Obama Seemed Small in State of the Union Address

The very fact that this Jr Senator was "presented" to US as a viable "leader" is and has been laughable.

It truly gives some credability to the idea that there's some smoke filled room of "people" that sit about deciding our fates.

"We can sell them this guy" one groans.

AND the saddest part is that WE bought it...at least 32% of the voting public anyway.

SIDE NOTE: 64% voted...Obama won by 52%.

THE rest of US who didn't vote for a slightly less-bad Candidate are equally guilty.

HOW did everyone ignore the basic fact that THIS MAN has NEVER run ANYTHING in HIS LIFE?

No Business, Hamlet, Town, City, State and CERTAINLY not a COUNTRY!

Not to mention the myriad of Radical affiliations that kept popping up that have all come to roost in the WH administration?

Seemed Small?

Obama is like the Wizard of Oz, all flash and visual effects and no substance.

He has increased the debt by nearly $4 TRILLION (more than ALL presidents put together, including trillions MORE THAN BUSH in 8 years), subsumed GM and Chrysler from private businesses into gov't financial abysses (and failing at that), nearly destroyed much of the financial industry that has helped cripple NYC while he continues attacking the wealth-making engine of the country, and offers to freeze $15 billion out of trillions, which is like a band aid on a scratch.

Our enemies have attacked us three times domestically during his one year in office, he just flip-flopped on holding trials for terrorists in NYC (some common sense must have struck him in his sleep), and his agents arrested and mirandized the Detroit terrorist before he could be interrogated. His pledges to close Gitmo without any idea of what to do with its detainees and his insisting soldiers on the battlefield treat the enemy like common street muggers in some center city puts our men in the services in danger and cripples their ability to fight.

I would be happy if he would just go off some place and play golf and basketball for the next three years. The tax code is already 3-feet thick, the FEC alone has 800 pages of regulations, and if no other laws were ever passed, we already have enough for many life times.

Bork Congress, because it is still plotting to bork you. 202-224/225-3121.

Watching Obama speak last night reinvigorated my interest in political activism. As a committed independent, a 60 year old Coloradoan,I struggle to find much to respect in the GOP these days. America faces grave challenges - as a retired homebuilder - I watched the mortgage industry spin out of control and believe Bush came up with the best description - "the got drunk, and no chaperones were there to remove the punch bowl" - and to read the revisionists attempting to blame it all on "too much government" - using the CRA ruse - I am convinced now that Republicans are incurable hypocrits and incorrigable liars. They are like children who have never been properly coached and believe winning at all costs is everything - party before country. The ignorance and shallowmindedness is shocking to anyone who studies the issues objectively.

First, he sought the office, campaigned vigorously and is NOT the passive recipient of what preceeded him.

Second, it should surprise no one that he avoids responsibility. Recall in his book, he blames his drug use on his father's lack of involvement in his life.

Third, many things are hard for him because he has received preferential treatment throughout his life and has not had to work to produce anything. How long did he serve as Senator before running for President? 150 days? His community activism consisted of mounting legal challenges to gain advantage for those believing themselves entitled to what others produce.

Its dam time we stop electing the same people to office and the same two party system. We need a new party, a third party, new and fresh ideas from bright young minds. Get rid of these old men who are still living in the past with their old ideas and could care less.

Good insight on how Obama can very effectively communicate campaign speech platitudes but crumbles when he must confront his lack of leadership, poor execution, and disastrous governance. Barry is a classic narcissist who is seen as the little man that he is when the occasion calls for any measure of self-reflection and self-actualization.

He was direct, honest, and called out those who needed it. I hope he keeps it up!!!!!

His speech was facts. Undeniable facts. RC above says spin, but there was none. No lofty soaring comments. Just facts. About the economy. About the deficit. About what overspending he put forward, what overspending put forward before him. About the Supreme Court ruling. About flaws on the Dem side. About flaws on the Repub side. He challenged people in his party who are bought off by special interests to show some courage on behalf of the public. He asked Republicans to think about their constituents instead of McConnell peering over their shoulder.

Most of all, he said that government that is not about meeting the needs of the people is not worth having, and any politician who is acting just for political expediency should get out ot the business. He was not partisan on this -

He is not arrogant or condescending. Just plain-speaking. Many Americans are accustomed to politicians who say anything they think will get them re-elected. They are arrogant and condescending - assuming the public is too dumb to see their lies. He did not sugar-coat his thoughts. He said America is in danger of becoming second rate, and it is the fault of any politician who stands on the sidelines and does not act constructively.

So - let's see if the Republicans really want to make this country better for Americans, or they just want to be elected and do nothing.

This President is sincere, and honestly wants America to prosper. If you disagree with him - OK. But do not question his sincerity. That is genuine.

The President is almost on empty and didn't even realize the tank was low. He claims the bizarre loss in MA was because the public is "angry" over banking oversight (Coakley supported that) shows one of two things...he is inept or severly illadvised. The Democrats lost control of Congress in 1994, followed by a boom in the economy. The Democrats re-gained Congress in 2006 and the economy quicly tanked. The Democrats consistantly criticized Bush for his EIGHT YEAR deficit spending, then quadrupled it in sixty days.

The President is out of touch or in over his head.

About half of his speech was Spin spin spin blame blame blame. Another quarter was lie lie lie. The remaining quarter was arrogance, condescension, and hubris -- But He does speak well and look good in a suit. Putting aside his incompetence, for the moment, I can certainly see why he was elected.
