Will CNN go the Fox Route Like MSNBC?

I did not address Bill's first point on this is all about money. Other than PBS and NPR which are non-profit organizations, all the News organizations are for profit. It just happens that Fox News has come up with a better formula than CNN and MSNBC recognizing that their Opinion shows (Beck, O'reilly, Hannity) are mostly for entertainment rather than serious news reporting. When I referred you to the website on Fox News distortions, it focused only on the non-opinion parts of Fox News. I think the list of spins and inaccuracies from Beck/O'reilly/Hannity would be endless....

In terms of manipulting the news, the following web site provides a number of clips of obvious misstatements by Fox News to spin their agenda http://mediamatters.org/research/200910130047

Moreover, when Fox News defended their objectivity, they quoted statistics from the Pew Foundation trying to argue their objectivity. If you actuall read the research http://www.journalism.org/node/13436, the conclusion is that Fox News has a strong right wing bias just as MSNBC leans to the left. CNN is viewed as most objective.

Lastly, per a recent Gallup poll. Conservative account for only 40% of voters with Moderate and Liberals accounting for 60%. Further approval rating for the GOP is at an all time low at 36%.

Lastly, I never made any personal attacks in my poll. I don't see how a comment "of dividing America" is a put-down. Actually, you just proved my point. So if you want to have a fact based debate, bring it on. If that was the best you could do, go back to listening to the radio or watching Fox News.

who is on CNN?

wolf blitzer, servant of the party.

candy crowley, dana bash (RUTH SHWARTZ), larry King, Joy Behar.

and don't forget their hysterical daytime newscasters who create a crisis every hour.

perhaps someone was seen smoking or driving an SUV?

“What people fail to understand is that Fox News is not about news but about making money.”

And what examples do you have that this is true ??? If true, Is Fox only one ???

Or is it Fox questions President as has been practice for how long in our history ???

…..

“Their target segment is right wing christian conservatives.”

More accurately it attracts Conservative from Republican, Independent, and Democrats. Largest segment of voters are Conservative, Independent, and bottom are liberals.

…..

“Fox News is not above manipulating the facts to serve their purpose and that is unfortunate.”

Sadly not even an example. Just a blank statement..

Evidently their ratings show observers like Fox. In fact, generally speaking, Conservative tv and radio do better.

…..

“The real sad part of this is that is had made our country that much more divided and nobody wins in that game.”

Attempt to put down. No example or evidence. Nothing. Which is what it is worth.

What people fail to understand is that Fox News is not about news but about making money. Their target segment is right wing christian conservatives. Human nature is such that people want to hear news that supports their personal belief system and Fox News does that exceedingly well. Unfortunately, Fox News is not above manipulating the facts to serve their purpose and that is unfortunate. The real sad part of this is that is had made our country that much more divided and nobody wins in that game.

I find your premise of article wrong. That said, it is ‘your point of view’.

A old adage is take 20 people watching an event, and you have 20 different views on what happened. Skewed sound menacing but really is just natural. Honest people can be Democrat, Independent, as well as Republican. We can throw in honest liberals, conservatives, and all the other mixtures.

The key word is honest. Those 20 people, all things being equal, will give relatively same account of event. partisanism involved or not. Solutions on the other hand will be different. Example is a baseball game. All should say team ‘A’ won. Why team ‘A’ won will give differing views. How to have a different outcome next game may result in all new differing views.

In honesty, partisans view has no bad connotations. Is a personal preference.

Another old adage. If we all liked the same woman, we would all be unhappy.

VIVA La Difference!

As a Conservative, I believe America is better off with open competition and differing political views.

A little levity… I may not be right all the time but I know your aren’t.

I think we all know the answer.

I do think CNN is heading right. They constantly feature all the Republican points of view, goals and opinions party leaders, far right talk-show hosts and candidates. They always doubt Obama now. They never have any positive things to say about him and I know some positivity must be out there because he won by a huge majority 10 months ago! I see the wisdom of his decisions pretty easily!

Nothing matters to 24-7 "News" stations anymore but ratings. Start watching PBS to see regular news delivered without an agenda. It's plain, without neon backrounds or hollagrams, but it's easier to watch because it doesn't stir my fear anger or dread because the news is not being distorted to get me to watch....

I truly believe corporations are getting more and more afraid of Obama and the regulations that are coming their way (if they ever do...). The control they wield is reflected in the media more and more.

If the Chamber of Commerce can wage a campaign because they don't want to provide health care or stop spewing CO2, then the really big guys must be taking measures too! They can't rule Obama completely because he raises money one donation at a time from Americans who need help, or want to help, not Walll Street and corporations who want to keep stealing.. Notice how their donations to him and his are way down?

Look It Up (which should be the new slogan for News stations). It's the only way to be sure the news is true or not these days!!

I have no problem admitting I was watch Fox news and I that I lean libertarian right...

But can anyone on the left agree with me when I say the freedom of the press and free speech should not be impeded on by the current administation? Example... White House war on Fox... and google the name Mark Lloyd "Diversity Czar"
