Human Weather Vane Mitt Romney Shifts on Payroll Tax Cut

Good job, , Robert, of somehow equalizing to very different statements.

In on, Romney states that he does not support this particular type of tax break on the grounds that it will/does not do what the Left and Obama says it will - ie - create jobs.

In the other Romney states that he would be in favor of this breaks solely because it puts sorely needed back in the pockets of those who need it the most.

Zero equivalency there, and not even coming close to passing the smell test of being a "flip-flop".

No wonder you are not known for your intellect.

Mike of Ca:

The equation of fundamental differences between the "varying" stances of Romney vs. Obama can analogized with Newt Gingrich's admission of having one extamarital affair (rather than having "several" extramarital affairs). Overwheming evidences are shown anywhere one choses to look that Obama has had, and is continuing to have, extramarital affairs with virtually every woman in Cook County, Illinios!

So, please do not hand me Obama superlatives at ANY level. Not unlike most who read these columns, I've outgrown the games of "Blind Man's Bluff" that you, apparently, are so well in to.

(PS: ...the word is "latter")

You touched on just a few of John Wayne's examples. I promise you google has many, many more.

From list of 10,in my link, here is one you wish to challenge. Can find more you challeged there as well. Maybe if you read the links given by John, my comment would be unnessary:

"1. Keeping Guantanamo open"

"Undoubtedly Obama’s biggest flip-flop, his decision to keep the Guantanamo detention facility in operation has outraged his liberal supporters and ‘shocked’ European governments, who, needless to say, had overwhelmingly declined to take large numbers of dangerous terror suspects off the hands of the US government."

"As a presidential candidate in 2008, Obama had condemned President Bush for supposedly “running prisons which lock people away without telling them why they’re there or what they’re charged with”, and signed an executive order shutting the facility down immediately upon taking office. Two years later Guantanamo still holds 172 detainees, and plays a vital role in the long war against Islamist terrorism."

John Wayne,

There is a fundamental difference between changing positions because of political headwinds (e.g., Guantanamo) or because of a change in realities on the ground (e.g., Mubarek) and changing positions because of changing polls or for pure political expediency. Obama is an example of the former; Romney is a sad example of the later.

"Reminder: Obama’s Played More Golf in 2 Yrs. Than Bush Did Both Terms"

"Between 2000 and 2008 one of the left’s most cherished ways to ridicule President Bush was to point out how often he went golfing. Bush’s golfing was a clear sign that he was ignoring the work he had to do in Washington and that he just didn’t care they claimed. He was a playboy, a goof off, a time waster. But now that Barack Obama has come to office all of a sudden the left has found that golf isn’t worth noting, even as Obama has played the game more in just under two years than Bush did during his entire eight-year term."
