More Evidence of Pro-Obama Mainstream Media Bias

When you live in a brain bubble like apparently "Steve" does, it is so difficult to comprehend that anyone could possibly disagree with "progressive" views. Therefore, the best response that these "educated" liberals come up with is, in effect, "You're STOOPID!" with perhaps a little foot stomping thrown in for emphasizing their point. Sorry Stevie, it's okay...take a nap now and when you wake up in November it will all be over. Nighty-night.

Conservatism is mostly hate. Period.

steve of IL 9:38PM September 23, 2010

ignore his posts.

Steve of IL says most conservatives are generally less intelligent and less educated than liberals. I don't think so.

I have a BS from Carnegie-Mellon, and an MBA, am a speed-reader and can read 1200 words a minute with above 95% comprehension, had a significant role as programming designer for the on-line and offline system of NASDAQ, including yhe development of the quotation system and the NASDAQ Index, am a Life member of my Boy Scout Council and created the first Boy Scout World Cyberspace Jamboree, was a member of the National Honor Guard at a Republican National Convention, and consider myself a dedicated conservative.

Oh yes, I am also the Past Natioanl Chairman of American Mensa.

I couldn’t help but be amused by the rant from ‘Steve of IL’, who wrote “…Liberals are more educated and accomplished than right wingers by far. Yes, there are educated, intelligent right wingers … but most are not. They're mostly a bunch of prejudiced, home schooled morons who confuse inculcation with education… Maybe they should read a book.” as his comments give the lie to his pretensions of education and intelligence.

You see, thinking of people in terms of these mindless stereotypes is a hallmark of the ignorant and mentally lazy. He would probably call me a right-winger, though I graduated from William and Mary, and two of my closest friends, both of whom are much more conservative than me (and both of whom are active Tea Partiers), graduated with advanced degrees from UVA and UNC-Chapel Hill, and I can assure Steve that each of us has, in fact, read books.

I wonder if Steve is employed in academia, as academics love to trot out the argument that since those in academia are overwhelmingly liberal, and since they are, of necessity, smart, therefore liberals are smart and those who disagree with them must, therefore, be stupid. I’d like to point out another group that is overwhelmingly liberal, namely actors and musicians. I wouldn’t accuse many in the Hollywood Left of an excess of intelligence, and I would say that what these groups have in common is, in fact, an annoying combination of naivete and smug self-righteousness, and a blithe disregard for the practical results of the policies they advocate. I would also add that the reason many call you ‘elitists’ is not because they ‘resent the educated’, but because so many on the left, such as yourself, are in fact superficial poseurs with pretensions of education, full of contempt for anyone who dares to disagree with them. Oh, and Rush’s last name is spelled ‘Limbaugh’, not ‘Limbough’.

Steve of NC 3:54PM September 23, 2010

Liberals are more educated and accomplished than right wingers by far. Yes, there are educated, intelligent right wingers (Milton Freidman; Bill Buckley; George Will, Thomas Hobbes, etc.) but most are not. They're mostly a bunch of prejudiced, home schooled morons who confuse inculcation with education. This is quite sad. Maybe they should read a book. I've been accused of bias for using peer reviewed scholarship, primary sources (government documents, newspapers, written legal opinions) and professional journalism but Bill Hedges gets a pass for using Rush Limbough, gateway pundit and the 700 Club. You people are pathetic. You resent the educated. Come to think of it I'm sure that is what's driving this whole tea party mess to begin with. That's why you call us all "elitists."

The Bush the article is talking about is the first President Bush, not the second. So your tirade about Bush makes no sense in that you are talking about the wrong president - of course it, like you, made no sense anyway.

As far as embarrassments I would put you there Peter - as a perfect example of the total embarrassment that pompous jackasses like you have made of my party - i.e. the Democratic Party.

David of PA 2:40PM September 23, 2010

PETER ROFF...

You mentioned the comparison and difference between President Obama and President Bush making a mistake, and you almost answered the question yourself. You however, did not quite take the final step of admitting that there is NO comparison between both individuals.

I would therefore complete that thought process for you. Here it is.

In President Obama's case, the examples you mentioned were quite clearly mistakes, since we all err as human beings. And your very first sentence asknowledges this fact.

In President Bush's case, his errors were due to ignorance and his being obviously out of his league.

I would like the opportunity to prove this to you, if you have the guts to accept the challenge. Here it is.

I am prepared to bet you that I could produce a list of 1,000 republicans IN E A C H OF THE 50 STATES more and better qualified than Bush to be President of the USA.

That's a total of 50,000 republicans, and does not include democrats or independents.

Sorry Peter, but your BUSH is the dumbest and greatest embarassment this country has ever seen. And don't take my word for it, ....just ask The Dixie Chicks -- who are also from Texas.

Don't get me wrong Peter, I miss Bush being President.

I miss seeing him making a complete fool of himself and being at an absolute loss for words to adequately express any ideas to cross his inadequate brain.

The disparities you mentioned are REALLY disparities in truth and in fact. There is no comparison between a joke or a simple error on one hand -- and on the other hand COMPLETE IGNORANCE, STUPIDITY AND WITCHCRAFT. ("I can see Russia from my house").

Now Peter, if you for one instance are man enough, do yourself a fovor .....and GOOGLE "Bush gaffes".

Peter Piper of FL 2:30PM September 23, 2010

It is corrupt. Liberals have no shame, no integrity and certainly no honesty. Just look at the ratings of ABC, CBS and NBC as well as this rag of a magazine....they are all going out of business because they are puppets of the Obama administration.

hank of MI 1:46PM September 23, 2010

Well Jerry, we know by your description which one you are. I would label the two the wise and the ignorant, you being the latter.
