The Republican March to Majority Is Stalling

The republicans have never stood for anything. They always trot out the same old slogans and the uneducated buy it. Then they get into office and fatten their own wallets and take care of big business and the rich. This

is nothing new.

I had to expound on Steve of IL's comment, and second that of Matt of IL. The only violence I have seen to date is from the left. In fact, I just listened to King Shabbaz in Philly call for the murder of crackers, especially cracker babies and the women who breed them like baby factories. Would you call that "violent?"

Us Tea Party people are great at yelling and hollering, and that's about it. Oooh, how violent! But I will promise you one thing: we are all patriots, and we will not be pushed over that cliff. The Constitution is our banner, and Democrat and Republican alike need to keep it as our rule. When that goes out the window, so do all the rules.

We live by rule of law, not rule of people. When there is no law, there is anarchy. When the law is warped to fit the government, there is oligarchy. Neither will be allowed to exist in this country, except it be over the bodies of those who will only live as free men. Samuel Adams said this:

"Contemplate the mangled bodies of your countrymen, and then say 'what should be the reward of such sacrifices?' Bid us and our posterity bow the knee, supplicate the friendship and plough, and sow, and reap, to glut the avarice of the men who have let loose on us the dogs of war to riot in our blood and hunt us from the face of the earth? If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom - go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!"

Think about that, and about on who's side yo will stand.

...much like Mt. Vesuvius the night before!!!

It appears Peter Roff had nothing else controversial to write about!

Steve, sounds like you need to get away from MSNBC. Compare any Tea Party rally to the G-20 summit and tell me who is really being violent here. Wasn't it Obama who said to "get in their faces"? Wasn't it SEIU thugs who were assaulting people at town hall meetings? Didn't the Dems use "target maps" during the 2004 election? Didn't lib talk show host Brian Maloney suggest Glen Beck should follow the "family tradition" and kill himself? Wasn't Lou Dobb's house shot up? Isn't just about everything Keith Olbermann says reeking of vile hatred towards some conservative person? Didn't some liberals threaten to show up at the armed rally in Virginia and light fireworks to spark an incident of firearm violence? I suppose all of these things are acceptable in your mind, but if you can handle it from the left then you should be able to handle it from the right.

Violence is not part of our heritage? Where were you in history class? Many immigrants came here to escape persecution only to commit violence against the natives when they got here. When they were not killing Indians they were hanging suspected witches in Salem or tar-and-feathering unpopular leaders. Following years of violence such as the Boston Massacre we then fought the British in the Revolutionary War, only to fight the British again in 1812. We were fighting Mexicans in 1836 followed by the Civil War just a few decades later. We couldn't make it to the year 1900 before the Spanish-American war started. WWI followed in 1914, followed by WWII, the Korean War, Vietnam War, Desert Storm, and fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan. Every generation living in this country since arrival of the Mayflower has seen bloody violence and war. I have not even begun to discuss the level of criminal violence we Americans have used against each other. Face it, we have always been a violent bunch.

The racist screaming is getting worn out. Being against obamacare got us called racist. Forget it failed under Clinton.

obama's beer gate, oil gate, etc. 80 % of GREEN stimulus jobs going overseas to BP and others show bad planning for job creation here at home.

If conservatives just get their act together will have a repeat Newt style evolution.

I never understood people so in love with their own ideas that they lack a basic curiosity about other sources of information and views. In my opinion, it is the height of ignorance to sit in front of FOX all day and then listen to Rush Limbaugh or some other hater/name caller and think one is "educating" ones self.

I have always availed myself of conservative ideas, albeit those expressed intelligently by scholars who have produced respected, peer reviewed research. I have as much contempt for sloppy, inaccurate left wing smear and hyperbole as I do for that on the right!!

People have been subject to a barrage of hateful propaganda by the organized right which is intimately connected to the GOP. This is beyond dispute. Many GOP elected officials routinely stump for the tea parties and repeat the lies and myths often heard on FOX news publicly. They use violent innuendo such as "don't retreat, reload" and “You’ve got to make the fella scared to come out of his house,” a public campaign statement to supporters by Allen West of Florida referring to his election opponent Ron Klein.

Apparently, there are many disciples of the "Sarah Palin School of Public Rhetoric" spewing violent speech. This is frequently called "dog whistling," a subtle message to supporters that what was formerly unacceptable is now ok. In essence, it's a covert plea to take the gloves off.

"West’s mentor Sarah Palin is also no stranger to using violent references in her communications. Palin last month unveiled a national political map using rifle crosshairs to mark the members of Congress across the country who supported healthcare reform. “West and his mentor Sarah Palin are shamefully stoking violent language and symbolism that threatens the safety of our leaders and public officials,” Ceasar said. “The hard working people of South Florida know that inciting people with extreme and violent language sometimes leads to far more violent and monstrous acts. It’s sad that Allen West and Sarah Palin lack the basic decency, common sense and responsibility to realize this.”

Mike Vanderboegh, former leader of the Alabama Constitutional Militia, recently called for hundreds of thousands of gun owners to "point their muzzles at the hearts of tyrants" when discussing ways to oppose recent congressional legislation. Reports have come out linking Vanderboegh's statements to recent violence against Democratic Party offices.

Over the past two years there has been several violent incidents linked to official, organized right wing agitation. Shootings and other violent acts were knowingly inspired by violent public pronouncements by popular figures in the GOP and other conservative activists. The American people are turned off by all the agitation to violence. It isn't part of our heritage.

the democrats and progressives keep "painting" the Tea Party and republicans as racist , keep expanding unemployment ( instead of really creating jobs ) , keep expanding on the 48 % that don't already pay taxes , keep demonizing the "rich" and "big business" , keep expanding the people dependant on goverment handouts , the republicans will always have a tough time .

It's all for votes and power , they are running this country down for their own political agenda , pretty soon we will lose everything we and our grandfathers and fathers fought and died for , FREEDOM . Very sad .

Hunter of WI 6:20PM July 22, 2010

To pull snouts out of the government/union trough with the economy in shambles.

Add to that block of voters the permanent "victim" classes fostered by the Dems, and the progressive left media - well, it's pretty hard to see conservatives gaining much ground.
