You may call NP's comment a gaff but if you knew how a bill becomes a law you would realize what she meant. The comment was crystal clear.

Hunter of WI,

I like when you say "No country can out work the American workers,it's the goverment driving them out." Well you are right about one thing. It is the Government driving them out, but blaming it solely on Obama, Democrats or other liberal policies is misplaced. "It is the result of public policies that have concentrated and amplified the effects of the economic transformation and directed its gains exclusively toward the wealthy." "Since the late 1970s, a number of important policy changes have tilted the economic playing field toward the rich." "Congress has cut tax rates on high incomes repeatedly and has relaxed the tax treatment of capital gains and other investment income, resulting in windfall profits for the wealthiest Americans." Also I don't think Fox News is a problem either, but what does become a problem is when you only get news from one source, because then you become biased.

You seem to be hiding yourself.I think you know exactly what a communist/socialist is.From reading your two posts,I'say you go socialist. If you seriously don't know what they mean may-be you should learn more before you're so quik to embrace their ideology. You say leave ideology out of it,that means just roll over, leave your beleifs and morals at the door and take what's given to you,not what you've worked for.By you saying fair and equitable you mean socialism, not working to well in Greece,Iceland and most of Europe. They're in alot worse shape than we are,we're heading that way fast.To the hard working, wheather rich or poor go the spoils,it's not for the goverment to take and give to where they see fit.As Bill of Mo.said,we already have 50-60 trillion in unfunded mandates. How about they take care of what they already have to do before they take on more.Show us they can do something right.Would you hire a failed contractor to work on your house?Twice?Three times?or more, that's what they want from us.If you say you don't like jackles feasting on your tax dollars, why give them more? They will only want more and more. You say education is the answer, what about vouchers and charter schools.Teachers union pension fund is broke.Depending on the area schools spend 10,000 to 18,000 per year per student they say that's not enough and they want to cut the school week to four days.I'M SICK OF MY MONEY FOR MY OLD AGE BEING TAXED AWAY TO BAIL OUT BANKRUPT UNION PENSION FUNDS.And you say leave my ideology out of it,just roll me over.I don't think you're hiding youself very well. Why are you affraid of Fox News? Are you affraid of an informed electorate? Are you affraid of people that might question your motives? They show.Because I oppose Obama and his agenda you say I'm not patriotic,WELL LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING A HOLE,MY GRANDFATHER MY FATHER MY BROTHER FOUGHT FOR THIS COUNTRY,I FLY MY FLAG!!Choose your words!!Obama is no more a centraist than the man on the moon. One more thing, they're trans national companies mainly because they can't afford to do business in this country. No country can out work the American workers,it's the goverment driving them out.

I was surprised to see writings from someone's blog put on another site. Of course you can do that. I have seen people who steal.

I disagree medicare is way to go. Have heard total debt of social programs could be $50-60 Trillion. AMERICA IS A WALKING TIME BOMB. Can not trust government.

Answer for health care is privatization. With Republican style reform. You should study the few counties that have private social security. Loop hole was closed. Plan is in black and pay out larger amounts. That are onther advantages.

I believe if you investigate, you may agree. Here is one source:

Bill,

No I'm not a plagiarist and I quote my sources - my book is called Journey Home - scroll down and you will see at the end of most of my comments my tag

"Paul Burke

Author-Journey Home" - thanks for reading!

I think the medicare buy in is the way to go - it's a system up and running already - it won't concentrate so many unhealthy people on one plan - it will shore up medicare with dollars coming in and it will provide a little competition for the insurance companies.

And there is nothing wrong with reconciliation - we all know the republicans used it and to address the health care crisis - we have to stop falling for the spin that our politicians keep spitting out at us and the spin our corporate owned media trumps - for their own behalf not the middle class - someone called me a communist - that's hillarious - I don't even know what that means - I certainly don't want to dress and think like everyone else - I'm for individual freedoms but I'm also for properly managing our resources and smartly overseeing our markets, infrastructure and defense. At the end of the day Washington D.C. is just a huge distribution system - our tax dollars go in and the jackles position and feast on thenm - directing them in largely unscrupulous ways to the benefit of the few.

We can and should do better and it begins and ends with education.

I'm off the board now - but really we are all in this together and we have to stop focusing on left and right and focus on where our tax dollars are going to whom and why - and turn off Fox news - and Glenn Beck and seriously question where you get your news from - the corporatist own the airwaves and are pushing their agenda hard 24/7.

Their agenda doesn't necessarily dove tail with yours - or ours (middle class) vote your pocket books and we will all be all right - keep ideology out of it - stay practical. Fair and equitable societies are healthier, more peaceful and profitable - the rugged individualism bull is just an excuse to be a crook - legitimate wealth gained honestly - to the victor goes the spoils - unfortunately - its not all legitimately gained wealth - monopolies and unregulated economies run amok with shysters and con-men and create way to volatile a market for real "long term sustainable prosperity".

That's what I want - I don't care what party they belong too.

