After a little fact-checking of my own...you were indeed correct about the timeline of the Iran-Contra affair. Hezbollah had the six hostages Reagan wanted released by the summer of 1985, making Reagan 74 at the time. Brian, you were correct. Unfortunately, we won't know anything more on that topic since the operation documents were shredded by high government officials.

Your man McCain, ( expert on the Iraq war) had to be bailed out by the CBS editing room back in July of this year....quoting the McCain statement, "Colonel McFarland was contacted by one of the major Sunni sheiks. Because of the surge, we were able to go out and protect that sheik and others and it began the "Anbar Awakening." I mean, that's just a matter of history."

Too bad the Sunni Awakening happened in August 2006, and our surge was announced by the President in January of 2007. The sheik McCain refered to was killed in December of 2007.

In response to the "decisive" talk aimed at Russia, your man may be going a bit overboard. Without the the full cooperation of NATO and all of Europe, we simply do not have the resources to deal with a police action against Russia. We have over 100,000 troops overseas. We are 10 trillion dollars in debt and growing.

We may not see eye to eye on politics, but I respect the fact that we both want what's best for our nation.

Regards,

Larry

Up anywhere from +10 to even.. not moving.. perhaps you might reconsider your statement on her effect. Politics is changing right before your eyes and you are blind to it.

My beloved american citizens, just a simple question to all...

Do you want a community organizer as our next President? Or do you want a REAL American HERO?

-One who risks his life for his country

-One who is a straight talker

-One who has the experience needed

-One who always being PROUD of being an American or

do you want someone that has a wife giving a speech I quote saying, " I have never being proud of this country until now" that my sweet husband is running for the presidency!!!

Ultimately, is YOUR choice! Both candidates are good candidates with different priorities, but only one has the experience to make the correct changes in America.

VOTE right.

Who knew McCain was running for President last week. It was all about Sarah. She's shinning, grinning, and finning soon she'll just spin off stage. Hoooooooray!

I have hope that the upcoming generations that will continue to form our great nation sees what needs to be done. Go forward with respect to everyones opinions and still have their own! The last 8 years have made me question how we got here especially the last 4! We do need a change and McCain's not the person for that change ~ OBAMA I believe is the man to go forward. We need the vision to go forward not backward and get out of the mess Bush/Cheeney got us in to. I want our children and grandchildren to be thankful we cared enough about our country, their education, and the enviornment to change the course we are currently on with this Republican administration.

Well today I see that Gov Palin and JohnMcCain are now on the Campaign trail together with John McCain standing next to her like a supervisor whilst she is giving the speeches (but not accepting media questions)

Perhaps one day they will let her face the public alone, but it looks like currently she is 'learning on the job'

Kimberly nailed it. The democrats frame feminism in the narrow confines of "supporting a womans right to choose" This false criteria does not allow for the "diversity" they say they represent.

But she states it much better see below!!!!

...and Palin (a radicalized McCain) and I hold exactly zero common views. She may know a bit about oil, but I am equally concerned about radioactive waste; something I know a LOT about.

I find actions she has taken, including cruel aerial wolf and bear hunting, litigating to delist the endangered polar bear, and now her desire to prevent listing of the baluga whale preposterous.

I believe in God, served on my vestry and sing in my church choir. Nonetheless, I find her view that God is anywhere involved in war, oil pipelines, etc. insulting and preposterous. Her views are dominionist and radical--and scary.

I'm a straight woman, but her views on the issue of same gender marriage (and benefits) are in direct opposition to mine.

That she believes creationism and intelligent design belong taught in science classes is chilling. Neither is science. She is a creationist. No problem. Just don't teach it in school.

My most fearful area of concern, however, is foreign affairs especially should she inadvertently rise to the presidency. In this regard, many college students are better qualified that she is yet the issue of foreign affairs is directly tied to our national security, something she also knows nothing about.

That the McCain campaign has, and will be, limiting her access to the press obviates her inability to speak to critical issues on her feet, unscripted.

Her choice was an absolute shame.
