As a former CG member stationed in DC responsible for the security of the capitol region on the Potomac, these exercises are executed on a regular basis. We need to train in our working enviorment but the media showed it's lack of paying attention to normal day to day activities in DC. Thanks for noticing us today but we have been doing this since 2001!

you'd think it was a slow news day. However, a pro-life activist (maybe two) were just murdered in Michigan... Not worth comment, uh? Kinda like the unborn...

Watching the press conference. The media attacking/spinning the USCG for CNN scooping the story prematurely, without the facts. Walter Cronkite would be disappointed. Scheduling a training exercise in DC today is dumb. Reporting crap unnecessarily today is even more irresponsible. CNN just admitted that they called the Coast Guard before airing the story....they couldn't tell us, they did not know what was happening....soooooo then CNN just brought it to air, though the CG couldn't provide any facts? lol.

Right on. Rampant speculative journalism at its worst. I like CNN, but they are really making fools of themselves this morning. "Fellonious stupidity?" Right back at you, CNN.
