Polls Show Barack Obama Is Competitive Against John McCain in Arizona

Arizona has traditional clung to classic fiscal conservative traditions and used to have a strong and vital military presence too. Our bases have been cut back or eliminated, our population has grown and become more diverse. The old Barry Goldwater conservatives are dying off or growing much more mellow, as he did too before he died.

It is a welcome change from my point of view. Both philosophies bring something to the table, but in recent years the Religious Right had skewed the party into territory that too many moderates do not wish to go. Obama is a welcome breath of fresh and intellectual air. This old moderate is more than willing to take a chance on him, and hope mightily for his success!

Arizona elected Original McCain to the Senate. New McCain isn't worthy of the Presidency and the Arizona Poll numbers show that. Nasty Robo-calls from New McCain will go over as well as New Coke. He never should have messed with the original formula.

It's pretty bad when you can't even win over your own state. It doesn't surprise me, though. The largest newspaper in Alaska didn't even endorse Sarah Palin. Doesn't that make you wonder? Even major republicans are endorsing Obama. Just because McCain is a war hero, which I respect, it doesn't mean that he should automatically be the President of the United States. We've had 8 republicatn years...come on, give Obama a chance!

If McCain loses Arizona it will probably be due to the land swap deals for his rich pals. He brags about all he has done for Native Americans but I bet if we ask the Native Americans they probably will tell you of lost land they suffered because of the dirty deals. If anyone needs change for the better it is the indigenous people of Arizona. Travel through Arizona and see for yourself, twenty-six years living there and to no beneift of those who need it most.

Senator John McCain is a respected 72 year old American warrior, but he is on a path whose slope, however gentle, is downward.

On the contrary Senator Barack Obama is an intelligent, articulate, and insightful 47 year old American whose best years lie ahead of him; a man who graduated near the top of his class at Harvard Law School and was president of its Law Review; a man who understands and respects the American constitution because he was an instructor of constitutional law for 12 years at the University of Chicago Law School; a man familiar with the American legislative process because he served 3 terms as an Illinois State Senator and the past 4 years as a US Senator; a man acquainted with Washington but one who also brings fresh ideas and a passion for bringing about important and necessary changes in Washington.

Senator Obama is the man America needs today, and as the 44th American President he will be the man to lead America into the future.

People should not vote for a candidate just because he is from that particular state. McCain is just jaded. We certainly need new direction. McCain has let Sarah Palin, do as she pleases too much negativity. Obama is change if anything he will changed the preception the world has about Americans. However both candidats espescially McCain are blaming Wall street, when the real cause has been George Bush. This war in Iraq is going on for much too long. We never should have in that war to begin with. Where is the real culpit Bin Ladin. Just today it came out that oils companies have had the best year yet. Where do people in this country think the Bush family made their money Oil of cause. Wake up people. Bush does not give a damm about anyone, but his oil rich buddies. Bush should have never been president in the firt place. Actually McCain should have been the president these passed eight years. Now McCain is eight years too late for my liking. He looks like an angry old man.

Having topped the battle polls and now competitive in mccain's very living room, it's enough handwriting for him to call it quit. But he vows to fight on, meaning he never minds crashing together with the plane.

Arizona has been hit big time by the housing crisis. Neighborhoods are full of homes that have been foreclosed which drives the value of everyone's home down. John McCain may be from our state and we respect him, but we can't afford 4 more years of Republican policies! The people of Arizona are hurting, and many of us voting democratic!
