Sarah Palin Smart to Bow Out of CPAC Appearance

She definitely will be missed, but it was a smart move to not attend this year. Interestingly, Obamabots griped when they heard she was coming to CPAC, and now they are griping and speculating incorrectly as to why she is not attending this year. She was invited last year as well and did not attend. She is attending to state business, her priority. No matter what Sarah does, the Obots will find some fault.

Martha, I'll bet a thousand bucks you don't live on Unalaska. You write like a typical tax-eating government slug from Juneau. We should cut you all loose and hand the Panhandle over to Canada, where your type would be much happier.

I've got people on Unalaska and they all love Gov. Palin.

Let us not forget the nastiness of Hollywood toward Sarah, in particular MATT DAMON. I understand he has a new "Bourne" movie coming out soon. Please, skip it! If you still want to see it, then wait till it comes out on video and just rent it; much less money in their pockets could lead to less in Damon's pockets on the next movie contract.

(which would include Obots, "moderates" and "independents") would actually believe that she actually couldn't instead of it being her way of asking "What the hell kind of question is this?!".

The worst thing about it is that this came about a week or so after Katie Know-It-All didn't call Joe Biden on his Leslie Nielsen act. Wonder if the execs at CBS asked HER what kind of newspapers she read (My guess, no).

The people who reckon Sarah is an idiot should look at how they have been misled by the fashion for BO and being anti Christian values. Who could possibly not be able to name an American Paper? Many solicitors and public libraries get them all and I expect the governors office does too. She claims she reads all of them. Some people get a few newspapers or several different ones per week. I read all the front pages or at least look at the headlines. Online, I will browse for subjects using Google and read them from all over the place. To suggest and seriously think that SP does not know of one US paper, beggars belief and I have problems with being able to credit people with seriously thinking that. You must have the IQs of a slow three year old!

The well educated and journalists are extremely stupid adn deranged with self deceptiion. The world could not possibly have got here by chance. I could nick a car and put it outside my house and say it got made by itslef by chance and that would be less unlikely than creation by chance. The wonder of creation speaks to us of an author and creator. Another idiotic stance of the eduacted liberals is that they do not know that a human child in the womb is a human child and that abortions kill innocent children. Some do and still support abortions. The death penalty is against liberal ideals but at leat it targets the GYUILTY.

Would you be so kind as to take two years to learn the issues yourself? Granted about 95% of the media will have to do the same thing, and asking them to do so will be tiring work but it must be done.

Oh Serene, nobody thinks that SP should be Pres or VP based on being a "White Evangelical Christian Repubican Conservative", if anything having her out there is genius cause it highlights every negative about "The One" (regardless of how many elite Ivy League schools he went to) everytime you complain about her "ignorance" or "lack of knowledge" or whatever.

And am I supposed to be impressed with this "bi-partisan coalition" in AK that's trying to bring her down? I asked elsewhere, if Sarah decides against running next year for re-election, then why even have an election? Does Uncle Frank or Uncle Ted have any more heirs?

Mike of WA 6:30PM February 13, 2009

Sarah has an open legislative session in Alaska that is very important. Plus the AG resigned so she'll be looking to replace him.

She's the gov. of Alaska and will be focusing on that rather than national stuff for now.

Her state needs her and that is her job, duh.

She's doing fine. The Troopergate thing is only being drawn out for political reasons and most Alaskans know that. French and others are probably under pressure from Axelrod/Obama/Emmanuel/AlaskaDems to keep the pressure on. Sarah is the only threat to an Obama second term.

I'm sure that nationally we'll see more of Sarah in the years to come.

What the hell are you doing 800 miles away from civilization Martha? Are you a lifer on the rock? Are you a fish processor from Unisea or Westward? Id like to explain your comment line by line because i have the true answers on them but I am either to lazy to explain them or I just dont want to waste more time on your diputs comment. I hope I dont know YOU because I almost know half the population of the City of Unalaska. !noroM

I'm an appellate attorney in New York. I read the Branchwater report

line by line and it is a farce.

Alaskan statute (Article 3, Section 25 of the Alaska Constitution) empowers the Governor to hire all heads of Alaska's departments and unambiguously states that

such hirees serve at the Governor's pleasure. Palin was lawfully empowered to fire Monaghan if she didn't like the color of his ties.

As the hired gun of this star chamber, Branchwater was quick to cite Title 39, Chapter 52, Section 110, subsection A of the Ethics act which addresses violations of the public trust but not surprisingly failed to cite subsection B which exonerated Palin.

"(b) Unethical conduct is prohibited, but there is no substantial impropriety if, as to a specific matter, a public officer's

(1) personal or financial interest in the matter is insignificant,or of a type that is possessed generally by the public or a large class of persons to which the public officer belongs; or

(2) action or influence would have insignificant or conjectural effect on the matter.

Put simply, Palin accrued no personal or financial interest in releasing a staffer who

had admitted to lobbying in D.C. in such a manner that would compromise Palin's

forthcoming negotiations with the State Police.

Insofar as Wooten goes, once the State Personnel board was put in possession of

his medical files pending an investigation for Worker's Compensation Fraud and the

matter was discussed with Palin, she had a civic responsibility to intercede in the employment of a State Trooper who had demonstrated on numerous occasions that

he was a threat to public welfare. That she disliked the man is of no legal consequence. Had Palin swept the matter of the fraud under the carpet she would have been guilty of a far greater crime than a breach of ethics.

Doubtless, the constitutional realities of Troopergate will not change your opinion at all. The initial hearings motivated by political partisanship and executed in a prejudicial manner were, are today, and will remain a legal travesty.

I am a White Evangelical Conservative God Fearing Republican Women. I am disgusted in all the Palin negativity. Still, I do not think or ever think she will ever be qualify for Vice President or President. To be POTUS or VPOTUS, you need in the 21st century education and or years of expereience for the two positions. AS POTUS or VPOTUS, you have to work with people with different religious views, political views, cultural view, race and other differences.

With all the Palin negativity by Left, I find it equally disgusting from people from the Right. Both sides are so blinded in the view of Palin, they can't not read through the lines. Since Palin is a White Evangelical Christian Repubican Conservative, it does not make her instantly qualified or superiorly qualified to be POTUS or VPOTUS.

I do find her charming. I do not find her respectful and intelligent. You can only hide your lack of intelligence so far before other find out. Anyone can place fascade of intelligence but at the end, it will show. As for respectful, you have to be tolerant of others. I do not see her showing respect for others. I may not like Obama, he is our President. Palin show no respect during the campaign. Palin tried to instill the worst in people. This is something Jesus will disappoved off for a God fearing person.

I compare her to one of the TV Evanglical prechers who only preach the Word of God only but does not practice Word of God. She is just an opportunist who taking advantage of the situation and the time. I doubt she even a true Christian.

People keep saying, she down to earth good person. I do not see as part of her character. A down to earth person will have more respect and tolearance for others that different from her.

I do find it funny, many of the pro-Palin supporters cut and paste or paraphase the same comments seen in many other boards. It almost word for word verabatim. Some of the comments almost respeat some of the commentary from high profile Conservative professional political commentator.

To my fellow Right-Wingerers, please stop repeating the same or similar context from Fox News, and Rush Limbaugh. I do give the left credit, they seem to have more originality than us Right Wingers.
