Darwin Believers Hide Fears of Intelligent Design Behind a Wall of Denial and Ridicule

First off, to say that religion is responsible for 'billions' of deaths is patently false. I'm not saying that it isn't responsible for many deaths, but not billions. In fact, if you were to take the number of deaths caused by Christianity and all other religions combined over the past 1,000 years you might get close to 10,000,000 (and that's being generous). But in contrast if you were to look at the # of deaths caused by those 'intolerant' to religion in just the past 110 years you would find a number around 100,000,000 (being conservative). The argument that religion is such an evil thing is absurd. More deaths have been due to automobiles, aircraft, and machinery than religion can claim. But to put a fine point on it...this argument has no bearing on this article.

The author is specifically stating that religious views have been inserted (unjustly) into the ID movement by its opponents. This is just what you have done; disregarded his statements and tried a bait and switch. It fails miserably. I find the authors comments interesting to say the least. I have followed the debate for a while now, between ID proponents, Darwin skeptics and Darwinism supporters. My conclusion thus far is this: Darwinism as a theory isn't sound based upon the criteria required by philosophers of Science like Popper, Kuhn, Lakatos, Toulmin, & others.

What I have seen is some slippery definitions, overstated 'consensus', (sometimes) total misrepresentations and logical fallacies used in argument for Darwinian theory. To the uninformed it would appear the debate is indeed over. The claim that ID isn't science is made often. It is said by people like Harris, Dawkins and others that because it can't be falsified or disproved, then it isn't science. Yet, people like Harris, Dawkins and others (including non-philosophers of science, but rather biologists etc.)continue to use 'scientific' evidence to 'disprove' ID assertions. I don't know if they realize that by the mere fact of their 'falsification' of ID scientists assertions, they have refuted their own argument about ID 'not being real science'.

What I see is a polarization in progress. A battle for power being waged in the arena of public opinion. Right now we are in the midst of side A demonizing side B, while side B attempts to 'set the record straight' about what it states.

Dawkins and his ilk have proven that ID is a valid scientific hypothesis and as such should be afforded the same rights and privileges as any other hypothesis, namely being allowed to alter its position based upon evidence that refutes one portion of its former assertion.

For those who would argue that the burden of proof is on the side of ID I would agree that it is. But, if I were a Darwin supporter I would be careful about phrases like 'overwhelming evidence' to support modern evolutionary synthesis. When 'ease of evidence' is claimed, formally, the burden of proof shifts from the antagonist to the proponent.

It seems painfully clear to me, that the deadly plague of Christianity and the Religious Right will never be soaked in enough blood, tears, injustices, racial hatred, and decaying potentials of innocent human beings and all of Mother Natures biodiversity until all is destroyed. All of this intolerant and contradictory hypocrisy must stop immediately for any remaining chances of this nation and earth to heal from its onslaught of cold-blooded destruction and endless slaughter of innocent brothers (all men, women, and yes sadly children).

How many more have to die? How much more of the planet must become a heart wrenching tragedy, while also destroying our chances of sustaining future life, right along with it? None of you single god theorists are free of sin. None of you stick to your doctrines and scriptures, unless it generates more, unearned, and undeserved cold hard cash for you to invest into your private castles and mansions, living a life of luxury that your devoted and miserable slaves will never have. If your beliefs were legit, if you even believed in them realistically yourselves, you would never have the need or desire to rekindle such ancient hateful bigotry and mindless ignorance avoiding all reason and rational (AND INDEPENDENT!!!) thought from those in your perish. Your sheep/slaves are waking up to this Santa Clause ridiculous excuse to self destruct, you blame intellectuals (or everyone/thing else but the image in your mirror, just like you refuse any and all blame throughout your entire existence) when simply weaving intellect and logical reason into your fairy tale would have potentially brought you the horrible domination of a planet awash in blood, dead hope surrounded by the agonizing cries of the dying innocents that you so desperately crave. Did your gods not order you to obey him and upon those orders, where you not automatically sentenced to the burning pits of hell if you did not obey? Then why, do you sit in judgment of others that have never committed a single crime against you or what you stand for when your master ordered you to judge not – least ye be judged! Why have you, for over 2,000 years gloried and relished in the murder (some of the most gory and gruesome in human history I might add) of billions since you began and continue to do so today when your master ordered you – to not kill!

You wouldn't even believe it, if anyone ever claimed to be the second coming of Jesus. Did he leave a picture last time he was here? Maybe have moses chip it into the stone tablet so that you knew what he would look like and refrain your blood thirsty fangs from devouring him?

I came across this, sad and horrifically all too common message from your god and he says he hates you for what you your coherts have done to this beautiful world of life he supposedly created just for you.

hog wash ..religon The christian religon was made to control people and make servants of you ...good job they did too ...christians live in the matrix its a mental one ..open your eyes ..i say that knowing you wont ..for it is you that stands behind a wall of denial ..im not sure i totally believe in darwinism but i seen enough chritianity to know that burying your head in the sand of blind faith isnt the way either open your eyes ..your not even a tool ..your puppets
