The Down Side of Recent Job Growth

Sorry Jefferson...I meant Galupo. Having once worked for Boehner, it makes perfect sense why he would have written this piece of crap review, that really masquerades to propagate the delusion of trickle-down dementia. Congratulations Scott. You're the first American writer to slam this new work by an American Icon. What a moron.

Bill Hedges:

You often quote the CBO as an accurate source of information, while Newt calls the CBO a "socialist institution." So you are now quoting from a socialist institution?

ann keenan of MI 11:46PM March 05, 2012

ann keenan of MI _ I explained why scotty is a A**. Yes, Newt and I are on same page...

1. Newt cut taxes:

"Clinton tax hike is failing to collect over 40 percent of the projected revenue increases."

http://www.house.gov/jec/fiscal/tx-grwth/reagtxct/reagtxct.htm

2. A liberal will always quote ESTIMATES by CBO while a Conservative will quote the actual numbers.

CBO will NOT in their estimates consider the growth that occurs when reducing taxes for the rich. Is why I use the real results not CBO estimates.

"I'll keep bringing up and embarressing {embarrassing} you. "

"You are a {an} A**."

Why would a person commenting on, U.S. News and World Report, insult other contributers?

Bill Hedges:

Newt Gingrich has an opinion about the CBO that certainly differs from your own perspective of CBO? What gives? Aren't you and "The Newt" on the same page anymore?

With all these numbers you throw around can you provide a link ? Like to check it out. Is customary...

bing of AL _ Didn't you read my previous comment ? You might check out over 30 + bills passed by House that Democrat Senate won't even look at or even change and send back to House.

buma's budget buster bill was SOUNDLY DEFEATED by both parties.

Sure. Newt in fact balanced the budget. Before Newt, Bill C. balanced no budget. Newt closed down government twice to get Bill C. to sign.

As you can see from my previous comment, Bill C. tax increased didn't work. Newt's tax cut did.

"Clinton tax hike is failing to collect over 40 percent of the projected revenue increases."

http://www.house.gov/jec/fiscal/tx-grwth/reagtxct/reagtxct.htm

Newt balanced budget by cutting government spending. Among them welfare reform...

FOR THE PAST 30 YEARS....

The rich are getting "really rich", the poor are still poor and the middle glass is shrinking - maybe 10% making the upper class, 30% dropping into the poor category. The remaining 60% struggling to stay in the middle.

As a nation, we lack the will and the clarity of thought to take the necessary measures to avoid ultimate disaster.

Enjoy the downhill ride.... or not.

R.L. SCHAEFER of CA 9:23PM March 01, 2012

Nice to see Pubs concentrating so much on jobs (both state and federal level) instead of issues like contraception.

Mr. Hedges, can you name one Pub that has a bill, that can be signed in to legislation (the only kind of bill that matters), that balances the budget? All the proposals I see are budget busters. Are Pubs all talk?

bing of AL 8:38PM March 01, 2012

Scotty. No answer !!! Can't prove me wrong !!! I'll keep bringing up and embarressing you.

Ungodly Scott Galupo of VA _ How condescending a writer on this site you are...

1. “Newt didn't do anything by himself. Last time I checked, the Speaker of the House is not constitutionally empowered to enact laws without the signature of the president”

Maybe you recall CONTRACT WITH AMERICA ? Maybe you recall Bill C. refusing to sign balanced budgets ? Closing down government twice ?

2. “Further, even if I grant you that "Newt cut taxes," he didn't do so until 1997—after Clinton's reelection in '96.”

In your article, you had “"President Bill Clinton was re-elected in part because voters figured they were doing fine, even under comparatively higher tax rates”

"The 1993 Clinton tax increase appears to having the opposite effect on the willingness of wealthy taxpayers to expose income to taxation. According to IRS data, the income generated by the top one percent of income earners actually declined in 1993. This decline is especially significant since the retroactivity of the Clinton tax increase in that year limited the ability of taxpayers to deploy tax avoidance strategies, temporarily resulting in an increase in their tax burden. Moreover, according to the FY 1997 Clinton budget submission, individual income tax revenues as a share of GDP will be lower during the first four years of the Clinton tax increase, which include the effects of the 1990 tax increase, than under the last four years of the Reagan tax changes (FY 1986-89). Furthermore, according to a study published by the National Bureau for Economic Research,[2] the Clinton tax hike is failing to collect over 40 percent of the projected revenue increases."

http://www.house.gov/jec/fiscal/tx-grwth/reagtxct/reagtxct.htm

I did not say Newt’s tax cuts went into effect in Bill C. first term. Clear your mind !?!? I wrote “Newt CUT the tax rates Bill C. increased and increased government revenue...”

3. “And stop citing the CBO in your tax-cuts-increase-revenue myth. The 2001 tax cuts put at least a $2 trillion hole in the budget, as even this Bush-friendly report admits:

http://www.taxfoundation.org/blog/show/27364.html ”

You are a A**. Will give quick answer. Read my CBO quote:

"According to the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO), the Bush tax cuts actually shifted the total tax burden farther toward the rich so that in 2000-2004, total income tax paid by the top 40% of income-earners grew by 4.6% to 99.1% of the total."

http://www.americanthinker.com/2010/03/lying_about_bushs_tax_cuts

Not a “myth” but FACT. Congress spend WHOLE BUNCH. Check out link you have provided brother. Maybe you did not know this WHIZ KID, you can get a bigger pay check and OUTSPEND IT. That’s called debt. See your link. About after loss of revenue, notice any RECESSION OCCURING ??? THEN, Bush warned year he was elected about Bill C. mess...
