Joe Biden's Filibuster Hypocrisy

in this Senate session is unprecedented! 112 so far since 2007, versus 54 from 2005 - 2007...think about it. Your hypothesis lacks truth.

Hmm. As a socialist myself, I'd like to hear your definition of the concept. Certainly bailing out Wall Street and having taxpayers pick up the tab is not any form of socialism that I know. Allowing private contractors to continue to profit off the war and not be held accountable for when they kill innocent civilians doesn't sound like any socialism that I know. Is letting drug companies continue to make extreme profits while not ensuring universal coverage socialist? Not in my understanding of the concept. Look, I"m not an Obama supporter (since I am after all, a socialist), but I have heard him be criticized by the right for being a socialist and for excepting a ton of special interest money from Wall Street. You may try to make a case for one of those things, but you certainly can't make a case for both at the same time.

And as for letting the Republicans have a seat at the table, at no point in the Bush administration did the Republicans care about having Democrats at the table.

How much you want to bet that his Uncle never, ever uttered those words. What a moronic phony.

There's a good reason that there have been so many filibusters in recent days: the radical socialist policies will harm the country! The only rational thing that the Republicans can do is filibuster.

Perhaps if the socialists would let the Republicans have a seat at the table, the bills wouldn't be so harmful.

Funny thing here is...Biden can do away with the filibuster all by his little self, just has to declare it uncontitutional as the President of the Senate. Funny, huh?

Jon L of SD 12:15PM January 26, 2010

You have to be kidding me, right? When the Republican party has set yearly records for the number of threatened filibusters (doubling anything else we've seen in the psat), you're calling Biden a hypocrite for supporting the existence of a filibuster and talking about when to use it effectively? When the Republican Party has effectively rewritten the rules of congress by making sure that every single vote has to reach a supermajority of 60, you're calling out Joe Biden because of a filibuster on some key votes? Honestly, it is this kind of outright manipulation of the truth and seeming disregard for the public record that has me worried about the future of this country. People simply need to look up the facts on how many times it has been used by each party and there is no comparison. Suggestions that somebody who might disagree with you is a dictator is also signs that our country is in trouble.

Ok you are right so now what? What are the solutions that will work? All i hear now, is finger pointing , no true idea of what to do as an alternative to fix the problems!!

Rick of CA 12:34PM January 20, 2010

Joe and most dems do not have any values that would guide them when they don't get their way.

The same could be said for most dictators and communists. wait maybe there is a common thread here!

Oh My God! Tired old Joe Biden. He must have had one too many at that Beer Summit on the White House lawn that his boss precipitated with his loose remarks. Joe is an example of why there should be term limits, an example of the Peter Principle and and an example of a tired old warhorse who should have been put out to pasture long ago.

He suffers from amnesia, selective memory, dementia or all 3. Poor old Joe.

Ray of Yonkers of NY 6:09PM January 19, 2010

Ol' Lunch Bucket Joe doesn't like partisan politics and filibusters....when it suits him and his boss.