Paul of VA 1:06PM March 12, 2010

Yeah right - that's a good one - LOL

"Peter Roff is a contributing editor at U.S. News & World Report. A former senior political writer for United Press International, he is currently a senior fellow at the Institute for Liberty and at Let Freedom Ring, a non-partisan public policy organization. His writing has also appeared on Fox News' Fox Forum."

Fox - non-partisan - reading RNC talking points - awesome - the Corporatist Media has zero credibility - keep pushing the Corporatist Trans National agenda - deregulate everything and watch the crooks fleece this country dry. De-Regulation is just another word for lawlessness.

It's a question of balance and Regan, Bush, Clinton, Bush removed the proven effective regulations from the last depression and stuck us right back into the disaster and bubble economies.

Our President is trying to fix that it might be patriotic of you to support those efforts on behalf of the American People – not the Trans-National Corporations. As big of a centrist as our President is – he has not gone far enough - that's why the democrats lost their Massachusetts seat.

The people all know we need competition in the market place to lower prices but the staus quo want to hang onto a system that is out of balance and crippling the whole entire market sector. I thought you FOXES were all about small business being the backbone of America - that's what your movie actor president said....guess you all have selective memories and are prone to situational ethics....some will rob you with a six gun and some with a fountain pen – good luck wonder boy.

Non-partisan I’m still laughing at that…….

Oh I love the red blooded stuff. Apparently you aren't smart enough to realize that the tax payers have been ripped off and for decades upon decades.

Shout communist all you want but you are defending the rip off artist, crooks and criminals gaming the system and buying our politicians to do it.

I knew that remark would ferret out the bombastic, baloney of the kool-aid drinkers.

Billions in more subsidies (notice how they don’t call them tax dollars) for big oil, coal and nuclear are coming up.

Too bad in this "Republic" - it's really not a democracy (loosen the tie it's cutting off the oxygen to your brain) …the people do not have a seat at the table. By the people, of the people for the people – have you ever read the Federalist Papers?

More for the Halliburton’s of the world but I guess in your extremely naive world view the accumulation of wealth by the powerful has nothing to do with kickbacks, insider trading or gaming the Federal system to benefit the Corporatist; that my red blooded American friend is corruption and not democracy. You don’t have the moral high ground you think you have.

We are all in this together and yes I'm fighting to get MY tax dollars distributed towards job creation, infrastructure and horror of horrors other things that would make this world a better and more sustainable home for all.

Oh my god I may even want to help the poor get educated and the homeless off the street and shut down the teenage sex slave trafficking...I'm sure I'll loose my membership card in YOUR twisted version of democracy where the rip off artists and the liars and the corrupt get to steal grandma's retirement money.

Your romanticism about "rugged individualism" is not reality and is definitely not a successful business or market model for GOVERNING a continental sized nation.

Get a clue boy wonder it us versus the corrupt politicians and the corrupt corporatist who game the system and bleed the middle class dry - not each other. And I would add unless you are following these two rules – live and let live and do unto others as you would have them do unto you – You are the one doing the wrong thing.

As far as Iraq war. Bush won that war. Biden saying is greatesy accomplishment of obama is pathetic. Biden and obama both voted against surge, Biden wanted the Country divided.

In Karl Rowe’s book he speaks of the lies of Congress members. Many believed there were weapons of mass destruction. To name just one icon to liberals, Teddy Kennedy. Another, Nancy Pelosi.

“We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seeking and developing weapons of mass destruction."

Sen. Ted Kennedy (D, MA), Sept. 27, 2002

"If Saddam rejects peace and we have to use force, our purpose is clear."

We want to seriously diminish the threat posed by Iraq's weapons of mass destruction program."

President Clinton, Feb. 17, 1998

"He will use those weapons of mass destruction again, as he has ten times since 1983."

Sandy Berger, Clinton National Security Adviser, Feb, 18, 1998

"We urge you, after consulting with Congress, and consistent with the U.S.Constitution and Laws, to take necessary actions, (including, if appropriate,

air and missile strikes on suspect Iraqi sites) to respond effectively to the threat posed by Iraq's refusal to end its weapons of mass destruction

programs."

Letter to President Clinton, signed by Sens. Carl Levin, Tom Daschle, John Kerry, and others Oct. 9, 1998-

"Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of mass destruction technology which is a threat to countries in the region and he has made a mockery of the weapons inspection process."

Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D, CA), Dec. 16, 1998

What got us in this mess was Democrats helping the people. It ended our longest running bull market as well.

The noble idea of lower income citizens becoming home owner called Community Reinvestment Act under Jimmy Carter lead us to recession. Vastly broadened by Bill Clinton. Fannie & Freddie sells the bundled sub-prime loans to Wall Street. When rates go up, devastation occurs. Democrat President caused the need for bail out. Bush’s bail out saved our economy from what Bill Clinton had done.

Bush warned countless time of collapse. By a all Democrat vote regulation bill failed.

Obviously this is a highlight answer. Other factors exist. The point is Bill Clinton, Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, and others got off Scott-free in murdering our economy. Bush, the near innocent one, blamed by liberals who are either ignorant of history,in denial, or liars:
