bill hedges . . . I stand corrected and used a poor adjective. However, am I that far off? Social Security is a true "social" program. It rewards those who pay a minimum in that they get a bigger return on their minimal investment. The program is designed to punish those who pay the maximum in that they get a minimal return on their investment. Those who fall between the hashmarks are essentially dependent on a less than generous portion for their monthly benefit. Essentially, all lower to middle income wage earners become dependent on that monthly check to post to their account.

Additionally, SSA's welfare roles are filled with folks whose disability does not meet the criteria for disability but yet get a monthly disability check courtesy of liberal administrative law judges.

Here's a solution to Social Security:

--Ween people from the government tit by increasing early retirement from 62 to 72.

--Change SSA rule to a dollar for dollar offset regarding post retirement work and earnings.

--Force mandatory financial principles instruction grades K-12.

--Force private corporations to adhere to the retirement benefits they promise employees.

--Encourage, through compulsary means, every corporation to provide a private retirement plan for employees.

--Change the trade imbalance to grow American jobs.

--Mandate a pre-tax dollar, private, retirement savings account for every American so they can fund their retirement at their discretion.

--Permit Americans to re-invest up to 50% of their own FICA tax into their private retirement account.

--Eliminate the "this generation pays for that generation" pyramid scheme.

--Pare Medicare to just bare bones essential services.
