Does right and wrong exist?

If it does, what is the basis for it?

Why is it "bigotry" to disagree with a viewpoint?

Is it okay to marry my sister, or my neighbor, for legal purposes? Can I marry my mother?

has now reinforced the way I feel about the state. I have traveled through most states and have always felt that Iowans are the most kind, loving, and accepting people in the world. I know that there will be many who are not happy with this ruling but I think that for the most part the people will have the live and let live attitude and will accept it. Those that don't will be seen as the bigots that they really are. I honestly wish that I lived in Iowa as Nevada, a state you would think would be more open minded, does not recognize same sex marriage and doesn't even have civil unions for gays. I am proud that a mid-western state would see that discrimination is not what America is about. To see that same sex marriage will not destroy the family but only make it stronger. That people have rights even though some may disagree with what they do, that the majority cannot trample on the minority, and that religion should not influence the government. I say bravo to the Iowa Supreme Court and to all the Iowans who support the decision. I also say to those Iowans who cannot accept it that they need to look deep within their hearts and figure out just why they are so prejudiced and bigoted and if it is religion maybe they should be more Christlike and love one another.
