Obama's Nobel Peace Prize Speech Echoes FDR, JFK

Obama will try to grant time spent in the US to the illegals when he gives them amnesty; the purpose is to reduce the five-year requirement for an immigrant to live in the US before he/she can vote. Once they can vote, it becomes a certainty that the votes will be for Obama. I find it hard to believe that Americans are dumb enough to let this happen, but what do I know, I am only a 250 pound human.

It is bad enough that the corporations give away jobs to other countries but wait till Obama grants amnesty to the 13 million illegals who are already sucking up the benefits in the USA without earning them; when amnesty is given, there will be a flood of people going for your jobs if you still have one.

I feel sorry for those illegals but I'm not sorry enough to give away what little I have earned in this country so I can join a soup line because of massive unemployment that will ensue. Our government has allowed these non-citizens to enter the USA without going through proper channels that the Constitution has mandated and it is too bad that the people cannot dissolve our government and install a new gov't that is more responsive to the needs of the people. Come to think of it, I recall a document stating that if the gov't becomes unresponsive to the needs of the people(Americans), it is the right of the people to alter it or abolish it.....

I'm sure that those of you that can read English recall this!

What are the Democrats and their great leader going to do about the millions of Illegals in our country. These illegals are still here and our government is doing nothing about getting rid of them.

Change the law so that if a child is born in the United States, to an illegal who is allowed to be here, then citizenship can be conferred; But if both parents are here unoffically, then the child cannot have US Citizenship. These politicians have sworn to uphold the Constitution and are not doing so. Come voting day, let's get them voted out of office.

The Democrats are great at changing the subject to misguide the American Public. Why did I have to work for the benefits that the illegals get for free. Another thing, I am getting tired of hearing Spanish and seeing Spanish on government buildings, I thought English was the language of the USA.

Hate the Haters ? What is next -love the lover's ,trust the truster's? It is plain talk most people understand Mike, abstract concepts can be expressed in just simple language. What ,upon first hearing seemed soaring eloquence from Roosevelt & Kennedy -was universally understood ,and served to calm the fears of our Nation in the throes of the Depression -then reach out to inspire a new generation of Americans in facing the challenges that the Atomic Age would present.Obama is a poseur'.The cultivation of his image is what motivates him ,with every move calculated for posterity.

"...No holy war can ever be a just war, for if you truly believe that you are carrying out divine will, then there is no need for restraint; no need to spare the pregnant mother, or the medic, or the red cross worker, or even a person of one's own faith. Such a warped view of religion is not just incompatible with the concept of peace, but I believe it is incompatible with the very purpose of faith."

That, along with his reiteration that the centerpiece of every religion is "do unto others as you would have done unto you", was the defining moment in the speech for me. I've long since lamented the fact that there are sects of people out there who fight for a "divine purpose" and kill others in the process of it. These people can be trapped by their own ideology, and in doing so they can forget the very tenets of their own beliefs. I was extremely glad that Obama addressed this, and I'm very happy that our President acknowledges these things.

When people say "what did this man do to deserve this prize?", I point to this speech. He has not accomplished much on the grand scale of this yet, I will admit. But he has recognized the challenges for what they are, and knows that the journey for peace will be difficult.

I guess I can't be surprised that on an internet news site you would get mostly ignorant morons with more opinions than intelligence. This man is a great president precisely because he can inspire and give hope to people. I myself have great hope and faith in President Obama to help us as a country find our way, and respect the real American traditions of moral and just governance.

Don't judge a man by his word but by his actions. Obama is a puppet, the government is hijacked by ruthless murderers with only corporate interests in mind, and he is the frontman for their agenda. One of the reason Obama is pres is because of his ability to influence people by his words, like mindless sheep. Open your eyes and your mind and this SCAM will reveal itself. And Schlesinger, your are a traitor to the US and the world, either wake up or burn in hell.

Can someone please tell me EXACTLY why he deserves it? What ACCOMPLISHMENTS has he been responsible for? The last time I checked Everything has either stayed the same or has gotten worse and if it has not gotten worse it will with his decision to add more troops but giving a timeline! What is with that?? He is the worst thing to happen to America in a very long time and hopefully will only last a few years more!

Dennis W. of WI 6:34PM December 11, 2009

...that Obama (I'm a big fan) has refused to sign on to the Ottawa anti-mine treaty. For that, I believe that he does not deserve the Nobel Prize.
