Obama Should Cut Costs by Working with—Not around—Congress

It should be clear by now to everyone that we cannot provide health care via medicare, medicaid; and social security without maintaining a reasonable tax rate.

Our deficit will continue to grow as long as we don't add some tax revenue.

Grover Norquist stated on TV that he wanted government to be so small you could drown it in a bath tub. That small a government could not govern and chaos would ensue and them has the gold would rule, absolutely.

The Bush tax cuts now over 10 years in place would have generated over 4 trillion dollars. Who has the money - the rich. Who needed it - the government.

We have been at war for 10 years and no one addresses the extra cost. Lyndon Johnson said we cannot afford guns and butter.

The bitter partisan divide is now so well entranced the poor from each side are fighting each other while the rich from each side quietly count their money.

We have the most costly government in 30 years and the tax rates are the lowest in 50-60 years. At one time they were 90% and then down to 75%. This is not protecting the job creators but the sponsorship of Dynasty Building.

All the middle class who cry for spending cuts, cry even louder when they find its their medicare and social security that will be cut, but too late.

We accept blatant lies in the political process so you could say we are a nation that believes lies by politicians to get into office and then we expect them to tell us the truth when they are in office.

Denmark has 49% taxes but has college free, 3 months family leave paid, health care free, and so on. We could learn from some of these countries but we elect slow learners who insist on reinventing the wheel on everything.

May God help us, but I don't think he is anymore. We have removed him from the conversation, and he has turned and walked away, and we didn't even notice he was gone.

Learn how TOTCO (The One They Call Obama) along with his band of cronies and sycophants, are systematically dismantling the Constitution of the United States, The Bill of Rights and the Second Amendment.

Our U.S. Constitution states that there are three branches of federal government:

1) Executive

2) Legislative

3) Judicial

Obama continues his "Hope and Change" agenda to eliminate all three and replace our entire constitution with his step-by-step process to "dictatorship".

How appropriate to view a photo of Castro heading the top of this page. Typical liberal/progressive "diplomacy" ...if you can't have it or earn it honestly, just steal it!

Again, you are spot on, Peter Roff. Please, keep up your excellect work.

What a horribly biased and misleading opinion piece. What you fail to mention is that this in no way gives Obama any 'blanket authority' to do anything. First, Congress must grant him this authority - the authority to merely propose ideas. Second, if the president wants to make any changes congress must vote to accept or deny those changes within 90 days of the proposal. So really, the president can't make any changes without congress' approval. The nice thing about this proposal is that it requires the congress to make and up or down vote. This gets around the constant filibustering the Republicans in this congress have been engaging in more than in any other congress in history.

Roff. Listen to him. He is the guy who was pushing Sarah Palin for POTUS.

And where are we now? Thanks to the DISASTERS of the GOP, Sarah Palin and Rush Limbaugh, we are (again) saddled with a substandard GOP Nominee: Romney.

Two elections in a row and Limbaugh can't deliver!! Please. Just go away. You are killing the Party.

Palin and Limbaugh FOOLS and FOLLOWERS - start your own Party - The Nitwit Party. You have no home in the Republican Party.

(And you know who you are....they are on this website saying again "Run Sarah run!" She ain't running you nitwits! She never was. She's a bad celebrity like the Kardashians. You are like little children. Go back in your caves.)
