Republicans Can Finally Be As Conservative as They Wanna Be

History repeats itself. Rightwingers are pulling hard to the far right trying to prime the pump for fascism like the lunatic fascist populism that emerged during the Great Depression in Europe. Resist these hate talkers who are making big bucks feeding you lies that get ya all riled up.

Desperate times drags out the worst out of desperate people, but there are lots of these conservative provocateurs out there trying to stir up the hate and fear straight out of the Nazi party playbook, and we need to put our foot down on this BS.

Do some of the Teabaggers and right-wing talking heads really believe all the crap they write about??? Facts is what we need t o look at, and the true fact is that it was the Republican Party that brought us down and caused the financial mess we are in. Facts, it was a Republican Congress that cut taxes for the rich without figuring out how to compensate for the lack of funds. As usual, they, the Republicans, put the burden on Main Street. It is the Republican Party who fought against health care reform, it was the Republicans who pushed for de-regulation of the banks, I guess they all convienently forgot about Phil "Foreclosure" Gramm who rammed de-regulation down our throats without considering the consequences for the nation. It was the Plutocrat Republicans who left millions of families without homes, jobs, pensions and drained savings accounts while cuddling the banking industry. The Republicans had years to make a positive impact on the nation but chose to work with the lobbyist and against their constituents. Both the Republican and Democrats have much to fear this coming election. Neither one has delivered for the nation but continues to 'make-out' in the pockets of the lobbyist and special interest groups. We need to demand term limits and jail time for those legislators who sell out the nation by kowtowing to the lobbyist. Our legislators are like whores who sell out to the highest bidder. The GOP has much to fear, since their lies, their strategy of distortion, distraction and deception is no longer working. They only thing they achieved is to open the eyes of many to how hypocritical they are and how they have deceived the voter and taxpayer.....but not for long. The Good Ole Boys are on their way out....for good.

that the 'party-line' voters have woken up. I was one of them - straight-ticket Republican, never voted in primaries - until Sept. 11, 2001. THAT woke me up. And I will never go back to that apathetic, take-my-freedom-for-granted person again -

Both political parties took advantage of the electorate's apathy. WE, those who are living through this critical point of our history, must never return to the apathy that allowed our government officials to take us to this point.

No more crying over spilt milk - let's take our country, our factual history and the true meaning of the U.S. Constitution back from these statists starting in November - and begin the re-education of America's history and values - life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness-endowed by our creator - to our children and grand-children.

I must disagree on several points. Extremism is used to descibe the path Obama and the leftist progressives are taking us down and their agenda. They want people in need and dependant on the goverment not only for their votes but also for more control over the masses. Mind you this is not from Rush or Hannity, this is of my own observations.

How can you call it greed just because I want to keep more of what I've earned? I don't make alot. I've worked two jobs for many years and my wife has worked to get us where we are. That's what's great about America, if you want it you can get it. Just get up and out and do it, yes it's not easy but you can do it, hell ,we've lived in a tent to save money for an

apartment. To many people expect to much to fast with minimal effortof their own. That's how we ended up with people owning houses THEY KNEW they couldn't pay for( along with the C.R.A.).

How do you call it greed when 10% pay 60% of the taxes? 47% pay no income tax, they in most cases get a rebate.

I don't understand how you can call Rush and Hannity ( may as well throw Beck into the mix) gurus of greed. Rush does nothing but promote people to be they best they can be through hard work and effort of their own. All three point out true history and how we're being scammed by big goverment today. Again, I didn't need to be told by them, in my eyes it's common sense and history. The goverment is holding the country and people back.

I would like to ask you as I have asked many democrats( progressives) on these blogs to point out some goverment on programs that work. An entitlement that isn't near bankrupt or is already. A program that is within or under budget. What is the goverment doing right? What are they doing right that would give people a good feeling they can take on more and to give them more tax money to spend? How about they do something right before we give them more faith and money. It's like a bad contractor working on your house, why keep using him?

I do agree with what you've said before, there needs to be a " saftey net", but for the few, not the many.

The mood is and will swing. The constant threat of an overbearing and more controlling goverment is swinging it. People are waking up.

Extremism--a favorite word of Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity in reference to the Obama administration--is fast becoming a favorite word for those on the Left and in the middle. They see the push for less government, lower taxes, and strict constitutionalism for what it is--the old mine/yours game called greed. I earned mine, you're on the dole. Pat me on the back and shame on you. Being tired of taxes--we all are

--is one thing, being just plain greedy is another. It's extremism Right.

