GOP Should Bring Anti-Health Reform Democrats to Obama’s Summit

Our system doesn't work as it stands. I think it's irresponsible to argue that our healthcare system is the "best in the world" and doesn't need fixing. We're one of the few industrialized nations in the world that doesn't have some sort of universal health care.

Unfortunately, I also believe that it doesn't matter who Boehner brings or doesn't bring to the summit. There's next to no chance of their being any real discussion on healthcare reform until the Republicans win back however many seats they're going to win back in November. Until then every move they make and every word they utter will be geared toward that end. Maybe if they get a few seats back, they'll actually try governing for a change.

Also, how come the pharmaceutical industry is never mentioned in any of these discussions? What's their role in the state of our system? How would they be affected by reform, and how are they affecting the discussion on and implementation of reform?

Listen, walk by yourself in any health insurance office and try to get covered without your employer supporting you.

Then go back home and rewrite all the stupidity you have just written.

Who are these Americans who oppose reform? Are they the ones who like their current health care? Completely ignoring the millions of uninsured who can't even get routine checkups because of the ridiculous costs of just walking through the door of a hospital, people with insurance pay huge premiums and are still routinely denied care or are forced to pay extra. The only good part of our health care system is the part where you actually get tended to by a doctor. Literally every part the insurance industry participates in is horrible. I want to know, is there anyone out there who likes the way their insurance treats them?
