constitution and our forefather's writings. I suggest you start with the Bible at Genesis, chapter 1. After all Harvard was named after a clergyman, check in the law library if you all haven't burn them yet.

I mean, what young, as yet undecided man could look at that lover boy and not want to immerse himself in some serious bath-houseology? Looking at those puffy jowls and bugged out eyes, to say nothing of his ponderous gut... ooh, I'm getting so hot. And when he speaks... magic to my ears. Makes me wan't to close my eyes and picture Elmer Fudd, right there, large and in charge! Oh bwabwy, oh bwabwy!

We want our country back from the socialists. How hard is that to understand?

Steve of IL was in denial of reality and I just threw that in to irritate him. Although I meant it.

I don't mean he really belongs to black panthers I don't know. Largest "redistribution of wealth" is welfare. obama is bound and determined to reach new height.

Liberals are losing it. Check out the liberal articles here. Liberal comments. Most watch the polls and their fingernails have been eaten up. They lash out like a trapped animal.

Imagine their heart dropping when same sex marriage failed in liberal heaven California. 10,000x worse come Nov. 2. Prospects for following election has only nightlight.

You only have to look at the personal history of barry's czars to see barry‘s outlook. Wouldn't trust one of them.

Wavers for companies is exploding with barry attempt to keep his Congress. Companies threatening to drop their heath insurances. The regulations and heath tax. Barry said people could keep their insurance. What obma thrown on the backs of business is breaking their backs. A total mess happening. Barry back is to wall. Little he can do to get out of the quick sand.

His Watergate..

Basically all that's needed to get at the true nature of the teaparty crackpots is to write anything at all with reader's comments allowed at the bottom, stand back, and watch the parade of ignorant and racist comments unfold. When you get the idea and want to know what can be done to liberate the country from such ignorance, the answer is: make higher education universally available to America's young people. When everyone belongs to the elite it isn't an elite any more, it's the norm...

Your quote: "And obama is a black panther out to destroy the white race..."

In conjuction with Susan Milligan's quote: "But from whom--the wealthy (mostly white and male) elite..."

Even years ago, Obama has always had his "redistribution of wealth" ideas (socialistic values) ready to be set into place. Obama is quoted: "… I think when you spread the wealth around, it’s good for everybody.”

http://www.csmonitor.com/USA/Politics/The-Vote/2008/1014/obamas-tax-plan-and-the-redistribution-of-wealth

(Don't take my word for it. One can find Obama's, "redistribution of wealth" all over the net...)

Now, how does Marxism work again???
