Congress should focus on stimulating the economy not on larding up bills for their own self-interest. They should also read those bills before voting. If they can't read them because of too many pages, then use some common sense and make them shorter and clearer and No Pork from either party. I'm fed up with each party pointing the finger at the other. Both are right about each other. What does that tell you about the kind of people whom we have sent to Washington during the past 12 years? Don't let them catch you up in a net of focusing on who is most at fault. THEY ARE. BOTH PARTIES GOT US INTO THIS MESS. Maybe we need more people to run as independents.

Let me get this right: The media portrayed Bush as a disaster? It wasnt his fault? So we were right that Saddam was an immediate threat that had to be destroyed? And it was worth the $50 million cost? LOL. So the economy never imploded, gas never went to $4.50; and wall street deregulation was a great idea? The $5 trillion debt of the conservatives was all a fiction of the liberal media? NO! These things REALLY DID HAPPEN!

A conservatives definition of pork: Nation building in America; funding science. Only building toilets in Iraq is not pork.

Obama is investing $8 Billion in a 10-hub, 20-city high speed rail network, to finally catch us up to Europe and Japan. Its far more efficient than road or air, and will save us energy and pollution on a grand scale. Republicans? Its a boondoggle from las vegas to disneyland. What morons.

Ditto on the characterization of investing in the fuels and grids of the future.

President Obama traveling to Denver today to sign the stimulus bill was politically hypocritical. On one hand he is preaching Green and on the other hand he is flying around wasting fuel as well as tax payer dollars. You can't talk out of both sides of your mouth for very long before everyone notices the Emperor has no clothes.

The old, tired GOP whining becomes total absurdity at some point. Just keeping the propaganda machine humming for those who are not yet taking the hit from the economic kidney punches every one else is feeling.

If you are afraid of big gov you should have been shaking in your boots for the last eight years. It is the GOP we have to thank for the introduction of communist tactics in our politics.

They hold up Dems as being delusional, but the most delusional are usually the ones that are most convinced there enemies are.

god save us.the truth is out there but I am convinced very, very few of us know what it is.

It's all pork... who cares what these sheep are saying... this poll is obviously biased... We'll find out how big of a mistake this is soon.

People are losing their jobs everyday. And Republicans want more tax cuts. That's the only answer they have. How can a tax cut help my neighbor keep his house. It must be great to be so rich that the Bush-Deppression doesn't affect you. But mark my words if the economy contiues to slide the crime rate will rise. And whose house do you think the theives will be looking at.

I spent a couple of hours reading through a bit of the stimulus last night. It's over 700 pages. It contains block grants for American Samoa, money for Head Start, money for TV boxes, money to increase FBI salaries, money for violence against women, millions for tribal drug abuse, increases to the school lunch program.

Why can't congress come up with a program that works on it's intended purpose and not throw in items that have NOTHING to do with stimulating an economy? We are continually financing somthing other than what we are told and congress is screwing over the american people with our president as it's main pusher. I'm tired of being told the pot is black when it's red. American's need to stand up as a whole and demand honesty and integrity from their elected offficials. Until the stimulus is just that, I say NO!
