Democrats Maintain 2010 Polling Edge Over GOP ... Sort Of
Tweet Share on Facebook July 27, 2010 Comment (11)Last week I noted that Gallup's latest generic congressional survey had shown Democrats with their strongest performance since the polling firm started in March asking about the 2010 elections. They scored some more good news this week, still leading the GOP. But there's an unhealthy measure of bad news for the Democrats as well.

GOP Rep. Zach Wamp Talks Secession
Tweet Share on Facebook July 23, 2010 Comment (17)Rep. Zach Wamp, a Republican House member running for governor of Tennessee, is making a strong play for the crazy portion of the Volunteer State GOP primary electorate. Sharron Angle Dodges the Media Again
Tweet Share on Facebook July 23, 2010 CommentThere's fairly amusing video making the rounds of Nevada GOP Senate candidate Sharron Angle being chased--literally chased--through a parking lot by the inquisitive media. George W. Bush's Post-Presidential Approval Rating Ticks Up
Tweet Share on Facebook July 22, 2010 Comment (28)I wrote yesterday about a new Gallup poll showing that Bill Clinton is now more popular than Barack Obama. Bill Clinton More Popular Than Barack Obama
Tweet Share on Facebook July 21, 2010 Comment (16)Gallup reports that for the first time in the Obama years Bill Clinton has surpassed the sitting president in terms of public popularity. According to the polling organization, 61 percent of Americans view Clinton favorably, as opposed to 52 percent for Obama. George W. Bush registers a surprisingly strong 45 percent approval.
The Clinton number is good news for Democrats looking ahead to the 2010 midterm elections and the battle for Congress.

Remembering George Steinbrenner With Mixed Feelings
Tweet Share on Facebook July 13, 2010 Comment (2)Leave it to The Boss to dominate sports news on the day of baseball's All Star Game. It is, as the Daily News's Mike Lupica writes, "classic Steinbrenner." The New York Yankees and Major League Baseball are diminished today as a result of King George's passing, and that's not a sentiment that this or many Yankees fans would always have expressed over the course of his ownership.
