Solyndra Is Symptomatic of a Larger Obama Energy Problem

I love the focus on efficiency and individual companies, but dude - do your research. I invite you to check out how much of ARRA funding was devoted to energy efficiency measures, including weatherization (which outside of media histrionics have done extremely well), state energy program funding, conservation block grants, and so forth. Many billions of dollars invested that have led to tens of thousands of direct jobs, and many tens of thousands of indirect and induced jobs. Then of course, there's the work on building codes, appliance standards and other measures that increase efficiency in the building environment and consumer products respectively. Let's not forget fuel efficiency either - the most aggressive CAFE standards ever are because of this Administration.

Actually, I don't feel better at all! Fact is, every day that (I don't have the heart to call him a "president") person is in office and I read of his continuing bizarre and corrupted behaviors, I only get angrier!

....which is one reason I don't come on-line too often (blood pressure, you know!).

Meanwhile, I'm going to cool down and have a nice Thanksgiving. Best wishes and I hope you and your family do likewise.

Feel better , well put .

Makes me think of the 3 billion he gave to Brazil for oil drilling and saying he wanted the U.S. to be the best customer while closing our oil fields and laying our workers off .

And they wonder why taxpayers have had enough . Whether it be higher taxes , goverment spending and no results , Obama himself , the OWS pinheads , the generations of the entitlement society wanting more and contributing near zero , public sector unions demanding more and not wanting to help pay thier own way , the list can go on .

Enough ..

"Green fiascoes and boondoggles"

Ener1, whose subsidiary EnerDel received a $118 million federal grant, lost $165 million in fiscal 2010 and has dim prospects. According to the Journal, Ener1 had "lost its bid to supply batteries to Fisker Automotive, a battery-powered car maker which received a $529 million U.S. taxpayer-backed federal loan guarantee in 2010," when "Fisker chose to buy its batteries from a company called A123 Systems, itself the recipient of a $249 million U.S. Department of Energy grant."

Great! First Team Obama extends taxpayer dollars to green companies, then it torpedoes them by giving larger grants to their competitors. Meanwhile, Fisker, itself a recipient of over a half-billion dollar handout from Uncle Sam, is making its cars in Finland.

You're not choking yet???......

Team Obama's record on creating green jobs is no more confidence-inspiring than its record in midwifing a viable electric car industry.

A recent study by the Labor Department's Inspector General examined what became of $162.8 million of Obama stimulus money funneled to the Employment and Training Administration. Set up to "train and prepare individuals for careers in 'green jobs,'" the score is this: 53,000 individuals were trained, 8,035 got jobs, and only 1,033 trainees still held those jobs after six months.

Of the several scandals that are now rocking the Obama Administration that are known .....the question is, how many are "unknown"??

"The Keystone Pipeline Scandal Could Be Worse Than Solyndra, Fast And Furious For Obama"

The handling of the construction of the Keystone Pipeline by the Obama Administration, and the political reasons for its rejection, have the potential to foment bipartisan rage against the president as the 2012 campaign season approaches.

The Keystone Pipeline would be a significant construction project that would build a trans-national pipeline that would transmit the crude oil from shale oil sands in Canada and transport it nearly to Mexico. The construction project was estimated to have the potential to create nearly 20,000 union jobs in a number of states, including pro-Democratic states like Illinois and swing states like Missouri. Furthermore, the project would fulfill nearly 7 percent of America's oil needs and would sharply reduce dependence on foreign oil producers like Venezuela and Saudi Arabia.

Here is the latest "never-ending" crapola from the Obama Administration in recent news reports:

"Contractors Claim Administration Pressed to 'Soften' Job-Loss Estimates From Mining Rule"

The Obama administration pressured analysts to change an environmental review to reflect fewer job losses from a proposed regulation, the contractors who worked on the review testified Friday.

The dispute revolves around proposed changes to a rule regulating coal mining near streams and other waterways. The experts contracted to analyze the impact of the rule initially found that it would cost 7,000 coal jobs.

The Obama Administration is certainly making the former lowly Carter Administration look "heaven sent", wouldn't you think?
