Sarah Palin Was Right About Paul Revere

Sarah worked her way thru college, even having to take a year off to save enough money to continue..a muslim billionaire in London paid for Obama's affirmative action years at Harvard Law where he extolled the virtues of marxism and marxist professor Handy (sp?) as an undergraduate..still waiting for his transcipts from Columbia and Occidental College, the latter where he failed due to hard drug abuse..I'd bet my life Sarah would beat him by 25 points in any general knowledge or IQ test..without his teleprompter, he is an un-educated Chicago thug like Eric Holder and Valerie Jarrett...who never has had a real job who is destroying our military and our country...playing golf while his 34 radical czars run the country..and spending our grandchildren's money like water over the dam...and selling out Israel and the Middle East to Muslim Brotherhoodlums ..we can only Hope for Change in November!

That particular British raid was EXPRESSLY for the purpose of rounding up the rebel leaders AND THEIR WEAPONS to put an end to the fledgling rebellion. Second amendment? Seriously. What a lame excuse. They were British occupied cities, and most governments take arms from citizens, shocker here, not to protect those citizens but to keep them from revolting. That's exactly what was happening that night.

Come on, Roff. She claimed Revere was ringing bells and firing shots to let the British know they "weren't gonna be takin' our arms." He didn't ring bells, he didn't fire shots, and it had nothing to do with taking guns. This was waaaaay before the Second Amendment. Given enough opportunities, everyone misspeaks, but focusing on this seems really defensive. She doesn't know her U.S. history, and poring over history books and articles looking for minutia that supports her idiotic claims isn't going to change that. And just because most news sources wouldn't offer her a job (except one) doesn't mean there's a media conspiracy out to get her. Everyone knows the most biased news source out there is the one she works with. Grow up and open your eyes.

Palin's comment, syntax and grammar aside, was that Revere was warning the British that they could not take our guns. Admittedly, we rarely hear about bells, though some church bells did ring that night, we hear about the lanterns that were to let those across the river know what direction to ride. Watch the video where ever you find the link again, some of you are wrong in the quotes you are making.

As for honest people to run for office, I doubt there ever were such people. Why would someone want to give up part of their life for a thankless job unless they got something out of it? We have few servants in this world, and that includes Sarah Palin.

I do not care for Sarah Palin but that is my opinion. It has little to do with this particular incident. Sarah is right that the British were being warned. But they were NOT being warned that Americans were waiting to attack them, they were being warned that Americans would not allow them to rule us in the manner they had been doing, taking our rights (not our guns) and not allowing us the same rights and freedoms of any other British citizen (which we still were at the time).

You might get a better view of the attitudes and politics involved if you watched the musical 1776. While it is very stylized as to what happened, it does present a good view of what was going on in the minds of the people involved, what their motives were and so on. Revere is not in it, and Washington is only presented in absentia, but it is the 2nd Continental Congress during the 2 months before July 4, 1776. Rather an enjoyable version of the facts. And at this remove, that is all we can have, versions and interpretations of the facts.

How about a link to Paul Revere's statements about his purpose in riding?

Samuel Gruen of FL 9:52PM July 05, 2011

Peter Roff is obviously on drugs. We have what Palin said on video. She said Revere got on his horse, a shootin' his gun and a ringin' his bell, to warn the Brits about the Americans. Why would somebody who supported the revolution think he should get on his horse a shootin' his gun and a ringin' his bell to WARN THE BRITS ABOUT ANYTHING? he is parsing like a paid for political hack, trying anything, no matter how idiotic, to somehow defend Palin's laughable view of American history. Because he is...He works for Fox, the political arm of the GOP. why even quote this lying pig?

Why is wrong with the media? The same thing that is wrong with the elite in Disneyland East. Are there no honest people in the world anymore to run for office and how do I determine which liar is telling the closest to the truth. It is impossible my friends.
