Newt Gingrich's Weird 'Ground Zero Mosque' Criticism of Obama

For Cousin Vinny and those who agree with him: I came from a liberal Democratic New York City family. I have never voted for a Republican in my life, but I'm considering changing my ways. The reason is Islam. You can make sarcastic jokes and clever (but empty) remarks all you like. Muslims are different from any other political enemy. They can't be compared to other disagreeable or even dangerous groups. Imagine a mix of Nazism and religious fundamentalism with a sprinkling of primitive and brutal Third World tribal culture. That's as close as I can get to exposing the threat which is Islam. And how would I know? I was a Muslim convert who spent much time getting to know Muslims from many countries. I read the Quran, Hadith, and biographies of Muhammed. Muslim terrorists are good Muslims who emulate Muhammed. Muslims announce their intention to dominate the world and you want to fuss over local political parties! Islam is the enemy of democracy, freedom, individuality, choice and every liberal cause. Gays, women (especially feminists), pacifists, multiculturalists, Pagans, Jews, Buddhists, even anyone who enjoys a beer, likes the nightlife, loves their pet dog (Muhammed hated dogs, so Muslims inherited his revulsion for man's best friend): Muslims are not your friends and they don't like your freedom. Sure, they'll use you and may pretend to tolerate differences, but in the end they will side with Islam. Check out Muslim countries and see what kind of human rights records they have. Do you think you'll be building a New Age meditation center, holding a gay pride parade, or wearing a bikini at your favorite pool or beach if the Muslim community has its way? The need to wake up and push back is urgent.

It is a fool who ignores the obvious. We Americans ARE naive. We pride ourselves on looking for the best in people and assume that the rest of the world shares OUR beliefs of goodness and fairness. Oh that I wish it were so. However, for those of you who have never ventured beyond these borders to the East then yours is not stupidity it is only ignorance. You have seen our own Americans (citizens and military alike) tortured and beheaded to advance their cause and yet you still chose to believe that there is no REAL threat. My only hope is that your awaking does not come too late. That you and your famillies never have to suffer from your persistance at "hoping" others share your beliefs in common decency. We use to STAND for something in this country, now we FALL for anything. Life is very cheap in some foreign countries and when small children are used as human bombs to advance a cause it seems obvious to me that we are naive to the ways of those who would do us and our country harm. I do not believe EVERY Muslim is a radical, I do believe that there is a radical group and they are not be held in check by those that are not. As we should know, the silence of mankind against that which is evil will soon come to haunt us all. Not that I am in any way equating this movement to that of 1930's Germany, but the Germans remained silient to their situation and were later incredulous to discover the death camps. In speaking with Americans who lived through WWII who were reading accounts of the atrocities found themselves in disbelief. They just could not believe that people could be that cruel and yet they were and by the grace of God, and the actions of those with the courage to face what was really going on, we were able to stop it from spreading further. Do not assume that everyone is evil and do not assume everyone is good. Open your eyes and your mind. You know there are people in America that would steal things out of your home and so you lock your doors as a measure to prevent it from happening. Don't believe me or anyone without first objectively studing and then determine for yourself. This is a great country and others before us fought battles to preserve it. We must also fight if we wish to continue its existance.

Have you ever noticed how the republicans constantly scream that the constitution is being trampled on by whomever opposes them at the moment. But, if it gets inthe way of their agenda the constitution be damned. What is amusing is , like so many of their contradictory staements and actions, they are completey oblivious. The republicans have become a cult of stupidity.

hey, there are a lot of religions that i think suck. Lets change the 14th amendment so we can have some control over these wacko cults and so we can keep them out of our neighborhoods...there are some here in the US that are just as loony as the muslim religion...In fact there are a lot. I hate to mention names, but you know , the southern fried fringe, and the ones that abuse children and such....lets do it in one fell swoop.

you really are a very confused man

you are defending the rights of people who give no rights to anyone unfortunate enough to be under there oppressive rule.

freedom to believe what you want is denied and forbidden in muslim countries, women have no rights but are treated like cattle

Children are given into the hands of influential old men at ages that are discusting.

Gay people are put to death, but thats all right with you isnt it

if you call yourself an American, stop defending those who hate everthing America stands for.

you are sad...and the reason America is weak today

Since the 9/11 terrostist were Islam then all Islam is bad

Use the same logic:

Since the Nazis were christians then......

Cristian churches near the holocost mememorial would be an insult.

Obama just stated what is in the constitution of the United States of America, a document that he has taken an oath to defend.

It says that everyone has the right to believe in and worship any form of Santa Clause they want to, without government interference.

Its right there with the right to bear arms when forming an organized militia.

Opening a mosque at or near Ground Zero would be no differant than if Nazis opened a gift shop next to Auschwitz as both idealogies deal with hate, intolerance, and death. What the PC culture will not report is this is really a war against an idealogy. Face some facts..the word Islam itself means “peace” IF (and this is a huge IF) when one “submits and surrenders” to their faith and (sharia) way of life. Otherwise, there is NO peace.

There are over a 100 passges in the koran, hadiths, and their suras calling for fighting and killing infidels. This is EXACTLY like their terrorist/pedophile founding prophet, their 1,400 years of history and yes, their ACTIONS!!

The evidence – the only evidence – proves beyond any doubt that “good” Muslims are in fact enemies of the free world is because Muhammad, Islam’s lone prophet and Allah’s singular voice, was a ruthless and dedicated terrorist/pedophile himself! Islamic militants, which are called ‘insurgents’ today by appeasers/apologists of Islam are actually ‘good” Muslims, not bad ones. The jihadists haven’t corrupted Islam, hijacked their religion, nor interpreted it incorrectly, and therefore they aren’t radicals.

Islam isn’t a peaceful religion; it is a declaration of war against all mankind. While bad Muslims can be moderate and peaceful, they have no influence because the koran tells good Muslims to kill them.

How is it that you muslim apologists and appeasers are so ill-informed about the ROOT cause of this terrorism that political, religious, academic, financial, and media leaders get away with such errant proclamations that islam is “peaceful”??

Wake up people…it is NOT a country we are fighting against, it is a idealogy that we have to fight because their teachings and history are VERY CLEAR on the subject!!

I for one believe; We should demolish all protestant Houses of Worship in New York, Boston, and D.C.!

After all, were not the British Soldiers that invaded in1812 Protestant?

Also: there should not be any catholic Churches in Fredricksburg, VA!

Because those soldiers that charged Mary's Heights were Catholic, and not even "REAL" Americans! They were Illegal Wet Backs that came here, claiming religious persecution... and just spit out "Anchor Babies", or joined the Military to gain Citizenship!

One last thing.... The next time you visit Pearl Harbor, be sure to visit one of the more than 2 dozen Japanese Buddhist Temples in Pearl City, and the real nice one they have there on the Base at Pearl Harbor... OH! Don't forget to visit the Pacific Air Museum on Battleship Row, as it has a real nice Japanese Zero on display!

Anyone who dares to defend any of our Bill of Rights is now called a Nazi by the historically-challenged bigots in charge of the Republican Party.

Some call their sloganeering "opportunism" or "pandering"; but, the sum of the agitprop is that we as a nation should now reject the Bill of Rights and the Constitution for which they stand.

Why? Because Republicans and their camp followers hate everyone who disagrees with them. It isn't just a matter of differing philosophy or political solutions. Republicans now would prefer to remove universal suffrage, any vestige of historic jurisprudence - and seize power. The only quantum that matters to their poor, incapacitated egos.
