Tweet Share on Facebook September 28, 2010 Comment (11)It’s beginning to look like the Democrats are going to have to deal with the consequences of the 2010 election for a very, very long time.

The Cuomo-Paladino N.Y. Gubernatorial Race Is 2010’s Nastiest
Tweet Share on Facebook September 25, 2010 Comment (19)It’s too soon to tell for sure but all indications are that the New York gubernatorial race will end up being the nation’s nastiest. That’s because, despite all expectations, the November election turned out to be between two heavyweights who are each committed to doing whatever it takes to win.

The Tea Party Movement Is a Women's Movement

More Evidence of Pro-Obama Mainstream Media Bias
Tweet Share on Facebook September 22, 2010 Comment (49)Like all elected leaders, President Barack Obama has experienced his share of gaffes and mistakes. For instance, the time he talked during the 2008 campaign about having visited all 57 states or the clumsy way he inserted himself into the controversy involving the Cambridge police and a well-known member of the Harvard faculty, calling the police “stupid.”

Another Poll Shows Independent Voters Lining Up With Republicans
Tweet Share on Facebook September 21, 2010 Comment (8)Yet another poll is out showing the independent-minded voters are looking askance at Barack Obama and the Democrats.
Independent Women's Voice commissioned veteran pollster Doug Schoen—the founding partner of Penn, Schoen & Berland and the American Association of Political Consultants' 1996 "Pollster of the Year"—to conduct a survey of independent voters to see how they are lining up going into the November election.

Are Democrats Planning a Government Shutdown?
Tweet Share on Facebook September 18, 2010 Comment (19)It was supposed to be the "December Surprise.”

Why Christine O’Donnell Can Win the Delaware Senate Race
Tweet Share on Facebook September 16, 2010 Comment (37)The “smart people” have apparently decided that no one is going to vote for Delaware Republican Senate candidate Christine O’Donnell in November. This is a bit of a stretch considering that a) lots of people have already voted for her--which is how she won Tuesday’s GOP primary, and b) the earliest post-election polls show her trailing her opponent, Democrat Chris Coons, by only 10 points in a race that has, thus far, only focused on O’Donnell.

Defending the Tea Party Desire to Amend the Constitution
Tweet Share on Facebook September 15, 2010 Comment (3)A number of prominent writers, including my bloleague Robert Schlesinger, believe they have spotted an inconsistency between the so-called “Tea Party types’” veneration of the U.S. Constitution and their desire to amend it.
It’s an interesting observation but one that is off the mark. The desire to change the Constitution by amending it is actually an expression of respect for it rather than a kind of populist inconsistency.
Let me explain.

Murkowski’s Alaska Senate Scramble Presents 2012 Test for Palin
Tweet Share on Facebook September 10, 2010 Comment (16)Events in Alaska pose an interesting challenge for Sarah Palin. Her support of attorney Joe Miller is cited, rightly or wrongly, as the key factor in his upending of Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski in the recent GOP Senate primary.
