Michele Bachmann Promoted Bizarre, Revisionist View of Slavery

I heard about Bachmann's "Must Read List" tonight on NPR & am appalled to think that she could even be considered a candidadte by either party!

You lack proof. "Maybe" worms in your insults.

What would liberal do without "one liners"

For Bachmann to even recognize a book that suggests that slavery was good for the slaves, mush less put on her 'must-read' book list, means Bachmann is either dumb as a rock or believes slavery was ok.

Maybe this is Bachmann's Southern Strategy to get in good with the klan.

What's wrong Cinderella, nancy boy of MN? Still can't seem to figure out why your left footed slipper doesn't fit on the right foot?

I am not speaking of "one person or group" . But rather of nearly all schools, media, politicians and journalists.

Further, Michele Bachmann did not practice revisionist history - she merely listed a book on her website that misguidedly attempted to put a modified happy face on slavery in America. Schlesinger was just looking for some "out of context" mud to throw at Bachmann.

Furthermore, to some extent Wilkens' position is valid. I'm quite certain that being a slave in America was preferable to being one in Africa, or a slave of, let's say, the Aztecs or Mayans.

Every race or religion of people has been slave or master at some point in their history.

it;s lacks creditability to say that just because one person,or group, practices revisionist history,or misspeaks, that it;s justification for everybody to engage in such conduct and finger pointing.that argument just wont pass the smell test.

The truth of the matter is that powerful African tribes conquered their less powerful neighbors keeping the survivors for slaves and concubines for themselves, and selling the surplus to whites.

North, Central and South American Indians also practiced slavery, genocide, wars for territorial gain, polygamy, spousal and child abuse, human sacrifice, patriarchal government and, in many cases, cannibalism.

Perhaps someone should alert Professor Churchill, Reverend Jackson, Dr. Farrakahn, Reverend Wright, Reverend Sharpton and their historical revisionist cronies.

Now Robert, tell me, where exactly is the moral high ground? Where is your rage that the truth is not being taught?

Now, go play nice and stop picking Michele.

Bachmann's supporters carry the same level of intellect as she. That is to say, they are irredeemably stupid, incapable of even the most elementary logic, blatantly and willfully ignorant--and prideful of this ignorance, insistent on demonstrably wrong "facts," and ill-equipped to carry intelligent, adult discussions.

She didn't list this revisionist tome as "must read" in order to decry how wrong it is as the genius who said basically "just because I call the Communist Manifesto must-read doesn't mean I support its theses." You see, genius, by looking at the fact that the thesis of that book aligns with statements Michelle has made, combined with no disavowal or explanation of how it got on the list, those of us over here in Rational Land can conclude she listed the decrepit piece of scholarship and revisionism because largely supported its theses. This is what we commonly call "logic." If I thought you had the mental facility to understand how to engage this wonderful tool of reason, I'd explain further.

I bet most of you mouth breathing imbeciles have velcro-fastened shoes because you can't figure out how to tie knots. A banner day for you is getting the right shoe on the right foot within the first three tries.

Actually, if a book is listed as "must read," then you must assume that its thesis is largely supported by the person listing the book. And that doesn't make you a "jackass," it makes you intelligent.

Such snobbish arrogance coming from someone who isn't even qualified to hold her purse.
