China's earthquake and the fast development's economy were the two matters of primary importance of the word in the past ten years.

(drum roll please), Barack Hussein Obama.

His motto . . . "Nothing Ventured truely is Nothing Gained"

His crowning achievement thus far is the "Nobel Peace Prize." The first person in history to achieve such dubious distinction based on words read from a teleprompter. Congratulations America! You picked a whinner!

Obama's dithering for 98 days over a cut-and-dried issue is, I suspect, a microcosm of his presidency. Now that he's completed a fourth of his term, we now know him and based on his track record I don't see that the remining 3/4th of his term will offer anything real or substantial. Sure, he'll work on legislation in an attempt to endear himself to his pathetic base of liberal patsies. Nothing.

I have to disagree that 2009 wasn't the last year of the decade. Unlike centuries and millennia, we don't number decades sequentially. We call our decades the 1980s, the 1990s, etc. While we call this century "the 21st Century," we know we won't call the past decade (even though its name is still up in the air) "the 201st Decade." Therefore, a strong case can be made that 2009 was the last year of the decade, since it was the last "200X" year. Granted, this causes some problems with the first decade AD, but nobody ever bothers with that period enough to want to give it a name.

There are so many, but the failure of our political "leaders", on so many levels, is truly staggering. The bailouts, the wars, the scandals, the transparent bribery and blackmail to pass legislation, the total disregard for balancing the budget, the continued idiocy of the "war on drugs", our deteriorating infrastructure, our pathetic schools, that evolution vs. creation is actually an issue, the lack of seperation between church and state, cheapening U.S. citizenship by giving illegals our hard-won treasure and benefits, our loss of jobs, the userous tax structure... etc., etc., etc. Is this a great country, or what?

another trend...the obvious cronyism and nepotism used to elect the most notoriously and proudly ignorant "leader" in US history

the rise of the scared right posturiong under any guise possible to maintain power and elitism that is the cause of America's demise

Well said. I agree completely!!!

1. The Global Warming Hoax. And, its costs in freedom and financial resources,

2. The media becoming openly biased - The death of objective reportage and journalism.

3. Hard Green "Environmentalism" becoming the official "State Religion", and exerting its dogmatic influence and control over the courts, media, schools, bureaucracy and politicians. While disenfranchising the public from outdoor venues and closing millions of acres of land and sea to use or access. As well as costing millions of jobs and raising costs for everything; housing, food, energy and recreation.

4. Obvious corruption on both sides of the aisle, and everyone shrugging it off as "business as usual".

5. The election of an inexperienced egoist as president - based solely on his skin color and meaningless slogans.

6. The "unintended consequences" (perhaps not so "unintended") of pork barrel stimulus, massive deficits, and promised "transparent" health care reform - that is anything but "transparent".

7. The ACORN scandal, and the subsequent scandal of the left media sweeping it under the rug.
