Agreed, austin yekpabo of PA

Question is whether the rest of us want another village idiot trying to destroy this country by starting wars and spending like a drunken republican in a whorehouse.

The vacuum in the leadership of the republican party is too apparent when the best hope is some dope smoking hippie chick from Alaska who only arouses the anti-government crazies, the closeted kkk clowns and other conservative perverts

You say “GW as having a silver foot in his mouth”, are you sure she was referring to G.W. ???

“Barack Obama: With A 'Silver Foot' In His Mouth”

by Martha Zoller

05/15/2007

“Ann Richards delivered the best political one liner in history at the Democratic Convention of 1988. She said of the first President Bush, “Poor, George…He was born with a silver foot in his mouth.”

“A couple of instances showed that Sen. Obama may not be ready for the scrutiny that comes with detailing his positions on issues. First, he went to the Detroit Economic Club to a resounding reception that was quickly cooled when instead of talking about issues like health care, he decided to bite the hand that fed them -- automakers and by extension, oil companies.”

“Not only did he go after the industry that makes Motown run, but he also got his facts wrong.

"At one point during the Detroit Economic Club speech he asserted that Japanese cars average 45mpg when in actuality, it is more like 30mpg. Another problem is characterizing them as “Japanese” cars when most of the plants of Japanese auto makers selling to the American customer are in America and creating good paying American jobs.”

“...Sen. Obama said... “In case you missed it, this week; there was a tragedy in Kansas. Ten thousand people died -- an entire town destroyed.” He mentioned the tornado in order to politicize the event and to give erroneous information that had been passed on some path from Gov. Kathleen Sebelius to him that there were problems in the clean up due to the Kansas National Guard and equipment being in Iraq.”

“... This response disregarded the multiple interviews with residents of Greensburg, Kansas, who were satisfied with the response to the tragedy in their lives as well as the Kansas National Guard saying they were able to respond for now. The National Guard is always stretched and more so now in Iraq, but they are getting the job done. “

“Interestingly, to get the National Guard up to speed all the time will take money. The only candidate talking about specific numbers of increased defense spending is Gov. Mitt Romney.”

I am sure that it is not politically correct to call a woman a village idiot. Bot with some of the pronouncements of this former Alaskan governor, one has no choice but to wonder how much intelligence she has...what about her new Sputnik comment....the late governor of Texas referred to GW as having a silver foot in his mouth, I wonder what we have to call palin for all her gaffes. is this the best the country has to offer?

Of course, if the American press did not give her the audience to continually make a fool of herself, what other comic relief moments would we have? Keep up the goof work, Palin!

John F. Kennedy, Ronald Reagan, Newt/Clinton, and G.W. Bush all decreased taxes on rich. In each case rich paid MORE in taxes to IRS. How, investing & creating jobs. Gave us longest BULL MARKET. Lining everyday persons IRA's and retirement accounts.

Even with increased revenue to government, Congress CAN and DOES spend more money than coming resulting in debt.

You were specific to Ronny so here are his numbers:

“To help offset this tax increase and also to improve incentives to work, save, and invest, President Reagan proposed sweeping tax rate reductions during the 1980s. What happened? Total tax revenues climbed by 99.4 percent during the 1980s, and the results are even more impressive when looking at what happened to personal income tax revenues. Once the economy received an unambiguous tax cut in January 1983, income tax revenues climbed dramatically, increasing by more than 54 percent by 1989 (28 percent after adjusting for inflation).”

“The Reagan tax cuts”

“The share of income taxes paid by the top 10 percent of earners jumped significantly, climbing from 48.0 percent in 1981 to 57.2 percent in 1988. The top 1 percent saw their share of the income tax bill climb even more dramatically, from 17.6 percent in 1981 to 27.5 percent in 1988.”

“Harmful Spending & Complexity”

“Lower tax rates are important, but they are not the only critical issue. Both the level of government spending and where that money goes are very important. And even when looking only at tax policy, tax rates are just one piece of the puzzle. If certain types of income are subject to multiple layers of tax, as occurs in the current system, that problem cannot be solved by low rates. Similarly, a tax system with needless levels of complexity will impose heavy costs on the productive sector of the economy.”

The Reagan Tax Cuts are the source of our deficit spending habits and the start of a callous bad faith in government to not do its best for its people.

With all the Reagan nostalgia, maybe we should take a seriously look at the numerous problems Reagan left us with. Need we look any farther than our current problems with Iran. Look at the radical Muslim regime Reagan propped up with the Iran-Contra Sales of weapons and his negotiated release of the US embassy hostages timed to influence our own elections.

Don't get me wrong I admire Reagan but he was no angel, just another flawed American pol with a silver tongue well-trained in Hollywood.

For conservatives to milk Reagan's worst policies just brings back the bad memories of Reagan and the messes he left.

Palin is an insult to Reagan and to Americans for grandstanding on Reagan's memory and bringing out the worst of it.

You are as nutty, if not more so, than writer of this article. It takes a twisted mind to surmise Sarah spoke bad of Reagan. I do hope such knuckleheads go to your site and stay...

Bill Hedges of MO 1:11AM January 30, 2011

This is the most UNpartriotic thing she could do and it takes the cake, even for Palin put guns in people’s hands (literally) and incites them with her right-wing extremism. There is no stopping her and she refuses to back down or even tone it down. This is a prime example... it couldn't be in poorer taste. I drew a visually commentary about this very thing on my artist's blog at http://dregstudiosart.blogspot.com/2011/01/sarah-palin-made-me-do-it.html

Mary, Gorbachev was not trying to end the Soviet system. He wanted to reform it because they couldn't keep up. SDI and our defense build up was part of that as well as Reagan's secret deals to lower the price of oil at the same time and bankrupt them. Reagan's strong rhetorical stance made a big impact as well.

Of course, thankfully there was a Gorbachev there to try something new. Things were very bad back then in Russia, but they had been that way all along ever since the communists took over. Most Americans never having been there don't properly connect to how bad off the civilian sector was in the Soviet Union.

Liz, what are you talking about?

will Rand of FL 5:00PM January 28, 2011

Jennifer, geesh. How can you guys always assume people don't know what they are talking of? Of course, Russians built and launched Sputnik, as well entered into a space-race which was part of the larger arms-race. "In things" means in their efforts....I would think you'd have been able to see that.

They tried to match us with things like Sputnik (their program), the space-race and arms race.

Is that not clear enough for you?

Will Rand of FL 4:51PM January 28, 2011

Not even a good job of misinterpretation. This and pitiful attempt to assign Keynesian" to JFK is showing shooter in AZ not being affected by TEA has unhinged your nerves. Take a extended break from here like John A. Farrell.

Really, Ron Reagan !!! Next you will bring up McCain’s daughter. But why not, authors here bring up Palins’s kids. Maybe Robert, you remember this quote.

>>>“"Have You No Sense of Decency" ? <<
