Wow, I never knew about the correct definition of Begs the Question before. Thanks for the tip! Also, Mike from MA must be pretty slow if he does not get the usage issue here, but that's what I've come to expect from liberals in Taxachusetts =).

It's amazing how many people misue begs the question. About as many as misue 'fortuitous.' Look it up!

James of NV 4:49PM October 29, 2009

I don't see anything wrong with the way he used 'begs the question' based on your link.

But honestly, how bad could your arguement be to have to completely ignore the presented arguement, and resort to posting a wikipedia article about an unimportant part of his comment? That's quite the cop-out.

Jeff you are starting to sound stupid for not knowing how to appropriately use 'begs the question.'

The thing is, there are people who agree with him. They are not all Racist! there are African Americans who love what he does, are they racist for listening to him? and if African Americans can be racist, does that mean that every rapper who uses the N word is now categorized as racist? this opens pandoras box.

This county has capitalist roots, and if you dont want to support something Limbaugh is involved in, boycott the team and you will attack his checkbook. You cannot ban someone from owning a team because you dont support there principles.

Bob you are starting to sound stupid stating the obvious. Most people who tend to own things are conservative while unions tend to be socialistic. Lets see how this works. The NFL which I assume represents the players union in this chart of yours gives to the more socialistic of the parties while the owners give to the other guys.

This begs the obvious question, your point (besides your head) is?

I appreciate you pointing this out, because this is what Rush is pointing to as "his excuse."

The skit BARACK THE MAGIC NEGRO was in response to a column written by a black columnist. It says so in the first verse of the song.

The original article was RACIST - however, trying to use a voice that impersonates a "black man from the hood" is equivalent to wearing black face and doing AMOS AND ANDY, which is clearly racist - and inappropriate for the 21st century.

The original article was racist. The skit "Barack, the Magic Negro" was also racist.

It is my belief that Rush has TOO MANY racist controversies to be allowed membership in the ownership of an NFL team.

I appreciate you pointing this out from my comment.

Doesn't the above chart say the folks at the St. Louis Rams have in the past given 98% of their support to Democrats? Rushie wants to reverse that, eh? Think he'll lean on the players and staff?

As I said in another thread here, the players are going to hate playing for him unless he simply pays more than anyone else.

As for football fansmanship being a conservative's toy in general, though---- yeah, it is. The corporate crowd are the only ones who can pay the gravy for the boxes.

The skit in reference by the poster above, was in reference to a black columnist in the Los Angeles Times in 2007 ( http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/commentary/la-oe-ehrenstein19mar19,0,3391015.story )

Rush would completely NOT fit in the NFL, which has tried to be forward thinking in its fight to break down racial barriers. Sports has always been one of the main foci where racial barriers have been broken, and the NFL has been a leader in that realm. Whereas JACKIE ROBINSON was the first black baseball player in 1947, professional football had its first black football players in 1920 (Fritz Pollard and Bobby Marshall), and it had its first black football coach in 1921 (technically, these were in the American Professional Football League, which later became the AFL, and then part of the NFL when the two leagues combined).

Rush Limbaugh makes a living by canting jingoist ideals that appeal to conservative subsections in our nation - and unfortunately, just like the Republican party, he has made a deal with the devil by appealing to the white racists of our nation.

His skit "Barack, the Magic Negro," along with this statement, demonstrate that he isn't just ignorant or "entertaining," but that he is truly RACIST:

"I mean, let’s face it, we didn’t have slavery in this country for over 100 years because it was a bad thing. Quite the opposite: slavery built the South. I’m not saying we should bring it back; I’m just saying it had its merits. For one thing, the streets were safer after dark."

If you remember, Jimmy "the Greek" lost his job as an NFL comentator when he insinuated that black athletes were better (than white athletes) because of their "breeding" during slavery.

There was no place for Jimmy "the Greek" in the NFL in 1988 - and there is no place for Rush Limbaugh in the NFL in the 21st century.

I am not so naive as to think there are no racists in the NFL - but Limbaugh is so vocal that there is no hiding his true nature. I am confident he will not be allowed in.
