Jeez, I'm just shocked that this opinion would come from such a valued member of academia. Chances are pretty good he's a liberal loon. 95% of em are. As already has been stated in the comment section, where were these suggestions....oh about 5 or 6 years ago. This kind of reminds me how there was so little mention (as wellas NO documentaries that I can find!!!) on voter fraud this past election. I guess all the kinks must have been worked out, huh? The amazing hypocrasy of the Lunatic Left!!

I agree. For the Dems to truly prove that this filibuster nonsense is an empty threat is put it to the test. Let them filibuster so that the people will know what kind of nonsense their supposed Republican (Lincoln must be turning in his grave right now) principles are.

Since when did a filibuster stop a majority party from moving forward its agenda ? Specially now, that the President received an overwhelming majority from the American people anyone who dares to filibuster will just appear silly and obstructionist. He/she cannot sustain it and my guess is majority of Reps will stay away from that kind of project.

All along, I have been saying in my blog, let them filibuster. Filibusters against a popular government will just make fools of themselves. That is the reality and the Dems will benefit from any filibuster. As for the filibusterer/s they ought to take a hard look at their Senate seat because they're bound to lose it.

Hmmmm.... why didn't they suggest this during the filibuster of judicial appointments? Oh, yeah, that was because it was the democrats blocking the vote... We not have the most extreme leftist government in the history of the country, and they want to make it a dictatorship... Pardon me if I'm not surprised.

Just one more power grab by the Democrats. First no debate, now no filibusters.

2010 can't come soon enough.
