Cut Taxes? That's Racism!

"But it's a matter of record that some of their economic empowerment ideas were indeed—and self-admittedly—socialist. Randolph and Du Bois (briefly) were even members of the Socialist Party."

SFW????? (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0111048/ for acronym explaination)

People abuse people, not socialism that abuses people. Socialism means justice for all, not just the few WASPs in this country, and thereby is foreshadowed in the constitution.

"Diuguid's inability to conceive that being black and socialist are unrelated is nothing more than the same racist reductionism he accuses others of."

Yawn. Booooooring. Fighting racism does not a racist make. In this topsy turvy rationializing mode of sloppy "thinking", it would be reasonable to have a vindictive ex-prom queen who buys her popularity by giving money to her subjects be a VP, it would be reasonable to have the high-ranking Repub declare that "since CO2 is not toxic, there's no problem with it whatsoever ..."

Oh wait! That ALREADY HAPPENED

Can't you people think of a new line?

"I oppose racism"

"Aha! therefor YOU must be a racist?"

What, you think we're stupid? Good. Underestimation is the epitaph of the dead.

"Oh, and for the record, Hoover (and plenty others) also had some choice words about Marx and Engels, who were white."

Just because Hoover accused other than African-Americans, doesn't mean he wasn't a racist, who used code words like socialist.

PWNED!!

Time to dump the Republican Socialism that has driving this economic collapse.

For the past eight years, Bush and McCain have consistently sided against the average American in "redistributing the wealth" to the rich. Bush will go down as the most socialist president for his bailout for bankers and wall street brokers. McCain is desperate to preserve the tax cuts to filthy rich at the expense of raising taxes on the rest of us.

Thanks Palin, for bringing up the subject, especially as you boast of your windfall profit taxes on oil companies - just about the most socialistic tax in the country.

Regime change begins at the top and is required for the country to move beyond these bums.

If I have to work to support myself and my family, everyone that is physically able should do the same. I don't see how the liberal illuminati are all for giving away our tax dollars for the lazy woman who chooses to have children with no job and benefits, or for her out of work boyfriend or husband to live off of her instead of working to support his family.

I think it would be great if we could see socialism for what it is: a recognistion that we are not all born with great ability, and that we, each, have a responsibility to help one another. I wonder if societal evolution will ever result in such behavior?

It's true that we do have socialistic programs in our country, and many of them are facing financial difficulty. But all these difficulties are based on rules, (laws) made by man. Just looking at one, Social Secutity, it is simply illogical that only the first $102,000, or there abouts, is taxed for that purpose. Why not tax everyones income for SS purposes. It really doesn't make sense to allow people to pay themselves hundreds of millions of dollars, or demand such large incomes because they were born with the ability to entertain us, and not have them contribute to the welfare of those whose life has not given them similar advantages, and abilities to make such outlandish salaries. The same rasoning can be applied to many of other social programs.

An Obama presidency would be dangerous for the following reasons:

1. money re-distribution. A system (such as a nation) lives as it is able to receive, transfer, and utilize energy to adapt to its challenges. A living system, such as a nation, needs to work on getting new energy, not moving what is already there to other parts. Such leads to eventual starvation of the system and to its decay. You tax businesses out of business and the employees loose their job. That's us folks.

2. experience - a 47 year old newbee to Congress has the understanding to lead all the national agencies of our country including the Department of Defense, State, Energy, Treasury, and so forth. I rather doubt it.

3. pie in the sky thinking: His goals sound good. He has no way to accomplish them or pay for them.

4. leadership qualities do not a leader make. Many of the greatest tyrants had great charisma, intelligence, and leadership ability. It matters where the leader wants to take us.

