Bachmann, 'All In' for 2012, Wants Glenn Beck to Fix the Deficit

The cacophony still sounds like traditional party dribble. I see two patterns emerging that the bulk of the people may not realize yet

1) The traditional conservative/liberal arguments are receding. The real discussion is whether we choose to continue a government based on American style Constitutionalism or do we continue steering the ship toward totalitarianism?

2) When you rob from Peter to pay Paul, you can always count on the support of Paul. After several decades of nearly continuous and unreasonable deficit spending, people are starting realize Peter is just the future Paul. We've screwed ourselves for a long time and a balanced budget is just the first step on a long journey back to terra firma.

That's my two cents of free thought.

Everything in the universe is relative. Yes, to normal, objective, rational citizens, Michelle Bachmann sound like she is off her rocker, out to lunch, nuttier than a fruit cake. But to the GOP faithful, the true believers, the tea-party fundamentalists, everything she says makes sense and has the air of the gospel truth.

Michelle Bachmann is an authoritarian, and like all authoritarians throughout history, she makes up her own truth to fit her world view. To her, all sorts of weird and irrational things are possible. It is entirely conceivable that the government is out to destroy America, that our children will have to pay 70% or 75% of their income in taxes, that the President is a terrorist and that Glenn Beck has all of the answers to everything.

What IS crazy is the fact that Michelle Bachmann is mainstream in today's Republican party! And whats even crazier is that the majority of voters in this country seem to be clueless about this fact. The Achilles' heel of all democracies is the fact that crazy people can be elected. Hitler was. So was Mussolini. It would seem that a great many people prefer to be told what to think and do, rather than to have to think and do for themselves. In essence, the people who identify as Republican have become that which they claim to hate the most, destroyers of free-thought and democracy.

Beck and Backmann need to fix themselves first before they can fix anything else. The crazies are now on TV.

That someone nutty will ascend to the presidency of the United States? Considering the nut we currently have in the oval office, anything would be better than the current...even if it's replacing a nut for a nut. To be honest, someone would have to be nutty for even wanting to be president.

You are early with this story, April fools day is still a month away. She should get on Comedy Central, she is funnier than Larry the Cable Guy.
