Mitt Romney’s 'Southern Problem' is National
Tweet Share on Facebook March 8, 2012 Comment (2)Over in the U.S News Debate Club, you'll find an interesting symposium on whether the fact that former Gov. Mitt Romney has, thus far, performed poorly in Southern states constitutes a full-blown Southern problem. I had some inchoate thoughts of my own on this topic on the night of Super Tuesday. Mitt Romney Is Winning, But He’s Not 'Winning'
Tweet Share on Facebook March 7, 2012 Comment (11)After he'd absorbed the reality of Super Tuesday, in early February 2008, former Gov. Mitt Romney's Fantasy Tax Cuts
Tweet Share on Facebook February 29, 2012 Comment (4)Let's take a trip back to 1992. Then-Gov. Bill Clinton, in his campaign manifesto, said: "Middle-class taxpayers will have a choice between a children's tax credit or a significant reduction in their income tax rate."

Skipping Mitt Romney's Pity Party

Mitt Romney Hits New Low With Rick Santorum Takedown
Tweet Share on Facebook February 27, 2012 Comment (3)On the eve of the Michigan and Arizona GOP primaries, it appears that, despite some last-minute Democratic subterfuge, former Gov. Mitt Romney will eke out a victory in the state of his birth.

The Roots of the Tea Party War on Social Justice
Tweet Share on Facebook February 23, 2012 Comment (5)Since Andrew Sullivan kindly linked to my post on the ongoing proxy culture wars, I'd like to preemptively clarify what I meant by the "older intradenominational debate" over "social justice" among Catholics.
