There are so many women who are REALLY suffering from Domestic Violence. They have been Oppressed and Abused by their husbands in the worse way for many, many years.

I think the Rihanna-Chris Brown story was just a SPAT between a Boyfriend and Girlfriend.

Rihanna went back to him so she did NOT take that much offense to what Chris did to her.

We should STOP focusing on this case. And focus on the True victims of Domestic Violence who are usually women who are really Poor and Helpless and not 2 powerful celebrities who believe they are Invincible.

to be entirely honest. there is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON OR JUSTIFICATION for someone to hit someone, especially to the degree he did.

You've "pretty assiduously avoided learning any of the details of the Rihanna-Brown dust-up", but you're sure it was all his fault? First, why should anyone entertain or respect to your opinion if you haven't even bothered to inform yourself of the pertinent facts?

And second, you're not doing the Women's Movement any favors. I've read that she started the dust up by hitting him with a cell phone while he was driving because he got a text from another woman. Why are so many people overlooking this fact? Yes, he overreacted, but she certainly isn't an innocent victim. She decided to express her feelings in a violent manner and that issue needs to be addressed as well. If women want to be treated equally, as strong beings that do not need protecting, rather than as chattel, then we can't overlook violent behavior when they are the aggressors and only point fingers at the man who retaliates. We take credibility from the Women's Movement when we have different rules for different genders. Equal is equal. Problem-solving via violence is wrong no matter who does it.
