Republicans Refuse to Be Obama’s Health Reform Set-Dressing

Congratulations on being able to perform a Google search. However, when I read the likes of "Democrat controlled Congress," and (I hope) you know what I mean, I know I am dealing with a rabid partisan who is not interested in knowing others' viewpoints, but only in criticizing. It is easier to criticize than to create. What do you have to offer, other than to spout tired conservative talking points?

There's one thing that people like you have in common, and that's rampant negativity fueled by a bottomless pit of anger. Obama and the Democratic Party are only the drug that feeds your addiction. If you are angry because your life didn't turn out well, then by your standards you have only yourself to blame.

Who said that ???? Not Sarah !!!

"Sarah Palin's 'death panel' charge voted biggest lie of 2009"

No wonder you're liberals, you got your facts wrong...

I wonder what the polls would say today if all the lies and half truths were removed from the debate. You know the ones I'm talking about. The one that spoke about death panels, and socialism, and killing jobs ( what job?)and of course killing Grandma. The starting over thing is just another in a long series of right wing lies. If you really want to see where the republicants are coming from just read up on Rep. Paul Ryans budget proposal.

Unlike Republicans of a generation ago, they are not equals in intellect, patriotism, nor concern for a majority of the Country.

They are in the minority and cannot accept that thusly resort to any and all tatics to obfuscate, delay, criticize like a spoiled elementary child.

“61% Say Congress Should Start All Over Again on Health Care”

Thursday, February 11, 2010

“President Obama this week called for a televised bipartisan summit to get his health care reform plan back on track, but 61% of U.S. voters say Congress should scrap that plan and start all over again”

The time to negotiate was when bill was being developed. Democrats choice was to leave Republicans out.

Now obama wants to do what you basically said. Or you got from him.

Well, only one vote is different than the way it was. Obama real problem is his party. Not Republicans. Most people realized that. The cohesiveness has evaporated. Democrats learned from MA election, polls, and tea party. They want to get re-elected. To do that, they are listening to the people now. No longer can they ignore them.

This old obama health bill didn’t go into effect for years. Yet cost would have started immediately.

You don’t pass a bad bill. Period. Health care bill will pass. A much better one. Democrat eyes have been opened. Republican will be involved this time not left out.

I will give you an example of obama’s lies. Senator obama voted against surge in Iraq. Today, he takes credit for surge success:

“Now, the Obama-Biden pair that opposed the Iraq war and its tactics and predicted their failure is prepared to accept credit for its success..”

Many years ago when I was twenty-four & my Dad forty-nine years old, Dad had a heart attack. I was serving over-seas with the 25th Infantry Division. The American Red Cross arranged an emergency leave for me, and I flew home to be with the family. Dad had been a share-cropper farmer early in life as he and my Mom frugally pinched every penny to accumulate sufficient capital to become land-owners. They succeeded, but of course, there were no extra funds for things like health insurance.

Dad had a second episode, and while hospitalized, after three days called me to his side. "Son, these people can't help me, and if I stay here, they will take the farm. Get me out of here." After discussing Dad's request with my Mom and his Doctor, he was released and I called in Family and friends. Dad passed after two days at home, surrounded by those he loved. Mom lived another forty years, missing Dad terribly every day.

When I was sixty-three, in the Family tradition, I had my own heart attack, however, unlike Dad, I was provided for by a Federal Healthcare program. I was treated promptly, have received superb ongoing care for the last eleven years, and, unlike my Mom, my Wife still enjoys the company of her husband. I will vote against every incumbent whom I can identify who have voted or railed against a federal healthcare program for the American people.

Why not take the existing legislation (Health care) and break it up into its components. Then build a grid with current sections of proposed legislation and corresponding posting of oppositions suggested changes, tweaks, or whatever. Balance these against the known issues of deficit and budget control and impact to the consumer financially, and voila you have a reasonable starting point. The Republicans are only asking to start over knowing that they could then stall this out for the next 2.5 years.

I'm not necessarily placing any blame on anyone. But we definitely need to get some people in Congress that think a little outside the box that is their brain. More than tired of the same old bull crap that passes for "conscientious politicos". Even Tea Party people are starting to fry me a little bit with their fringe fanaticism.

Politics is so far removed from giving a crap about what is right and reasonable and well-thought out that it is no wonder that upcoming generations could care less.

Muser has it right. Never again in your lifetime should you vote for an incumbent. This will send them all home, end the two party system, end campaigning while in office, reduce corruption, and send the career politician into extinction.

Being loyal to one of the two major parties in this day and age makes you the equivilant of a professional wresting fan.

When is Obambi gonna realize that the ones who actually make the decsisons have all been bought and paid for? Its the American way!
