The health-care bill is now passed into law-WITHOUT deem-and-pass (or a self-executing rule). Obamacare became law with a conventional vote in the House of Representatives. The did NOT have one vote on two separate items.

The 150 plus pages of the new house bill only underscores how bad this thing is. Just reading the changes should scare every American citizen. How many people did they pay off so far this time? I heard Maoboma saying companies would use profits for pay raises since they would cut costs for healthcare. My question is simply; Why? Besides, they would still be paying for healtcare, just dealing with a government entity instead of an insurance company.

Any other shenanigans are a travesty for a bill so large and so important to the American people. This is just like "1984" with new rules being written daily to validate the corruption of the Democratic Party. The House Ethics Committee is an oxymoron. Pelosi is chief moron. Too bad she and Murtha could not trade places.

It is time to let the people decide. If not, it is time for the people to decide whether they wish to stay in this union, with its too big to fail, corrupt government that spends our children's money making them paupers and slaves. It is time for the people to decide whether we keep a government that makes a mockery of the constitution and the rule of law. It is time for the people to decide whether it is acceptable for congress to pass laws which no one wants, not even their own members. It is time for people to decide whether the ends justify the means and that might makes right. It is time decide if they should take back liberty and their economic, political, social and moral rights and ask their state legislatures to secede.

Health Care needs to be corrected, but the methods being presented are not for the American People, just control of the American people by the government. Government needs to look to more important issues, such as more job creation and military techniques to protect our country not tear down what our forefathers have already established. My father was a POW in World War II, and I hate to see what he has fought for a protected be subjected to such uncaring control of people, by passing a health care that NOBOBY WANTS! Check in out 75% do not want this. Why continue to destroy our Wonderful America.

Deem and Pass was used 100 times under Hastert, and 100 more times under Gingrich. It's only a problem if Pelosi uses it.
More Republican amnesia and doubletalk. Can't you guys be honest about anything?

Levin, president of Landmark Legal Foundation, today issued a warning to the leadership of the U.S. House of Representatives about the possible use of the so-called “deem and pass,” “self-executing,” or “Slaughter Rule” to enact H.R. 3590, the legislative version of President Obama’s healthcare proposal that has been previously approved by the Senate. If this tactic is employed, Landmark will immediately sue the President, Attorney General Eric Holder and other relevant cabinet members to prevent them from instituting this unconstitutional contrivance.
“Landmark has already prepared a lawsuit that will be filed in federal court the moment the House acts. Such a brazen violation of the core functions of Congress simply cannot be ignored. Article I, Section 7 of the Constitution is clear respecting the manner in which a bill becomes law. Members are required to vote on this bill, not claim they did when they didn’t. The Speaker of the House and her lieutenants are temporary custodians of congressional authority. They are not empowered to do permanent violence to our Constitution.”

This entire process, is exactly what the President campaigned to change. He said that things would not be done in the same old back room way if he was elected. Liar
I have come to the conclusion that the President has a social engineering agenda, which he is determined to achieve, without any concern for what the majority thinks, or the Constitution, or anything else for that matter. He has an agenda, and he will achieve it, regardless of how. You and I will spend the remainder of our lives trying to reclaim our liberties, our incomes, and our government. I weep for my county, that we all thought there was such promise, such hope in this candidate. We have been razzle dazzled. But as one true patriot once said, "You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time.... but not all of the people, all of the time. Or burn me once, shame on you, burn me twice, shame on me. I will never vote for a Populist again.
