Sorry, Bill Hedges of MO, I could not resist your "very certain pronouncement" on Bill Clinton's false surplus, but, in all fairness, I did not take Bill Clinton's word that HE was making a "very certain pronouncement" either. So, instead of my jabbering away about the topic (It seems it annoys you so), I would like to direct you to this link that gives a more "measured" pronouncement of the facts. We still DO want the facts, don't we?

Really, Mr Goff? The GOP LIKES Paul Ryan's Budget Plan? This comes as such a surprise to all of us. Your news flashes are spellbinding. Is it possible for you to "liven up" your articles? I am also dumbfounded that this budget is on the table just in time for the "coming economic crisis." I understand that we have been in a tax crisis for several years now. Even after President Reagan cut taxes, he admitted cutting taxes does not work. It did not work over 100 years ago when it was called "Horse and Sparrow Economics." It did not work for George W. Bush, but what is the logic of how it will work for the better in Ryan's new and improved tax cuts?

I am concerned that so many are all for Paul Ryan's budget plan, but under Ryan's plan, it would take 50 more years until the budget is balanced. Are you all certain about the nest 50 years? Will this budget, too, go awry in ten years? What budget will we revise then? Ryan, who is said to love numbers and accounting, was still not accurate in saying that Discretionary Spending in Obama's budget would be up 84%.

So, are there even more inaccuracies than this? I cannot keep up with the accuracy of budget promises! I worry about any politician of any party who does not aim for accuracy, or does not, at least, correct his/her own inaccuracies. I am growing quite fond of Bernie Sanders; in fact, I think I love him, but I am finding it increasingly difficult to believe anyone else with "Supreme Court Justice," "Representative." or "Senator" in front of their name. What is to become of all of us?

Isn't there some group out there who believes the truth in news information is essential, vital, imperative, and a matter of life and death for our country if we are to continue as a democracy?

Ryan's Plan is garbage, so this is a good reason to throw these bum GOP govs out.

Anyone taking Ryan's Plan seriously is not working for the interests of the American people. You can't support swindlers and not have some of their scum rub off on you.

Where are your numbers and links.

Proof...

hey bill h. if the rich,as you say, create all these jobs it only fair to ask you where are they? under george bush, with his tax cuts, was the the most abysmal period of job growth since the great depression.

as for the wealthy and paying taxes they have far more write off,s than the average person,so their percentage of the tax burden is less than the average middle class worker.

as to paul ryan, the flim-flam man, with his"road map for america"the only place the road leads for lower and middle class people is to the bread lines.this is typical of the republicans to try to balance the budget on the backs of those who can least afford it.

as to haley barbour and chris christie, those two neocons,it would be expected that they would endorse it,just like others of their ilk.

S/S piggy bank has been robbed, how Bill Clinton claimed a false surplus. Ryan's budget cuts is not stealing from this fund.

Rich pay more taxes with tax cuts. They invest. Create jobs. Top 40 % tax payers pay 99.1 % of Federal income tax revenue.S/S piggy bank has been robbed, how Bill Clinton claimed a false surplus. Ryan's budget cuts is not stealing from this fund.

Devil is in the details:

Turns out Ryan's Budget is really a pile of tax cuts for the rich, and then he slashes budgets to pay for those tax cuts. Then Ryan's budget adopts Obama withdrawal form Iraq and Afghanistan as Republican budget cuts and claims its a Republican idea - an idea Republicans have been fight tooth and nail all along.

This Ryan budget is a slight of hand.

Ryan really has just restated the attempt to make permanent Bush's Tax Cuts for the Rich. They failed before with this because most Americans want to raise taxes on billionaires.

Ryan's budget is a redistribution of the wealth for the Rich, its socialism for the wealthy. No risk with bailouts for too-big-to-fail companies who don't even pay any taxes, generous corporate welfare, and govt handouts to billionaires - sure sounds like socialism that's Ryan is peddlin'. All while Ryan's budget will kill any safety net for average Americans and raid the Social Security Trust funds average Americans have paid into.

Its getting pretty pathetic how dishonest these Republicans are anymore.

Thank you Paul Ryan for facing the music. We already know we can't count on Medicare. We alreday know doctors don't want to take it and that death panels already exist (doctors will recommend going the morphine route -- hospice -- even when there are options). If you are in your 30-50's, and you've been paying attention, you already know how it is for your parents. Remember this article from the Times -- and it's only getting worse (and will be much worse if we let Obamacare happen!)

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/04/02/business/retirementspecial/02health.html

We have known that we can't count on Medicare, so WHY not make a REAL change -- take it out of the feds hands. I really hope that Ryan's budget gets to see the light of day! It can really save us from the madness.

As a Democrat, I'm really pleased to see Rep. Ryan's willingness to address entitlement reform head-on. It's courageous and necessary, though reasonable people will differ on the detail. Where I depart is on the accompanying massive tax cuts - surely if you removed the tax-cuts the budget would come into balance that much sooner. - ie, not 2040. So let's be honest and agree that what is required is a mix of entitlement reform, selective spending cuts, and yes, tax rises (and certainly not tax cuts).

Paul Ryan's budget makes the most sense of any budget proposal since Ronald Reagan's administration. Government cannot match the efficiencies of free enterprise, even with its greed and its inadequacies. The government has not managed Medicare, social security of any retirement plan successfully. The idea that someone should be entitled to a retirement just because they are an American and happen to be of a certain age is no longer feasible.

Medicare is living on borrowed time (and money). Get used to it. Ryan's budget

will return our economy to what has made our nation such a success in the past. Free market competition amongst business entities. Ultimately, this will result in lower costs and more efficient organizations.

Stupid is continuing the status quo of more debt and government handouts.
