Pat Robertson Blames Haiti Earthquake on Pact with the Devil

Robertson told the truth and truth will make someone angry, for instance, the Devil. Bible is a book of Truth, the Devil hates it most. I guess, Mr.Schelsinger is perhaps an atheist in essence, plus a Religious ritual believer in appearance. unfortunately, he tried hard to be politically correct, but his expression was affected. Affection is not true stuff. If Mr. Schelsinger had a true faith like Robertson, he may follow the acts of Robertson,to do something real for the Haiti, instead of attacking others and pretending self righteousness with lip service.

Mr.Schlesinger, what is with the "Paper Chase"/Young Fogey attire ? Looks comical really -lose that foppish bow tie & grow a pair.P.S Thanks to a reader posting here -I now understand what Robertson really said... and it IS true.

I cannot believe Pat Robertson would really stand on his "argument" of deductive logic that because "the Haitians revolted and got themselves free" as Robertson said, they are being punished. If that premise and conclusion were, true then many PEOPLE including those who kidnapped, killed, beat and enslaved Africans should too be PUNISHED! Those Nazis who killed and tortured Jews should too be PUNISHED. Were those two groups of people supposed to remain in servitude and incomprehensible conditions in order to not meet destruction like this. Now, maybe the nation of Haiti was guilty of something else, but it was not of demanding their freedom as a nation and people. My pastor's sermon was about Robertson's comments. He gave this scripture in support of his argument against Robertson's asinine comments. He who is without sin, cast the first stone. I don't Robertson can throw a stone!

Luke 13 (The Message)

Unless You Turn to God

1-5About that time some people came up and told him about the Galileans Pilate had killed while they were at worship, mixing their blood with the blood of the sacrifices on the altar. Jesus responded, "Do you think those murdered Galileans were worse sinners than all other Galileans? Not at all. Unless you turn to God, you, too, will die. And those eighteen in Jerusalem the other day, the ones crushed and killed when the Tower of Siloam collapsed and fell on them, do you think they were worse citizens than all other Jerusalemites? Not at all. Unless you turn to God, you, too, will die."

Your ignorance is showing. Sure cut off Pat Robertson who has given more to help in tragedies such as Haiti is experiencing right now than most people. He stayed in Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina and continued to help long after most good samaritans had left. He and his Operation Blessing will be in Haiti long after people such as these two doofusses have forgotten and gone on to other things. It is easy to cast stones. It is alot harder to put your money and actions where your big mouths are and help instead of hinder. Those who have never spoken something that others find offensive, raise their hand. I don't see any.

God does nothing to harm his creation. We live in a fallen world where the devil and his demons roam the world seeking whom they might devour. If a person or a population is not attuned to their creator, the devil has much easier access to them. I don't know how many Christians there are in Haiti, nor do I know the heart of anyone. I just know that bad things happen to everyone. It is how we cope with these bad things that proves our faith in God. Can Haiti be saved? Most assuredly, but the people have to change before their island can be changed. If this doesn't happen it will be just like putting a bandaid on a cancerous growth and hoping it will help. As for Pat Robertson's comment, it was just a comment. Meanwhile his Operation Blessing was already in gear to go aide the Haitians. One wonders just what Mr. Schlesinger is doing to help these poor people? A man is judged not by his words, but by his actions. Except in the secular media.

I know that I'll catch 'flack' too, but I wholeheartedly agree with Pat Robertson.

And, to Emily of Florida... GOD does NOT do these things to people. Perhaps, rather than listening to what your priest says, you should read the Bible for yourself. Acts 17:11 tells us that the Bereans received the WORD with all 'readiness of mind, and [then] searched the scriptures daily, to see if what they'd been taught was true. They didn't just take the 'teacher's word for it, they went to the scriptures themselves to see the truth [or] inaccuracy of what they'd heard.

In John 10:10, Jesus said, "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

It's not GOD doing these things; it's the enemy; ergo, the (Devil!)

'nuff said!

I listened to our Priest last night saying, "everyone wants to know why God does bad things to good people. I don't have the answer." We in the clergy can't answer that question."

I believe that he could have said, "this is not the workings of God, because he is not that cruel. However the Devil is out there working overtime because less of us are praying. Just look around and see how many churches are closing because of poor attendance."

I don't believe that any curse could have destroyed these people. I just believe that we who do believe, should start believing and praying more, and bring people back to church. Also bring prayer back to the schools.

I for one believe that deep down inside if you believe and pray, good things will happen for you. I do not know the Religion of the people from Haiti, but I do see them praying and I think that God will also hear their prayers. We all must start praying more and take the power away from the Devil, who is slowly being allowed to take control.

Pat, I think your right! And f -you to all you liberal shits. If it hurts it must be right.

Folks, I'm not a huge Pat Robertson fan. That said, I do know something about Christian theology having advanced degress in the subject and in that light, I don't find Robertson's comments out of line. Let me explain

Robertson isn't saying anything here other than that the Devil has the power to inflict suffering on people. How do I get this? It is from an understanding of Christian theology as it relates to curses and blessings. Essentially a curse opens the door to the Devil so he can inflict suffering and heartache. Blessing opens the door to God bringing his love and grace to people.

So...all Robertson is saying is that at one time there was a door opened that allowed Satan to come in...and that doorway has practical implications such as poverty, devastation and even natural catastrophes. That isn't a slam on anyone living today. It is a statement of his belief, and the belief of most Christians, that the Devil doesn't have our best at heart.

In fact, both his words and his actions demonstrate that, in fact, Robertson is actually concerned deeply for these people. He does not want them to suffer. He is sending huge amounts of aid to Haiti to alleviate their suffering precisely BECAUSE he believes he doesn't want the Devil to inflict that suffering on them anymore.

I for one, don't see anything wrong with that.

Does anyone know about a group or organization by that title?
