Take illegal’s out of social security and Medicare.

States want to cut health care benefits for programs like medicaid or get more money, yet private health insurance costs increase and Congress has a hearing.

Talk about a double standard, that is exactly why a public option, which Democrats still plan to push would hurt everyone.

Byah, now supports putting health care through on budget reconciliation or even changing the cloture rules. Now that he is not running for election he is all about their agenda rather then what the voters want. (see NPR interview yesterday)

Reform will never happen as long as the UCA(United Corporations of America) are allowed to control the US Government. It started in 1937, the President of the American Medical Association testified to Congress that the marijuana tax act was based entirely on lies. Congress ignored him. 1939, just two years later the Mayor New York, Fiorello La Guardia assembles an entire panel of physicians from The New York Academy of Medicine to study marijuana over a two year span. The report was released in 1944 in which it concluded that the mj tax act was the result of founding a law upon lies. Congress ignores the physicians, and continues lieing to the American public the same way William Hearst did throughout the early 1930's in all his newspapers throughout the US. Why Hearst? Look up "New Billion Dollar Crop" Popular Mechanics 1938 for your answer! Recent UC studies again, proove mj efficacy for neuropathic pain. But again, the liars and hypocrites continue to stand between the patient and his or her physician. Reform will never happen as long as R and D's are bought and paid for by the UCA.

I wonder if Stupak would be willing. It would alienate party leadership, but he may feel that those bridges have been burned. Joe Cao would be a good option too.

Just one point.

Bush tried to stop recession. Regulations to do that, with all Democrat vote, failed to pass.

“For many years the President and his Administration have not only warned of the systemic consequences of financial turmoil at a housing government-sponsored enterprise (GSE) but also put forward thoughtful plans to reduce the risk that either Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac would encounter such difficulties. President Bush publicly called for GSE reform 17 times in 2008 alone before Congress acted.”

“Unfortunately, these warnings went unheeded, as the President’s repeated attempts to reform the supervision of these entities were thwarted by the legislative maneuvering of those who emphatically denied there were problems.”

It seems lately all we hear from republicans is that the government doesn't work. So what do republicans do. They get elected and go out and prove that point.

Agree with the person who has had coverage all their life and insurance lived up to their end of the bargain.

Same here. I sell health insurance for a living. I know it's expensive and not everyone can buy a "cadillac" plan.

So buy a very basic plan. Do that before you eat out 5 times per week. Do that before you go out and buy the newest

tv on the market because your neighbor has one. Teach your kids some responsibility instead of

"gimme, gimme, gimme" and expecting the federal govt to provide for your medical care. I pay just shy of 50% of my income in taxes and I'm disgusted by people living off the system generation after generation. Some people need some help from time to time and I have NO PROBLEM with them. Eliminate entitlements to those that are just too lazy to work. Eliminate 50% of govt waste (100% would be better, but not realistic) and this country would be flush with cash.

I totally agree with author.

That is where agreement will be meet. Not with obama. He had his chance and blew it. He had the votes. He bought the votes. He lost the bill.

Obama is out of touch with reality. He is responsible for Iraq success ??? According to Biden.

“Former Vice President Dick Cheney laughed off Joe Biden's claim Sunday that Iraq will be one of the Obama administration's biggest successes, suggesting he instead ought to thank George W. Bush.”

Said:

“people with insurance pay huge premiums and are still routinely denied care or are forced to pay extra..”

That is interesting. Insurance companies break their contract with their policy holders. Wow. Wish we had lawyers in this Country to do something about that !

My policy has co-pays, doesn’t yours ?

I have had diabetes & high blood pressure since 1985 and have never had a problem with my health insurance. They lived up to their end of the deal and so have I. Had health insurance all my life. No problems. I did not gamble that I would not have health problem. I took responsibly for my actions.

I hear here Republicans have no health plan on this site. Here it is:

The son of a friend had a car accident. He had a CT scan for his head $2000.00....Had one for his neck $2000.00 more. Medicare and Medicade will pay for both. Insurance companies follow suit. I don't mind paying $200.00 more for the ct scan on the neck...but double??? It was all done at the same time with the same doctors. What's the added cost. You did not turn the scanner off and start again. You didn't bring new staff in to review the scan. All you did was charge more because the government proceedures will allow it. What's the problem. The government!
