Why Democrats Fear the Tea Party Movement

The tea bag party. They scream about cutting taxes but when you ask them what programs they would like to see cut they provide a list that, curiously enough, doesn't that doesn't inconvenience them. The want to cut taxes except for the services they want, need or enjoy. So in reality its all about tax the other guy, but not me.

Not very original and totally unworkable. But thats what fear and stupidity produce;simple minded "solutions" that have all been tried before and all failed. The baggers, ignorant of history, don't seem to know that.

So I guess we'll listen to their belly-aching for a few more months until they run out of hot air and their hysteria gets shunted off in a new direction. Yawn

It is funny when a bunch of idiots sharing their opinions don't have any idea what a Tea Party is about. The history behind them, read up on it. We're tired of being called activists when we're just plain old American citizens trying to get OUR voices heard above all the special interests, lobbyists and other entity big enough to influence congress.

We don't have the money to pay lobbyists to talk for us so we are doing the only thing we can to tell these idiots in congress we don't want the Obamacare, we don't want amnesty for illegals, we don't want higher taxes, we protest, and keep protesting until we've been heard.

By the way, in the elections, WHY do we have only two parties that are represented on election day??????

Because government created it that way so no one that is for the PEOPLE has a chance to get into the race and take away votes from their "golden" ones.

We are not tree huggers, we are not ELF and anyone who is throwing fingers and racial comments is NOT part of this group because they only hurt what we are standing for OURSELVES I am a mom and I only want my voice heard.

That and only that is what all these protests are about and if anyone says any different they ARE NOT PART OF OUR GROUP.

So go crap in someone else's tea because if your saying that much against then YOU are probably a government planted party crasher that needs to go home and figure out what kind of AMERICAN you are. Not a Patriot by any means is my guess.

Crazy. Simply crazy. Our rights are in peril and we are over-taxed. I requested the u.s. federal government animal division for a licence to allow me raise small monkeys within the confines of a steel can. They have yet to respond to my request DESPITE almost 3 hours passing.

Bring back the old day when animals of all shapes and sizes were permitted to be grown for their lifetime within the confines of a small steel can or ceramic teapot.

I believe that Roff has called it as it is. I'm sure those who doubt this are wrapped up in listening to the Communist News Network. Can't they see that the news being forced on all of us daily is part of the problem? The news in this country causes more problems than anyone.

It will be funny to see how the main stream media will try to down play the people who will be at the capitol today on Tax day to protest government spending. I'm a sure the comment will be a "few thousand" showed up.

On a different note.... those who are receiving government handouts should have their voting rights stripped from them because they are living on charity. Just like a child in your home does not have the right to vote, neither should any beneficiary until they become a contributor. Perhaps the egg throwing, middle finger waving "protestors" would then "grow-up"!

How does Roff conclude 58% suddenly support the tea party, while 'a new CNN poll shows that 1 of every 10 Americans strongly supports the tea party movement.' I guess the 48% discrepancy must be just getting a good chuckle out of the extreme showboating coming out of the tea party. That's some pretty fancy footwork. Roff must feel forced to exaggerate the tea party because the gimmick is wearing thin - the movement is dwindling. No matter how much Roff lies he knows the tea parties are carefully choreographed expensive partisan pep rallies to try keep the rage a blazing and the hate boiling over.

I think some are afraid that folks are seeing through the smoke and mirrors that the tea parties are now corporate sponsored Diva tours. These toadies are selling tickets like concert promoters now. Afraid to Admit these Sand Baggers are Still Astroturf? - now with fancy props but the same bunk.

Please do you really think the faux outrage is intimidating anyone?

We know the goal is to incite fear among the tea party gullibles, and that hopefully will incite fear in the general population that some unstable domestic terrorists will be putting up barricades in the streets and setting up guillotines for anyone who doesn't go along with their jacobin notions. Afraid it ain't workin' out for you.

No one is buying into your fearmongering, Roff.

And it's Amazing how well these Tea Party Crashers blend right in! http://patrioticmobster.wordpress.com/2010/04/14/tea-party-crashers-amazing-how-they-blend-right-in/

PresidentSuit of NJ 11:29PM April 14, 2010

you're right,Bush did have a small majority,3-4 votes, but counting Collins,Snowe,McCain,Grahm,Spector and Jeffords things leaned left. But you are right. At the same time where was the lefts outrage over spending then? Like I said Obama and the left aided by some sorry a-- republicans voted for every spending bill.

I must say,I get a kick out of most of you demonizing name calling basically lying about the Tea Party people.Burning down their town, really.I remember that back in the late 60s,or at a G8 summit,may-be an ELF meeting or Rodney King trail and today in Greece.I only bring these up because these are the only riots that burned down towns I can recall. Please give examples of any Tea Party burnings I've missed. You people are a riot to read.

Tree hugger please let us know what they've done,I would like to know.

Bobbob George Sorros isn't wealthy? Hollywood isn't wealthy? Mainsteam media and Jeff Imelt aren't wealthy and hae no pull? Please point out some wealthy Tea Party backers besides everyday peopele that have just had enough.

The real Republican party has a different agenda than the tea partiers. The real Republican party is owned by corporations. The tea partiers just carry water for them, just like the evangelicals have in the past. In fact, I think the tea partiers of today are the same people as the anti-gay, anti-science evangelicals that the Republicans have used to get elected since Nixon. In the past they scared them with emotional issues that really didn't even affect them like flag burning amendments. Now they've gone back to the 50s to start scaring them with "socialism" and "marxism". The corporations in control don't care about those issues. All they care about is having free regin to rape the American consumer. The real Republican party loves illegal immigrants because they work cheap, but they'll never tell the tea partiers that. EVERYONE at the tea parties voted Republican in 2008 and 2004 and 2000. I'm sure you can find a few exceptions just like you can find a few minorities. Tea partiers are the same 25% who think Sarah Palin is intelligent, who think W.Bush was a good president, and who think Dick Cheney is great. The old strategy of scaring them with gay people and flag burning stopped working because the hillbillies realized they weren't really going to do anything about those issues, so they changed to "socialism". Can you imagine what tea party types would have said about Rooselvelt?

"It has its positive aspects--for example the incredible level of self-education it is producing about the U.S. Constitution, the Federalist Papers, other founding documents and the political process itself."

I'm not sure about that. Some of the statements I've heard from tea partiers don't suggest self-education. Declaring that fascism and Nazism are "leftist, liberal, socialist" ideologies suggests otherwise. I always want to ask them, "If Nazisim/Fascism is a leftist ideology, what do you call an extreme right wing ideology that results in dictatorship and repression of human rights, but keeps capitalism like Germnay under Hitler or Chile under Pinochet?" Center right? Apparently there is no such thing as and extreme right wing system and no such thing as a right wing dictator.

They also like to tell us that the U.S. is "founded on Christian principles", but if you ask them to name one, they can't think of one and they are usually surprised to find out that Jesus is not actually mentioned in the constitution.
