drinking is good

Lowering the drinking age would make alcohol hold less allure and excitement for those who think their "cool" beacuse they are breaking the law. Does anyone else think it is obnoxious to be considered mature enought make the decision to sign your entire life over to the military and knowingly risk your life for millions of people you don't know but not mature enough to drink a beverage that may slightly change your mindset. The raised drinking age makes adults under 21 feel they cannot use public transports such as bus and taxi if they are under the influence of alcohol for fear of getting an MIC which by deffinition is MINOR in consumption. At 18 these people are no longer minors. They can vote, by guns, smoke cigarettes and do many other things much more signifigant than drinking a beer.

If the drinking age stays at 21 then it will make people who are under 21 more interested in it. Most people want what they can't have. But if the drinkign age is lowered to 18, then they should have it to where you have to be 18 to buy beer and wine. and 21 to get hard alcohol. There fore the people who join the military right after high school and take on the responsibilities of life and death for the country should be able to enjoy a cold one with their families when they get back to saftey

i believe that drinking should be at the age of 21 because now a days people take it too far. now you will see children at the age of 12 drinking and thats not right. they need their parents in their lives so they will not mess theres up. when you drink it can lead to many diferent thing and it messes up your body. every 22 minutes someone dies in an alcohol-related motor vechicle accident.

i believe that it should be turned to 19 as the legal drinknig age in the U.S. If you can go to war and kill someone why not have the right to drink? All over the world the U.S. is polled as having the highest drinking age. Most all of the other surronding countries have a drinking age of 18, ans some even less. In other countries who have a legal drinking age if 18 rated to have higher SAT scores than that of the U.S. who currently have the 21 age instated. I do not believe that it should be lowered to 18 because in this respect most teenagers are still in high school. This would not be a wise descision because then the high schoolers who are 18 would probably be the major suppliers to the younger kids throughout the school who are not yet 18. I do believe though that 19 would be a resonable age, 1 because most teenagers by this time are out of high school and are considered adults. They can vote at 18, have all legal privialeges of being an adult and one of the biggest ones they fight for our country. If we are having adults who are 18 fighting and voting for our country i believe that these same people should have their say as to whether or not they will drink. Let congress decide, but i have taken various surveys from high schools around my area, and also local citizens and over 80% said that they think it should be lowered to 18.

Nothing against the military but, these guys and girls are coming back from a tramatic experience at such a young age and they tend to have a lot more pent up fustration than the person that has not been through war. I commend the military personnel for fighting for our country. I am a bar owner and have seen a lot of different people drinking over the years. I feel that the 21 year olds are hard to handle. I can't emagine having 18 year olds in my place of business drinking after going through the stress of being in Iraq. What I see happening is a lot of fights, crazyness and young people not knowing their limits and having to be cut off because of it. I have had my share of military personnel over the years that were over 21 and they tend to get upset a lot eaiser than someone who has not been in the military when they are drinking. Alcohol is a release for a lot of people. What is released from someone who has had the experience that these young people have had? I know that it is only a couple of years difference but it does make a difference.(in the maturity level) Please keep the drinking age at 21.

It should stay at 21. more and more people are substantually dying due to drinking each year. Why would we want to increase this?
