! 3% of the funding Planned parenthood receives goes to abortions!!!! ONLY 3%!!! I am a 4.0 GPA hard working college student and planned parenthood helps me afford birth control!!

Maybe you should stop being ignorant and look up where all the funding goes for planned parenthood?!?!?!

Should be Planned Parenthood not Roe v Wade...

Bill Hedges of MO 4:00PM February 19, 2011

De-funding Roe v Wade does not overturn legal abortion.

There are plenty of other places that do “many procedures other than abortions”. Free if qualified.

There will be a lot of liberal dramatics like your “put women's health at risk ” as debt is brought down. Yours is baseless in fact.

I’m not touching your “uterus”, just saying, if passed, government is not paying for your abortion anymore. Am sure liberals will gladly donate to help fund planned Parenthood.

I worked all my life and was forced to pay into social security and medicare. My employer matched mine. There was interest for over 40 years. Yet I expect to loss some benefits.

With responsible precautions there is no need for abortion except in rare circumstance.

The “attack” is on never seen humongous National Debt in America. As if you didn’t know.

I note that whenever an individual, who does not believe in the right to life, refers to the unborn they use the words ; zygotes, fetus or simply “a clump of cells”. But you know, I have never heard expectant mothers saying things like; “My clump of cells is a girl.” or, “My zygote is due in 8 months.” nor do they say, “I feel my fetus kicking.” It seems it is the “wanting” of us that now defines our worth as humans and when life begins.

These invisible, “unwanted lives” need to be depersonalized by the irresponsible - the unborn within the womb denied their humanity. The baby then becomes a “Choice” when it is unwanted by the selfish. It is transformed into a “personal decision” by the vote hungry politician and a burdensome “inconvenience” to the self-absorbed student or career minded professional. It is defined as “women’s health issue” or a “reproductive right” by the careless, thoughtless hedonist.

I guess reality is sometimes just too painful to face head on - better to avert our eyes, speak in euphemisms and close our minds to the slaughter in the womb. After all, it's not a life - it's a "choice".

No one is saying that Planned Parenthood cannot continue to provide any of the services they currently provide to women. What the Congress voted to do today means they may not be able to do it with the taxpayers' money. Let them raise it privately. The idea that this is an attack on "women's health" is a misdirection, nothing more.

I don't want to hear one man comment on what I or any other woman does with their uterus. Planned Parenthood provides so many procedures other than abortions. This is nothing more than an attack on Roe v. Wade and these disgusting men are willing to put women's health at risk to do so.

the republican plan to defund planed parenthood is at best misguided(since abortion is legal in the u.s ) and at it,s worst an attack on woman,s healthcare rights.

i though the republicans first order of business was going to be working on job creation. well so much for that promise.

Let the liberal Hollywood gang give $$$ and have fund raisers. That's what we do for our CAUSES.

Fire paid employees and use volunteers. From Doctor to receptionist.

For such a noble cause should be easy ???

Bill Hedges of MO 6:05PM February 18, 2011

They don't get it, do they? Without Planned Parenthood a lot of unemployed women who don't have insurance won't be able to get pap smears and pelvic exams. Couples, married or not, won't be able to get their birth control in a safe effective manner, thereby preventing unwanted pregnancies and PREVENTING the need for abortion. Planned Parenthood has always provided me, personally, with excellent medical care at a price I could afford.

Now what? What about all the women and couples who filled their offices every day? What about them? Where will they go?

This is unbelievably short sighted and I regard it as an attack on every uninsured woman in America.