5. I can't vote for anyone who voted to allow the killing of a child who was born. It is too cold hearted.

6. Dubious associates and unwillingness to take responsibility: Rev. Wright's church with its radical and racist message: I didn't know about it says Obama. He was my pastor, says Obama, but I didn't really listen. ??? Ayers - didn't know about his views even though they were political confidants and he staffed one of Ayers's organizations. ACORN? Shoot I gave them almost a million dollars but I didn't know they were inventing voters out of mid air. I wonder did Obama realize that it was ACORN and other associated groups that lobbied a Democratic congress to pass legislation forcing banks to loan to people who were not able to pay back the money which has lead to the current financial crisis and collapse. Leadership is not about passing the buck, fancy language, camouflage, manipulation, and so forth. Obama is for the poor middle class person? Baloney. He's rich, he's connected, he's conniving, and he is not different from those he rails against. I can't vote for him. But I suspect he will win. I just hope that our nation as a system will be able to endure his leadership. History will tell us.

Go Sell Crazy somewhere else...over seas preferably. This is not a perfect country but it is also not a 3rd world country either! Keep it up it will be. By the way I think the founders of this country would definitely think socialism is a dirty word. Be careful what you wish for you just might get it. That fabulous health care you can't wait for ... hope none of you are over 60 and get diagnosed with cancer or heart failure you can kiss it goodbye.

Bush/McCain are just as guilty of socialism--Bush more than anyone. If we are to have socialism, as it seems that the two major parties push on us, I'd prefer the money be spent on domestic affairs rather than overseas.

What? You didn't notice that our beloved federal government gives welfare checks to Saudi Arabia? Israel? Pakistan? Iraq? etc, etc. We need to get out of the international welfare business first, then look at changing our domestic welfare, for god's sake.

What Obama is proposing in tax cuts at least goes toward preserving the middle class, he is not proposing to increase welfare benefits, so get a grip already. He's not saying "let's give all the unemployed bums your money." Capitalism will not survive, especially given it's weakened form, without a decent middle class. McCain continues Bush's assault against the middle class with "trickle-down" economics.

No way I'd vote for McCain, lower taxes, my ass.

Another conservative for McCain of PA 2:47AM October 23, 2008

He is not going to cut taxes to pay down the debt or put it toward the government. He is going to take 40% of the money and give it to people who pay no taxes now. That means he is taking my money and giving it to someone else because he thinks they deserve it. It has nothing to do with color. It is taking from those who earned it and giving to those who have not earned it. In other words Socialism

The writer who suggested socialism is a code word racists use to deem blacks must believe if a traffic turns red just as a black driver arrives , the light is racist.

With all do respect to the above poster I strongly disagree. Public schools, currently run by the federal gov't are a colossal failure. Obama's solution is to throw more money at the problem rather than implement change, the very word that he bases his campaign on. The facts show that since the Kennedy administration we have increased spending on education every year since, yet we achieve the same old poor results. The schools need competition, charter schools and vouchers should be encouraged, and the parents NOT the gov't should decide where and how to have their children educated. Did you know that Obama sends his daughters to a private school where kindergarten prices start at over 15,ooo dollars and high school is over 25,000. When asked why he sends them there he replied" It's the best option for me and my family" yet his plan wouldn't allow others to choose like he did. He is controlled by the teachers union lobby who are adamantly opposed to change and don't want accountability.

Public parks and libraries are not funded with federal tax money but rather with state dollars and issuances of municipal bonds etc. Only national parks like Grand Canyon or Smoky Mt. are run by the fed. gov't.

The only thing that you mention that is truly socialist in nature is S.S, Medicaid, and Medicare. Seeing that these entitlement programs are currently 55 TRILLION dollars underfunded and heading towards insolvency I don't think I would point to that model to make the aurgument that Socialism is an efficient and superior system.

As far as national, gov't run healthcare I guess you have more confidence in gov't than me. They can't even run the post office and you want them running something as big and as expensive as healthcare. Ask California how the state run system is working(it's bankrupt). I never hear of anyone going to Canada to have heart surgery or a kidney transplant. I've also never heard of anyone stateside who has to wait 4 months to have a chest x-ray or ct scan like they do in Canada.

Socialism was, and never will be a better system than free market capitalism. Give the american people the power and choices to direct their lives, they can do a far better job handling their lives than big gov't!!