Galupo is not only Right, he's right: the mood of the electorate could cause the backlash he sees as possible. Nobody really wants what the furthest Right is ready to bring: austerity. Not in a country this rich and with 90% of the "rich" owned by 10% of the population. Fools inhabit that universe--the kinds of fool fooled easily by the daily diatribes of Limbaugh, Hannity, and the rest of their now abundant ilk.

The world just isn't made up only of folks capable of going it on their own, nobody left behind. Government IS the barrier to such exploitation as was the case in the Middle Ages, when the few had the wealth, the many the risk (a whole lot left behind). Yes, we all OUGHT to be able to work hard, carry our load, and make things better for ourselves and others, but the reality is that very few of us are rewarded for effort alone. We're rewarded for success in that much less populous realm called "Achievement," which relatively few can attain and too

many are seduced into thinking is "the way things ought to be"

(sounds like and is a book title). Well, I'm here to say enough of the nonsense. Too many will never be able to go it on their own, the reality being too many will be enslaved trying, thanks to, guess what, greed. Finite resources spread 90/10 won't work favorably for 100% of the people. Do the math.

Do I sound socialist? Spread the wealth? Not at all. I sound more like stop the nonsense--as in stop listening to Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, the gurus of greed. They deserve lower audience ratings and their listeners will deserve credit when they detach, having learned better.

What is being spread by the farthest Right, what Galupo says might backfire, is reactionary and simple-minded. It will steal all hope and replace it with an America no one will recognize, an America not even Thomas Jefferson would recognize. Fortunately for us, a lot of people are beginning to see that quite clearly.

Animals in the wild need no supervision, a bird of prey and a goat understand what is necessary for them to survive. In a zoo helpless animals depend on their keepers, without them they would starve to death. Peace and order is needed for the US to survive as a nation, rioting by discontents must be avoided. Uncle Sam is needed as a zoo keeper, his job is to make sure that all the animals are properly fed, peace and order must be maintained at all costs.

You might have noticed while you were over at Real Clear Politics that the Republicans have lost their lead on the generic ballot. They're now down to a half-point lead from around 3 points a couple of weeks ago. Now, I don't necessarily know how this is going to shape up in individual races, but a few more months of job creation could really alter the complexion of these elections.

BTW, Glenn, conservatives were the ones who started using the word "teabagging" to describe their own activism. Here's where I first heard the term "teabagging" in this context:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MygMhZyK2wc

Note that Rachel Maddow makes all her teabagging jokes in reference to conservative TV appearances, internet postings, and protest signs. The Tea Partiers started using the word to describe themselves, and liberals couldn't resist the urge to quote The Princess Bride and say, "You keep using that word. I don't think it means what you think it does." Is it getting old by now? Yes. But it's not something liberals made up.

Your insults of Darrell's comment are unjustified. He has stated the truth about the GOP perfectly well. High end tax cuts ruined the economy and the GOP wants nothing but to do more high end tax cuts.

Muser of NM 12:06AM May 12, 2010

Correction, Jimmy Carter got the C.R.A. going, Clinton with Janet Reno and Chris Dodd, Barney Frank, Maxine Waters and Franklin Raines kept it going despite warnings.

Jimmy Carter also brought us the Department of Energy to get us off of middle east oil and for the U.S. to be energy independant. At a budget of 58 billion dollars today it's not and has not worked very well, has it?

Jimmy Carter also gave us the Department of Education. At an average cost of 12,000$ per student per year, and a budget of over 60 billion per year, we have failing students and a system that pushes a political agenda, not working so well.

Bottom line, goverment isn't the answer.

Darrell is a typical party hack thats learned his talking points very well, otherwise he has nothing of substance to say.

Hunter of WI 9:37PM May 11, 2010

First: Darrell - Barney Frank is a teabagger. We are the Tea Party. I know most liberals are so enamored of gay porn that they can't help but use words that reference it, but at least try to get it right.

Second: Speaking of Barney Frank, the GOP, while contributing to the problem, is certainly NOT the only culprit in the economic meltdown. Frank was having sex with one of the executives from the industry he was SUPPOSED to be watching - of course, no one cares about THAT. The Democrats and the Clinton Admin got the whole ball rolling with the Community Reinvestment Act, mandating that banks make bad loans that any idiot would know were never going to be paid back. Clinton basically left that slow-burn fuse smoldering, knowing someone else would pay the price. Couple that with Barney Frank trying to bed every Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac executive he could find, and the Wall Street watchdogs who were supposed to see all this coming asleep at their posts, and what happened was really inevitable.

Third: Darrell obviously believes that people who use terms like 'teabagger' are the reasonable majority. We call them 'extreme left-wing moonbats. Not to worry - the left will be reduced to nothing come November.
